Just finished 100% this game yesterday, gotta say it was a really fun experience after all these years without playing it
I feel kinda ashamed (is this a word lol) that i found out about speedruning this game so late ... its one of my fav games from my childhood so im very hyped to see you destroying it xD i will watch all of your wr now ... this will take some time since it seems like you own them in all categories lol

I just now stumbled onto the speedruns of this game through your creepy early vid and I have to say I love a ton of the simple tech in this run too. Especially just dashing through the lawnmower section, that was definitely a problem level for me as a child. Great run!
I agree a lot of the smaller optimisations are really cool as well

Yeah I can't beat the trampoline section for the pirate ship still to this day and I'm 23 as well
@Dillon Stahlman oh man I hated that section. I was stuck on it as a kid but I went back and beat it a year or so ago. Took me a while
I was so confused for the first few minutes on why running & jumping sounds were playing during the loading sequence- then I realized the discord call

Hey Mortal, with some speed runs people pause the timer during loading screens due to different devices being faster than others as not to give advantages to people with faster loading screen times. How come you include loading screen times in your WR? You could shave the time down a lot with how many loading screens there are. But maybe you have to include the loading screens in the categories rules, idk thought I’d ask
many PC games remove loads to make sure everyone is equal because some people might have better PCs. console games usually just keep loads though because consoles load the same.

the expansions dont count towards 100% for some reason so theres no point in grabbing them
I’ve never been able to easily get the red beard monster tolken, is there an easy strat for a casual player?
Question, how did you do that glitch that lets you warp from the pause menu, and why is it allowed?
quitting the game at the same time as disconnecting the controller essentially lets you pull up two pause menus and use the map as a warpgate. it doesnt do anything gamebreaking like let you warp to anywhere, just lets you warp from anywhere, so theres not any reason to ban it
I still don't understand the coffins. Is it literally just RNG or is there a trick to it?

That black knight fight actually had me internally cringing like why would they design a boss fight so poorly I get they had to do something but I’d argue that all of the boss fights in this game are poorly designed some worse than others. Gg on this solid run though even with all the bs the game threw at u in this one u still pulled through
People don't make games like these nowadays, only things like The Last Of Us 2.
Would you say it would be possible to beat the game without the double jump, we have Shaggy storage we can use for most jumps I guess
I actually looked into this the other day, every room can be beaten without double jump except for the lab 1 fan room, because you cant activate umbrella with just single jump and shaggy storage crashes
