The reason the sisters kept saying things like 'dont you love me?' was because they gave off pheromones that normally made members of the opposite sex infatuated with them. Not Ethan since, you know, mold man. Thus their confusion.
Oh is that the lore behind them, with the pheromones?
Facts
Hmmm
It's in the documents in game...if you find them. I only know from watching playthroughs.
@@crimsonwolf3487 And they're made of @#$%ing flies! LOL Not my Resident Evil.
The daughters are basically flies so that’s why they like Ethan’s taste but Madame D doesn’t. It’s actually extra foreshadowing to him being dead.
hmmm thats why lady d said that when she tasted his blood...nice pointing it out.
Flies don't eat mold and if the mold somehow brought Ethan back to the way he was before his death than the mold is actually a good thing.
I usually agree with them all the time, but with the last few reviews (especially this one) it’s just.. I don’t know.
Yeah but Lady D should know it tastes nothing like human blood. Also why would any of these creatures want to eat him if he’s mold. It’s stupid and doesn’t make sense
Why would she think it’s stale? Like shouldn’t she be like “wow I’ve tasted stale blood before and that’s way worse than stale blood!”
I just wanna add that supposedly the reason Chris treats Wthan like that at the beginning is because they are worried miranda infected him with the mold and is under her influence, dont know if that justifies it, but at leasts it adds clarity, because at that point, no one but mia knows ethan is mold already.
Also, considering how military operations work, it is possible they were not 100% sure that this Mia was indeed a doppleganger, or if Miranda infected her body from the inside, but the danger was great enough that a potential sacrifice of Mia was considered warranted. It would explain why they referred to Mia as "target", rather than simply "Miranda" in the documents that Ethan finds at the beginning of the game.
This would also explain why Chris didn't want to reassure Ethan that Mia was alive. Maybe he didn't know at that time, but was simply fulfilling orders.
Honestly, there's a number of ways to explain why Chris behaved the way he did. Could they have explained it a bit better? yeah, but to me, it's kinda nitpicky.
Think Rose is new abby
How long do you think Miranda was with Ethan? Lol I just want to know if Ethan slept with her xD
I think its such a big plot hole that Ethan was not tested for the mold after the events of RE7. Just another example of how ridiculous the story is.

From my understanding of it the mold isn't actually involved in the viruses from the original RE games, it's just that Spencer took Miranda's teachings and applied them to the progenitor virus
They created the Virus with a flower though so how did they apply Miranda's teachings to that? Her teachings of what infect people with fungus?
T Veronica Virus came from ants though.

Chris, he is not a dog, lmao
Actually the van was to take them OUT OF "Transylvania"
To be fair, in a file it said Chris didn't know if Miranda had infected Ethan so he was going to run some tests first before telling him.

Heisenberg literally tells you in the game that Miranda was using Ethan to test the strength and loyalty of her children. If they failed, they didn’t deserve to be with her when she revived her true daughter.
What's even the point if he ends up killing them all though?
@@ManFromTheFizz
Because she didn’t actually give a shit about them. They were pawns, replacements for the daughter she lost. But she knew they couldn’t replace her. So she tested them by sending Ethan after them. If they kill him, cool she wins. If Ethan beats them, cool she still wins and doesn’t have to worry about them getting in her way. She knew she could one-shot Ethan, which she did, but she underestimated his resolve to save his daughter and that’s why she failed
The problem is the difficulty is really misleading, Normal feels like Easy, and Hard feels like the way it should be played. Heisenbergs factory on hard mode is proper tension...
the factory section is so cliche' imo. Nothing about that section was new. The whole factory dynamic and the robotic enemies have been done to DEATH across gaming. They've also been called out for CLEAR plagiarism. There is a lot of stuff there that isn't even an original idea. It's one thing to take inspiration from someone else's ideas, but ol' propeller man is a direct ripoff from a movie done 8 years ago.
@@WutTheDeuceGaming well yea... its a factory level in a video game... just like a sewer level cos u know... its a video game... and werewolves and vampires and crazy rural villages are clitchès too??? Alex already adresses this at 20:29. "i do not like zombie games where i shoot a zombie 5 times in the face and it's not dead.. and hardcore just makes it the same, except now you don't have bullets". and there definently seems to be some truth to that statment, having watched someone play through the entire game on hardcore. most of the difficulty seemed to be just running out of bullets because the enemies were bullet-sponges.
Even on Hardcore I had no issues in the factory xD
Idk what Alex is talking about, RE4 was also “Action thriller”

The mold and the Virus Umrella used aren't related. The point they were pushing was the fact it was her research that helped to inspire and teach Spencer which as it states in game he took and then decided instead to use a Virus instead of the mold. She is much more an inspiration rather then a big contributing hand in what would become the T-Virus and many other varients of it from other RE games (a virus being different then a mold it would have to be done much differently to work)
That is what I was saying.
No way Village feels like Resident evil 6. It does in my opinion feel like RE 4
The ideas are from 4, but the game is kinda of a mess like 6.
they take 10 minute of Chris part as a proof that RE Village is like RE6
I don't like 4, too much action, but even I must say that this game made 4 looks like the best game in history in comparision.
All 3 of them completely missed the mark on this review smh. They got too blinded by a 20 minute sequence. Smh
"Its ALWAYS our goal to create something that anybody can feel comfortable playing." 7:22 That is a terrible mindset. There are reasons genres exist. If they dont like horror then they shouldnt play horror not turn it into an action/adventure...
This is way too scary for me to play as someone who doesn’t play horror games so they definitely fucked up on that front
RE VII was scarier. But that freaking baby in Village had my palms gripping the controller with panic.
@Kermit Peanut by RE VII the fanbase was already split into two parts....one who favored survivor horror and one who favored action horror more.....some hated it cuz it wasn't the same RE some liked it cuz it was a breath of fresh air after constant action horror games starting from RE4 to revelations to RE6
That part wasn't scary for me but made me wish Resident evil meets silent hill would come true.
Honestly Resident Evil Village's Hardcore mode is the true balance to the game. Same story and action sequences but the survival part is tuned up to fit Resident Evil 7's or Remake Re2's standard difficulty. It's challenging and adds that survival part that Alex says it's lacking. Even with new game plus it was still difficult for me at least.
Village is very similar to RE 4 actually and it has various bosses and action sequences with rocket launcher.
@Kermit Peanut my
“hardcore is only harder because the enemies are harder to kill and you don’t have as much ammo now”. That’s where the survival part of survival horror comes in. Enemies are tough to kill and you don’t have nearly enough ammo to kill everything so you have to just survive.
That statement isn't even true though, the only difficult part on hardcore is the opening Lycan ambush, I literally never died after that, you still have all the ammo and health than you'll ever need.
Survival in survival horror comes from being under equipped, scrounging for resources, inventory management, running away instead of fighting etc etc & none of that is in this game.
@@jellyfishtrifle7883 I’m well aware of what survival horror means and this wasn’t survival horror. It has a horror setting, but I never felt tense or “scared” while playing. Even when the baby showed up I was like “oh, that’s gross”. Same for me, I never really felt that I didn’t have enough resources to make it through the game and only died a couple times even on hardcore.
Funny, i don't have to play on the highest difficult in other survivor horror games to feel like i am playing a survivor horror game. If Village need that, than it failed to deliver.
@@helmeiragames that’s because it’s not a survival horror game. It’s an action thriller with elements of survival horror.
Yeah, but in this game it does feel a tad bit excessive since they messed up on the balancing a bit. They nerfed Ethan's knife but also made it so you kinda have to kill enemies for treasure/Lei that you don't really have the ammo to kill. I think the game would've worked better in an RE7 style w/out Duke, while keeping the same amount of enemies and changing the loot from mostly treasure to crafting material or ammo. The only really necessary thing that Duke offers is the upgrades which RE7 implemented through static drops throughout the game, which this could've done easily. The merchant is poorly implemented here. I think they just wanted the game to be like RE4 so much because so much of the game is already similar to RE4.
Also my explanation for Ethan not being attacked is that he injected himself with the "cure" in 7, only it didn't cure him, but it freed him from Eveline's mind control, making him autonomous.
I feel like if chris and ethan tried harder they could've gotten heisenberg on there side without using rose
Agree. I think ther was a real chance to team up with heisenberg. But they did not even try it

Personally, I liked Village more. The lore, small details of the village, enemy variants and background on the antagonist that you can find in game hooked me right away. I found RE7 mysterious but lacking variety in monsters for me. Bosses were good though.
You didn't like the fat mold, or skinny mold? I agree, the monsters in 7 were so boring lmao.
Yeah. I do think 7 had better antagonists than 8, with the exception of Lady D. Still like it more though.
It was far more interesting from a story and lore standpoint, plotholes aside. But I am slightly concerned that they're leaning too heavily towards the 'action' aspect that landed them in shit in the first place before RE6 saved them.
@@Blackemperess re7* hehe 6 is what got them in the shithole they were in
my main problem with re8 was the dumbing down of the gameplay. Exploration was linear, so it kinda became a walking simulator. The item management was removed, crafting didn't require decision making like re7, wether you make first aid med or bullets from chem fluid. And yes you can buy crafting recipes, but it doesn't change much since you can also just buy the ammo from the Duke. Also mercenaries mode and Village of Shadows were much worse than the re4 mercenaries and re7 madhouse. But re8's replay value was amazing, I like 7 more, but I have 4 times more play time in re8
I think some RE fans are too scared of action, and overreact when they see one section where you have to fight mobs of enemies. Action has always had a part in the RE series, and as someone who's played every RE, the horror in the series for me was always about how enemies looked and what they could do to you, not being in a dark hallway with no weapons, or being low on ammo all the time.
Yeah honestly RE has been more survival than horror. I don’t consider a game where they give guns with ammo to shoot at the monsters to be a horror. Hell I’m RE1 they give Jill a fucking grenade launcher. Yeah never once was I actually scared of RE. Played 0-8 and revelation games.
@@luiscasiano4211 Okay well this isn't survival either.
Yeah but this game wasn’t just one section of action, it was pretty much one section of horror with the Beneviento house.
Exactly, in the originals you can blow off zombies heads with a shotgun or magnum, and blow up enemies with a RPG or grenade launcher. Action has always been a part of RE, which is why I find it strange why ppl have this general idea that if they're not scary, their bad. I've never felt like RE games were supposed to be scary, as in trying to spook me at all times. The iconic dog hallway Alex mentions, is only 1 area, after that I was blasting zombies, running around the mansion, solving puzzles and stuff. Idk, I feel RE as a whole is very misunderstood as to what it should be. RE has been successful and relevant for 25 years imo, because the games evolve and adapt, and switch up the formula
cus u never palyed the roginals. you probly started out at 4 or 5 or 6

@@kneelb4chevelle I'm trying to decide if I'm going to platinum it. I've got all but one achievement, mercenaries S rank. I'm just not finding the new mercenaries fun. It's a weird mix of mercenaries and raid mode, and I don't think it fully works for me. The time trial survival aspect just doesn't fit as cleanly with the stage based obstacle course style as you'd think. Yea Alex was kinda braindead this review... his criticism was that there's no tension because it's so ez but than he won't turn up the difficulty because he doesn't like having more survival horror elements?? Oh and his biggest problem with RE8 was the dialog?? Come on man... I usually agree with Alex because he's tuff but fair, but this time he's just kinda tone deaf
@@SaucyLifeH4L the dialogue is definitely cheesy and goofy but yet again, this is RE we’re talking about. A series famous for its cheesy, corny dialogue. And yeah, I didn’t understand his stance on the difficulty. RE villains and enemies have always been massive bullet sponges. That’s the whole point. So you have to manage your ammo and know what times are best to use it. He claims that it was too easy but then doesn’t want to turn up the difficulty because it would be too hard? There’s no pleasing this man lol
@@SaucyLifeH4L shall we remind him of the classic Jill Sandwich line?
They missed an opportunity of making Lady D aggressiveness and threat to the player amplified for every daughter you killed and moving around the castle got wayy more difficult, Basically letting you learn the castles in's and outs and making use of small tunnels or hallways to avoid and outmaneuver a increasingly aggressive Lady D until the boss fight.
at the very least she should have had some new attacks besides a basic slash.
They should've put her level closer to the end of the game instead of the start. The daughters could've acted as spies and interfered with your progress as you make your way through the other domains.
Even have Lady D get increasingly more volatile the closer to her castle you get after offing a couple of the other Lords and maybe one of the daughters.
But she does roam around more after killing each daughter, that is exactly how it works

My first run was hardcore and it felt like a survival game. The way they talk, they didn't play in hardcore for sure. Village of shadows seems almost impossible to beat without guns/ammo/upgrades from a previous save. The survival aspect of the game is there, you just have to select the right difficult for it.
Yeah. Playing on Hardcore was 100% the way it should be played from the get. It was a true survival experience. Loved every second of it. Running through Village of Shadows now, somewhat easier now because of the arsenal you carry over.
@@FirionDude At 11:10, it shows that Joe played it on Standard difficulty. He probably didn't want to deal with "bullet sponges".
If you have to play on the highest difficult to feel the "survivor horror" vibes, than the game has failed as a survivor horror.
@@helmeiragames I don't think so, it's just that the lower difficulty setting are for those who don't have the time to play it for long sessions or just want to get to the story.
For those wanting the "full experience" should play these kind of games at the hardest difficulty setting.

"It feels like there was a part missing."
"Oh, the Resident Evil part?"
*sigh* is it possible to roll your eyes to death?
Alex made me cringe so bad. You cant review a game by not playing it. Like, what did he even mean by that? Its a survival horror game, just depends on your skill level on how well that goes
Joe you missunderstand one Plot Point.
The Mold has nothing to do with the Viruses in the Resi universe.
In Mirandas Lab is this Note about Spencer and it says that Spencer work with Miranda for Years but Miranda only wants bring one Person back to live(her daughter) and Spencer wanted chance the World etc....
Then he mentioned he found the "Progenitor" Virus in Africa(Resi 5) and this Starts all the things.
Alex missed the mark. He clearly hasn’t played games like resident evil 4. Which obviously this game took huge inspiration from. And he’s talking like it’s a complete action game. It’s DEFINITELY still a horror game. And hates that you can’t kill the zombies 1 shot in the head. But cleaaaaarly hasn’t played RE2 which takes MORE shots to the head and it’s one of the best games. Plus the last section and couple hours is the best part of the game btw. Dialogue is always cheesy we love that shit in our resident evil.
Right. This pretty much felt like RE4 with RE7s skin. I still prefer 7 but I had a great time with this one. RE2 remake enemies take hella shots. That game was also titts
Because of the marketing i actually thought chris would become a lycan or werewolf, kinda disappointed he didn't lol
Right? The cover art is confusing
Same
Yea I kinda expected that too, woulda been wild like you coulda fought him and then at the end than is able to reason with whats left of Chris's subconscious to get him to turn on Miranda and they kill each other.
@@DanielRodriguez-gs2xj well maybe not kill each other 😂 i was thinking chris could've been the Mr.X of village ya'know?
The entire marketing campaign of this game was missleading
Joe saying that people werent buying the action focused Re games is wrong Re4 Re5 and Re6s sold more than all other Re games, yes a lot of people didnt like action me included. Also Alex saying that there wasnt a much survival required i agree that the standard dificulty is to easy, the survival is a lot more present on hardcore.
Vc é Brasileiro só pra saber
That's incorrect now. One of the newest of the recent remade RE Titles be it RE2 Remake, RE3 Remake and now RE Village has or had already passed RE5's overall sales record.
The girls represented different emotions. The girl that asks if you love her was joy iirc. Matched her mask.
Miranda was using you to kill the kids. Heisenberg literally tells you that. (To answer that question)
Yeah, no I think they just used pheromones like the note said.
But there were 4 masks and only 3 girls.
@@F7HFL But there were four women. Mask of Pleasure for the daughter that wanted love, Mask of Joy for the daughter that loved the thrill of the hunt, Mask of Sorrow for the one that was disappointed in the other sister, and Mask of Rage for Lady D.
I usually agree with you guys every time .... but I can’t here lol I enjoyed village WAY more than 7, and Chris’s mission is one of my favorite parts of the game.
For me too
I agree i think 7 is just a tad low i think the lowest should be an 8
7 had alot less villain variety and areas to explore but it was very condensed, and had much better horror elements. Also the game feels more challenging since Jack speed walks on Madhouse.
One of my biggest complaints of 7 was the extreme lack of enemy variations. I don’t dislike the molded, but they got VERY repetitive after the house section. There’s so many different enemies, locations and characters in village so that’s why I prefer it over 7.
But I also think the house beneviento section is scarier than anything in 7. But, everyone’s different and that’s ok!
Mirenda wanted to test Ethan to see if he could fit in the family I think. That's why she helped him as the old lady.. I'm not sure though, just a semi-wild guess.
That's what Heisenberg said as well but then after Ethan kills Heisenberg Miranda just kills Ethan by ripping his heart out. So I don't know what
Exposing weakness so Eva would not have it
All I can think of is that mother miranda wanted the others out of the way first before killing Ethan
I can tell you guy's aren't as big a fan as you think you are. The story implications were pretty good, as well as playing as Chris, he was a complete badass as always, gave me chills playing as him.
I respect your opinions and criticisms though.
I think Mia did love Ethan, genuinely but she was complicit in creating bio weapons at the same time. Those two aren't mutually exclusive, a person creating bio weapons can still love someone and have a normal life when they're off the clock.
She didn’t
I recommend people to play the game on hardcore. It is a sincere survival horror experience that way.
When we can play as Rose with super powers, its like a new Parasite Eve. Lol
Just not 3rd birthday lol
And there goes Resident Evil again
Fuck now I want a crossover
If they want to keep it horror oriented (or at least half-horror half-action), Rose will be a main plot character, but not the playable character.
Maybe Mia? She had military training already.
I really hope not
Ada Wong almost appeared in the game but cut. She would be in the village to investigate & would've saved Ethan from the 4 lords too.
And Jill Valentine just went extinct.
@@lokekennee8850 maybe she'll return in 9
i liked this one more than 7. I just love games in a snowy setting. The pacing was in Village pretty awesome. It was not the scariest i agree. But it was more fun than part 7. I don’t do ratings (theyre lame) one person likes different things in a game than someone else.
I prefer 7 but I'm not mad at 8 at all. Was alot of fun. Felt like RE4 in 7s skin
@@keatonburson2996 “felt like RE4 in 7’s skin” now THAT’S something I can agree on.
@WindTheBrave I think 7/10 is a very fair rating for this game. This was my first RE game and I would give it a 6.5 or a 7/10 aswell, but maybe that's because I'm not used to the RE formula. It seems like the game is a great RE game for the hardcore fans, but as a videogame itself, it has major flaws.
@WindTheBrave I think the game has replay-ability, but there are some unskippable parts that I personally wouldn't really want to replay again (The werewolf horde in the beginning, Beneviento House and Heisenberg's factory). These sections drag a little bit and while they were enjoyable in the first playthrough, they're frustrating if you play the game again & again. I can see the 8/10 though, it's a well made game after all.
With how 8 ended I could see Chris being the next protagonist, taking his fight to the BSAA with his WHS. Though I do want a new game with Leon
I know what some devs have said about focussing on Rose but still, They know how the fanbase feels about the Winters and that's why they put that message at the end. Sure Rose will be part of the plot but I see her as an NPC. I don't see us playing as a teenager and doing a time jump is kinda meh. In the future maybe she'll be playable like Sherry Birkin was in RE6.
Plus Rose would be super broken to play as with all her abilities that she knows she has. It's like people saying "Play as Ciri next in the Witcher 4". You wouldn't have a game. Unless they retcon/nerf everything and get rid off the original story beats.
False
Oh no twistedmetalplayer21 said it's all false so it's fact, pack it in boys. What was I thinking, twistedmetalplayer21 is always right about everything, Why do we even bother?
But how are you gonna make a survival horror game with Chris and leon, games like re 5,6 and Chris's section in 8 is exactly what would happen in those scenarios then again maybe you like action packed RE games so you'd like that (not that theres anything wrong with that)
@@Mr.Scott86 You can have survival horror with any of the classic characters. No idea what you're talking about, they simply have to make it SH. No one is forcing them to make it more action just because they were in 5 and 6. Plus it's foolish to not use the huge cast of characters they already have and people love, where it's been years since we've last seen them
@@dblundz I think the point is, we couldn't have survival horror with the classic characters because it wouldn't make sense, they've gone all over the world fighting zombies and monsters for 20+ years, theyre used to it, they're all basically super cop mega soldiers, nothing is an obstacle for them anymore...
I mean just look at Chris in RE8, he blasts his way through the whole village in 5 minutes it takes Ethan like 10-12 hours, look at Leon in RE4 and RE6, literally quipping and joking with monsters, doing sick back flip kicks and dual wielding handguns like god damn Max Payne, there is NO horror or suspense for these characters anymore, it's literally just another day at the office for them.
I actually loved the entire experience, though I feel the villains weren't as fleshed out as in 7, and the Heisenberg boss was an absolute joke. Besides that and not fleshing out the story enough, I really loved it - it felt like it had more RE DNA in it than 7 did, and was a perfect blend of tense action and horror, like the perfect blend of the first 4 games and 7.
Yeah, would have been cool to fight Heisenberg in his human form. Having the bosses mutate into huge monsters has been done too many times.
Miranda used mimicry to use both Mia and the old hag to guide you into doing things for her while she prepared for the ceremony. you discover in the Lord's writings that she didn't really care about the villagers or her children because they were failed experiments in her eyes and that's why she gave 4 of the flasks of each of them so she could guide Ethan to clean up their failed experiments and retrieve the flasks. Remember he needed both Ethan and Rose for the ceremony and after you kill the last Lord, you've done her job and that's when she shows up to stop you because your usefulness is at an end
That does make sense. I didn't realise the old lady was Miranda the whole time (I know she shows herself as the old lady during her fight, but thought she was just showing all the people she could turn into).
@@ChiragQuest I'm fairly certain she did that intentionally as torture Ethan a little more over the fact she led him along so easily because he was do anything to get Rose back, even take advice from crazy old ladies who give him cryptic messages.
it makes me wonder though if the old hag is real and still alive somewhere or if Miranda killed off so that it wouldn't arouse suspicion if any of the villagers found out that there were 2 old bags because that could ruin her plans with Ethan.
"I don't like playing hardcore because zombies take too many bullets to kill" they're not zombies they're lycans. What the hell do you expect??? 🙄
I sometimes agree with them regarding other game genres but for horror games, people have better options when it comes to reviewers. 🤦
so them being Lycans changes the fact...how? Besides wtf are Lycans even doing in a RE game? it's fucking stupid.
@@lostconciousness4255 so zombies are not stupid? Even though zombies aren't real? Wow 👏 you think RE7 had zombies? They were mold mutants ffs.
I feel like 10 will be the one Resident Evil game to bring back everyone. 10 is a very important number.
Yes.
The Roman numeral.
10?
Nah, imagine Resident Evil 13.
They gotta bring their A game for that.
Rumour says that RE9 will be the final act of Ethan's story and the final numbered resident evil game.

VoS needs an initial playthrough to be unlocked though...

@Kermit Peanut OK WE GOT IT
I'd like to point out that Evelien is like "Oh Ethan, you died at the Baker house three years ago and now you are a mold person!" meanwhile Mia got an Axe to the neck and shot several times and she's just fine.
Ethan gave Mia the antidote near the end of RE7 not knowing he was infected as well
Uh, yeah. Mia is also a mold person. She spent a few years at the Baker Estate.
@@devindalton4688 no shes not she was an infected she never died just infected while Ethan DID die, Mia's regeneration was due to the mold which was cured at the end of 7

Wish they at least had the ink ribbons on the hardest difficulty.
Some people think that Ethan's daughter Rosa is aging quick but slowing down as she gets older
Never mind I see you already know that lol
Like a Puppy! 🐶
Real quick note about the daughters voice lines
The line about loving her is explained by a file in the concert hall. The bugs that she is made of secrete a pheromone to make humans fall in love with her. I think that's what the "everyone else was so happy" line references too. Probably doesn't work on him because he's dead.
And the other thing about Lady D not liking his blood but the daughters do. The daughters are made of bugs and bugs like dead and rotting things. That's not confirmed, but I think that's the implication.
It's kinda weird when they said this game is not survival horror but at the same time they don't want to play on hardcore either.
You shouldn't have to play on a specific difficulty to get the most out of the Game.
@@cjmk5923 yes and no. Casual you have to know the game is basically a 1st person shooter with tons of ammo. I Heard- standard was still too easy. I played Hardcore 1st and it was about right. They should’ve said hardcore was the “true experience” in the description when selecting the game mode
@@cjmk5923 *Cough* Uh Alien Isolation clearly says Hardcore is recommended soooo I don't see your point.
@@HipsterDog-do3mm yeah Hard mode was recommended. Then they made nightmare which was crazy hard. Fun tho

The boss fights of RE games:
Resident Evil 0: Duo fight in an elevator
Resident Evil 1: Someone throws you a Bazooka
Resident Evil 2: Someone throws you a weapon from above
Resident Evil 3 (Original): You destroy nemesis with a railgun
Resident Evil 4: Ada throws you a bazooka
Resident Evil 5: Chris punches a boulder
Resident Evil 6: Doesn't exist
Resident Evil 7: Chris throws you a gun
Resident Evil 8: Nothing... Seriously nothing?!
Resident Evil Code Veronica: You are given a railgun
There is a pattern, and sadly RE 8 Village really derails here regarding boss fights, it would've been much better if Lady D would've arrived in the end above and thrown Ethan a super weapon or even the knife. There was a potential for Lady D to become the next Ada, or equivalent, but no. Big sadness.
alex thinking dialogue is cringy yet doesnt understand the context behind makes me lol
Do you think this dialogue is good? Context or not it's still terribly written.
Yo Alex is trippin. A 5?? 😂😂😂😂 stop it
That wasn't a retcon, they started development of 8 almost a whole year before 7 even came out. The story is written to explain something they never did in 7. Chris didn't explain himself to Ethan because they thought he could have been infected by Miranda, and if they tested him right there and then they'd have thought so even more so since he WAS mould and all lol. Also the scariness tone down made some of us happy, that's clearly a taste thing not an actual mark against the game.
Finally someone who understand
Lol
Who the hell did it make happy that they toned down the scariness?

Miranda helped guide you as the old lady because Heisenburg was right, she wanted you to kill off her failed experimental "children" and gather the parts of rose for her.
Why would she want you to gather the parts for her when she was the one who gave the parts to them?
Telling a japanese company to seek outised help with something it's like asking an orange tree to give you apples.
Well, they did get help in RE6.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
IMO you literally need to play this game on hardcore for it to feel anywhere near survival horror, Village of Shadows is ridiculous but standard is FAR too easy.

Random fact: Cadou in Romanian means present, though i guess for context in RE8 it can most probably be translated as gift. Even more so based on the files.
He is always there because he has garlic hanging around him to keep the vampires away from him.
The t-virus and other strains of the -virus series are not apart of the megamycete. They come from the “progenitor” down in Africa. The mold and t-virus strains are two separate things. Spencer just made his initial discoveries into bio weapons starting with the megamycete.

Happily surprised you guys did an extended discussion for this game!
"There was not a single time where you were hurting for ammo or needed a medkit..." My man were we playing the same game? I mean if you played on normal maybe put I was praying for ammo in Hardcore. I had to fight one of the daughters with only the knife, and I lost to Moreau for 2 hours straight because I didn't have enough ammo to kill him...
What the fuck were you doing then, lmao? Were we playing the same game? I never used the knife, EVER, nor did I ever really have to scrounge for ammo.
On the topic of Ethan coming back: His heart was removed & was put supposedly somewhere, right?
How much of a mold man is needed to grow a full Ethan? This could be that answer.
I mean he wasn't alive, just barely functioning to kill miranda
We've played as Leon, Chris, Claire, and Jill so many times. Let a new story be told. That's what I liked about Ethan in 7. He didn't have a "been there done that" attitude to what was on screen. Would love to play as Rose in 9. The time skip sets us up for a lot of new possibilities.
In my personal opinion i really enjoyed re8, the tall guy with the beard is overly critical. Re has never been a full on horror exp, re has always been horror with a protagonist that can empower you enough to fight the horror. What hes suggesting in terms of "horror" is silent hill type of horror which is on another level. As a father i was happy with how capcom gave ethan the passion and persistence to keep going for his little one. Yes chris was used in a ridiculous way but ethans story was a good one, enough so for me to play it all over again. Props to capcom for keeping re alive.
I feel like these guys have never played RE 4
They are just a bunch of money lovers not old gamers
the reason why one of the dautghters was surprised he didn't love her is because they are bugs that take the shape of a female to attract males, but i guess Ethan is immune to it since he isn't normal. she even says that everyone else loved it
It’s important to note that the Megamycete is different from Progenitor. In the note from Spencer he states that he was her medical student and that he learned a lot from her and respected her. BUT he discovered the Progenitor in Africa and it is NOT the same thing as the Megamycete. Miranda may be indirectly responsible for the other resident evil games but her and the Megamycete are not involved or responsible for the original resident evil events. Spencer basically took knowledge from her and likes the symbol of the four lords. That’s about the extent of Miranda’s involvement with umbrella and the t and g virus.
