DIY Mechanic ....W211 Red Battery Warning on,,,,,,,,had bad Volt Reg,,,,,replaced,,,,,,bad Aux battery,,,,changed out,,,,,,,both batteries read good now and System charging/Alternator all read good at this time,,,,,,Red Warning still on,,,,,,connections good and tight,,,,,,,BCM connector sprayed with contact cleaner,,,,,,still have Red warning,,,,any ideas?? is there a way to check BCM internally? thx much. steve
I just changed out the batteries and alternator due to a constant low convenience power. A couple weeks later I see the "visit workshop" and "battery/alternor stop vehicle". Now looking at this video, I'll take a look at the bcm. Any additional advice or recommendations to look into?
If you just changed the alternator then got this warning, I would go back and make sure everything got hookup up correctly. I think it is unlikely to be the BCM but you never know. Good luck!
I changed the battery for a W211 E320 , the car starts then the fan goes at full speed ..doesn't engage any gear it's showing the battery sign on the dash... i tried diagnostic tool it's not showing any fault codes Any ideas ..can it be the BCM ?
@@diymechanic5503 the alternator was shot I over hauled it , new rectiftor, Voltage regulator and bearing .. tomorrow I will intsall it and I hope everything will be back to normal.
@DIY Mechanic Thanks but not a good news , I installed it the engine fired up for 1 min and died , there is no fuel pressure, there is no power to the fuel pump, the fuse and the rely are fine.... I don't know what happened. ..the car is in prefect condition driven only 95K km's the battery dead for 1 month before that everything was fine.
I took to a mechanic because I can't DIY this problem, the main wirring harness is eaten by a mice , after connecting few chewed wires he was able to start the car yet , the accerlator is not working.
I changed it because I was having a weird battery issue. Battery was showing a full charge but would shut down accessories randomly. BCM did not fix the problem and I returned it. Turned out to be the voltage regulator on the alternator. Opted to just change out the regulator instead of the entire alternator and that fixed the issue. Still working fine.
My trunk won’t open all the way when the remote or trunk button is pressed. The last time I went to a mechanic they used a computer to recalibrate the trunk so that it would open and close all the way and that worked for a day or two. But it’s not longer working. Could the bcm be the issue? Thanks
Which battery do you have to disconnect, the one under the hood, the trunk battery or both? I heard if you disconnect the wrong battery you will have to go back to the dealer to reprogram the vehicle.
could see an error such as "AUX equipment turned off" or something to that effect. I was getting an error that my battery was not working properly but I was getting a good voltage when I measured so it was very strange. It turned out to be the voltage regulator on the alternator that fixed the problem. I made a video on that as well. Hope this helps!
As long as your battery is not drain when parked it's good to go. I have a 09 replaced battery 3 times in last 4 months. It was a pain. It was draining over 3 amps in 15 mins. It was the bad driver side seat module went bad. Took out the seat connector and reads less than 0.05 Memphis. All good so far. ...
Hi can I ask a question what milk should I use with coco pops to fill a pot hole on the road outside my house Semi skimmed or full. I’m sure I would have more success doing this than repairing my car with your crap video.
what i was looking for. thanks

Many thanks! I was trying to take that off for 20 min without success.
Hahaha. It's a bugger. Glad it helped.

Is it neccesaey to disconnect main battery before changing bcm
And also, when changing, first disconect minus cabel and then the jack?
Did it work
Does the BCM need to coded or programmed ?

Sounds like something more may be going on with your issue. Not that familiar with the W211, but have you checked your alternator/voltage regulator?

I wouldn't think so, but you never know. Doesn't sound like it would be related, but I would go to the dealership to have that one checked out.
Did you have to disconnect the battery 1st
Yes
What are the symptoms of this being bad
Low battery voltage. Low voltage can cause all sorts of issues. Typically you will get the message that aux items have been shut off.
Mark Hebb nice thank you so much! So this BCM can cause these low voltage issues ?
Mark Hebb does the BCM need to be programmed?
Foreign Enterprises no. You should also check your voltage regulator. It’s on the alternator. That has cause low voltage errors for me as well.
Mark Hebb thank you, do you know if the BCM battery control module needs to be coded/programmed?
What is the reading of multimeter on battery when car is running
Should read 13-14v when running.
Which battery do you have to disconnect, the one under the hood, the trunk battery or both? I heard if you disconnect the wrong battery you will have to go back to the dealer to reprogram the vehicle.
I disconnected both and had no issues.
What go bad to replaced the BCM?

Hi, do you know of a Company tha Refurbish the Battery Control Unit 230-540-10-45-80
No I don’t. Sorry.
How do I test if it’s bad
Not sure. I just swapped mine to see if it fixed my problem. Knowing I could return it if not.

Semi skimmed or full.
I’m sure I would have more success doing this than repairing my car with your crap video.
I would recommend giving yourself an anima with whole milk.
I’d recommend putting tape to over it to cover it that way it’ll act as a cover and the wheel won’t go crashing down inside
Only the Germans design a clip like that.🙄
Hahaha. Yup.
