Plus it has more buttons than my Xbox One controller, so if I need more input options for a game and want to be comfy, then I just use the Steam controller. The configuration options are also endless.
Yeah I agree. I get why it didn't take off. As a normal controller it's worse than an xbox or playstation controller. You really want that right joystick. But for games that are not designed for controllers it's just so good. I played MMORPG's on it. And you need a lot of buttons for that. But once you learned the software it's so cool. This was the most, like... Calm, relaxed, detailed unboxing and review type video I've ever seen. Well done. New subscriber here, for sure. So with your games already owned on Steam for the PC, once you login you can just install from the library, right? No repurchasing?
@mangodxwns I ended up getting one myself. Loving it so far. Some things are finicky and some games more difficult to play due to the amount of controls, but I'm having so much fun with it.
Nice. This is the only model I could possibly afford and I haven’t seen many videos about this one. I am starting to feel better about possibly getting one in the next year.
I’ve bought and sold so many switches over the years. The switch is nice but Nintendo just doesn’t have a library of games I care about other than Zelda, smash bros, and maybe some mare titles. Other than that it starts to collect dust, and I don’t want to sink more money in any of those expensive titles they have, not to mention paying for playing online. Steam deck has a limitless number of games on the steam store, not to mention all the games you’ll be able to emulate on this thing. I think I’ve sold my very last switch in December, and I’ll be using my steam deck as my portable console when it arrives in about a week.
Hey, great video. I had the Steam Deck for some months now and i tried Alice Madness Returns too since i love the game. I had the same issue as you. Searched a bit and in the configuration menu of the game, you had the video setting "Post Process" to Off. Then try again. It wrorked for me. I think also the Dynamic Shadows later in game could help with some FPS or smoothness. Hope you figure it out and enjoy you Steam Deck :)
Thank you most reviews ive saw didnt go this deep into how the device looked and was size stuff like that i loved my switch portability but hated the analog sticks and small selection of games i enjoyed
Thank you for this video. I've watched a fair few 'reviews' from big name outlets but yours was more in depth for real time use. Seeing the desktop mode in action was fascinating. I like the concept and IF I had the money I would buy one but one day I would love a version that can also play other PC games not just on steam. Escape from Tarkov is a game I would love to have access to but I'm strictly an Xbox user and have an older iMac. These handheld decks are the way forward for me! Thanks again.
I was already sold on this system... you only confirmed it for me... I'm SO EXCITED and STUCK waiting for it... you know snail mail? Be hey? I'll be getting mine in two weeks at worst. Solid review showing the power of the base system... sure Deluxe won't have too many bells and whistles save for the actual internal storage for games. But SOLID lead off on just what even the BASIC system can do! But I do know given my own Steam library? Even half a terabyte of internal memory? He, he he... I'm only going to be able to fit in HALF of my fav library and thankfully a LOT my my fav games have a fairly small MEMORY profile but then games like Doom 2016 and Borderlands? Yeah, that internal memory is going to be eaten up quick.
Really enjoyed this review and I think I want to take the plunge with it! I've recently been playing my Switch in handheld mode more and realized why not try my gaming PC in that mode too?! Thanks! :)
Bro tip: vlc is pretty much default, but has some severe limitations when you start doing weird shit with playback (like frame by frame, etc.). Give mpv a go. It runs off keyboard shortcuts mostly, but once you learn the main ones it's downright awesome. , and . give you frame by frame, arrows left and right skip 5 or 10s, arrows up and down skip a minute, q to quit. The rest are in the man pages.

You have convinced me to place my order to buy a steam deck sir!
Just got mine, it's the best
Yes its pretty sweet
Thanks for this 🙂 I think I'm gonna buy a Steam Deck now.
This was the most, like... Calm, relaxed, detailed unboxing and review type video I've ever seen. Well done. New subscriber here, for sure. So with your games already owned on Steam for the PC, once you login you can just install from the library, right? No repurchasing?
Yep im trying to get one of these because this is an amazing system
@mangodxwns I ended up getting one myself. Loving it so far. Some things are finicky and some games more difficult to play due to the amount of controls, but I'm having so much fun with it.
Despite weighting more than a switch i found the steam deck to fit really good in my hands. i hope i can buy my own in the future .
man i love this beast handheld! One of my dream gadget to play my fav games 🥰 I wish i could afford this 😔
Nice. This is the only model I could possibly afford and I haven’t seen many videos about this one. I am starting to feel better about possibly getting one in the next year.
i love how happy this dude is fr
I’ve bought and sold so many switches over the years. The switch is nice but Nintendo just doesn’t have a library of games I care about other than Zelda, smash bros, and maybe some mare titles. Other than that it starts to collect dust, and I don’t want to sink more money in any of those expensive titles they have, not to mention paying for playing online. Steam deck has a limitless number of games on the steam store, not to mention all the games you’ll be able to emulate on this thing. I think I’ve sold my very last switch in December, and I’ll be using my steam deck as my portable console when it arrives in about a week.
Great video! Super comprehensive, makes me really excited for mine to come in.
Thanks glad I could help!
im so hyped to get mine, its shipping soon
Nice!
Happy to hear that! I’m sure you will absolutely love it I play my aya Neo 2021 so much
Hey, great video.

@@iminlove1148 i havent tried either of those games tbh.. Mainly because i dont have either of them
One of the best info mercials ive ever seen. very goood. My steam deck is on the way.!!!
Great video, I love your attitude. Keep it up bro!
Thanks - Cheers!
Thank you most reviews ive saw didnt go this deep into how the device looked and was size stuff like that i loved my switch portability but hated the analog sticks and small selection of games i enjoyed
Your welcome I'm glad you got something from this review that's what I was hoping for - Cheers!
Not a gaming/tech video fan, just dropped by to say hi and drop a comment.
Howdy! Thanks for stopping by! :D
your unboxing is like a fangirl meeting her idol for the first time. :))
I will treat my deck like it's a newborn when I get mine
:D
Lol please dont breast feed it it runs on electric not milk. You wont need pampers eigther. Haha 😆
@@firstpitstop I physically wouldn't be able to lol
Yeah I always look after my devices I look after my aya Neo 2021
Thank you for this video. I've watched a fair few 'reviews' from big name outlets but yours was more in depth for real time use. Seeing the desktop mode in action was fascinating. I like the concept and IF I had the money I would buy one but one day I would love a version that can also play other PC games not just on steam. Escape from Tarkov is a game I would love to have access to but I'm strictly an Xbox user and have an older iMac. These handheld decks are the way forward for me! Thanks again.
ive been playing overwatch 2 and i wonder if it can install third party launchers like battlenet so i could play overwatch on it too
@@TheDeDuos Of course, though you’d need to install windows onto your deck to be able to use battlenet, Xbox gamepass or most other launchers
Thanks, I'm waiting for my deck to arrive and your video makes it even more exciting :D
It is tinker heaven, i always love portable system. This one take the cake. I order the 64gb with the dock.
Great all-around review.
i love your honesty
Yeah me too it’s nice to see someone say it like it is, some people don’t give you an honest opinion but this guy does which is awesome
bro I just got the email the other day, mine should be in the mail soon!
Sweet!
I can confirm official xbox 360 wired controller works on SD! Got anker USB adapter
Thanks for the info!
Nice review - looks really decent. I think I'll have to grab one for when I'm out and about 👍
Received my available for purchase alert in steam while watching this video. Says shipping. :) I'm ready.

hi from the uk thanks for the walk thru
Cheers!
Really enjoyed this review and I think I want to take the plunge with it! I've recently been playing my Switch in handheld mode more and realized why not try my gaming PC in that mode too?! Thanks! :)
Glad it helped - Game on!
I have owned 3 psp over my life time and it is still one of my favorite consoles.
now that you compared it to psp I finally understand how big it is, thank you
You got it!
Loved that intro!
Thanks!
Just got my email confirmation today to purchase this bad boy! Cant wait!
Nice - Game on!
This thing is sweet. I really want one now. I haven’t had a handheld since the Nintendo ds came out
you earned a sub and i might be getting one for my birthday
This is a gorgeous unboxing.
It's got noises now! lol love it
I'm so jealous! I really hope it release in SEA region soon. Im planning to travel around with it as I work.
