I loved the fourth wall breaking that was fantastic
Notice at 44:04. When Rick says Humans in the middle, everybody who was a human put their hand in flat but Shane, the Thing put in a fist.........
Shane proving that Honesty regardless of circumstance is the best way to win in a game of deceit.
I was so pumped for shane the whole time.
Shane played his game so perfectly and he only swore to god before he became the Thing so he technically didn't lie or do anything wrong he played everyone so well this game night and the charades game night were definitely the two best ones.
Oh my goodness, Shane did so good! I was so proud of him!
Shane has the fact that I think most of the time they assume he has no idea what's going on or how to play 😂
Love the the introduction & explanation makes understanding whats going on easier :)
Oh and the cute scenes 👍🏽
Same I’m obsessed with this channel now!
Aww Calvin looked so sad when he made a mistake. That made me die inside just a little. I'm glad, he technically won too with Shane. And Eric in that ending was so hurt. XD
Shane you little devil, played everyone like a fiddle
This was honestly a film itself, in a way. Very entertaining
That was literally the best game night I’ve ever seén
ya , was well put together and i was excited to see if shane could pull it off.
Omg when Eric convinced Calvin to tie himself up i literally cried of laughing XD
Do you know if Calvin could have tied Eric up so he could not get killed and forced them to take him?
This new format was excellent; from the mini interviews throughout the game to the up front explanation in the very beginning. Made the whole experience much more enjoyable. I also like the new camera angles you used so I could see everyone and the board as clearly as possible. Reminds me a lot of Wil Wheaton's Table Top. I hope going forward that all game nights will be like this (when possible). Keep up the great work!
Was thinking the exact same thing!!! Would love if they keep this format!!
I like the explanation at the beginning
one of my favorite game nights in a while honestly
Shane played that so well. I was actually rooting for him to win lol. Poor Eric :(
I love the cutscenes.
The Introduction is great from a video design perspective. I may be stating the obvious but it really helps the viewer understand and immerse themselves more into the video. Great addition to Game Nights and it really bumps up the professional value :). Thanks again for making such enjoyable videos!
Really appreciate the rule establishment beforehand! Never been able to get as into game nights as I'd like, this makes it a lot easier to follow along.
Only minor thing is that split camera view takes some getting used to, had to train myself to remember to look at Calvin and Aaron down below!
That was a great game. And the cuts, the intro explanation, and just the general amount of work put only made the video better, so awesome job guys!
GG, Shane. That was incredible.
57:35 This was my favorite part. What Eric said plus how perfectly it was edited to hold the silence of him staring at the camera reminded me so much of The Office 😂😂😂
Shane rekt them all. Shane totally played all of them
Shane casually says he can put in a sabotage and they just chuckle it off 😊
Breaking of the forth wall clips are genius and engaging. Due to the overall nature of the game and the movie it fits perfectly.
Absolutely awesome
I had no idea they had a game of The Thing, the whole concept of the creature in the movies is fucking terrifying. The Thing is probably why I have trust issues.
Edit: Shane played all of you guys!
U know Calvin is the thing because this is the only time he’s not being loud or yelling lol, he’s so quiet and not trying to draw attention 😂
This might be the coolest thing I’ve seen in the Internet. How is this not trending at number 1?
Somehow I'm so invested hahaha
Edit: wahahahhaha PLOT TWIST
Wanted the game to end with the Blood test revealing none of them was the Thing and Shane revealing it in the end
Calvin didn't die so he wins with Shane in the Helicopter
This format with the confessionals was fantastic. Great job!
This was so good! I would so love to see this game played again, and I hope cut scenes and the beginning explanations are left in for future game nights!
Holy crap! That was an amazing game night!! I also really love the format!
Also, Shane was amazing!
Someone watched Wil Wheaton's Tabletop episodes! ;)
I like the new additions! Now we need a round of Battlestar Galactica (at least one!)
loving the production you guys are putting into your original content... keep it up lads
That was amazing! We need more of this!
Rick is a great addition to blind wave and that intro was really great
Liking the new format :D
This was an amazing episode and i loved everything about it
this new format really improved the viewing experience
Good Job guys!
Couldn't help but grin every time a cut-scene had someone talking about how much they trusted Shane. It was so hilarious in a sinister kind of way.
There is something amazing about going into a burning building to investigate, using a fire extinguisher, and then throwing down a molotov during the investigation XD
It's so heartbreaking watching Eric constantly trusting Shane when you know that he's the bad guy 😭
Just a caveat that I wanted to point out, even though this video is old: when playing this game, you never roll more than 6 dice, for anything
I'm only watching this now. And I love how in the cut scenes, Eric has emphasized how he and Shane trust each other so much, making his betrayal more brutal. 😂
One of my horror horror movies of all time
I loved the introduction with rick explaining the rules. It made understanding the game easier. Plus aesthetically it was a more pleasing intro to wet my appetite.
Thanks rick for the introduction
Good explanation, fun game night
You gotta watch this game with the Thing theme on repeat in the background. So much fun.
production on point, great work as always guys x
What a great ending. Hilarious!
Came for the clarification on how to play this game, stayed for the entertainment. This was super fun to watch, well done guys!! :D
You guys need to play this again, still my favorite party game. I love the The Thing!
Shane ;( what a beast he was in this gamenight
I just realized the reason Rick chose to be the scientist is because you always have to take them on missions and if he got infected and became the thing there was nothing the crew could have done they'd have to take him on the missions and they would all be sabotaged and he would have easily won. No wonder Aaron always mistrusts Rick!
Best Game Night episode, very entertaining from begging to end. Shane killed it.
Even though it prolongs the game a little without being necessary, I find it far more fun to select the people to go on the helicopter and then reveal the blood cards one by one even if the final captain is infected!
Bring back Board Game Days!!!
Keep up with the Wall Breaking!
Shane and Calvin was basically the perfect combo and I think that Calvin fucked up worked perfectly for Shane. As they thought they know who the thing is and they trusted Shane, it was quite easy for him to sneak in. So the end reminds me a bit of the fearless Vampire killers.
I don't like the potential player elimination in this game, though. Also a bit weird that you can basically exclude one player from the game entirely. That's not good game design for a game of this length.
Really sad that the game night did not get continued. Calvin and Shane always make me smile.
Calvin did so bad that it distracted from Shane doing so well.
Very happy I watched the whole thing(pun intended). Very satisfying ending.
30:14
Aaron: so we draw 5 now right?
Rick: no not right now.
Aaron:*proceeds to have a stroke*
The confessional scene about the rope is too funny
GREAT VIDEO GUYS! There is a new versión of the game by Pendragon, you should totally play it, it has new mechanics and i had so much fun with my friends.
Great video!! After watching I played twice this weekend at 5 ands we got stomped. There is really no need, in a 5 player game, with 2 imitations, to not actively sabotage the group. We got defeated once by failed missions, and once by destroying 2 rooms that had aliens. I didn't hear you mention it, but when a room is destroyed, whatever is on the chit is lost from the game. So, if at any time you lose too many of the required items, it is game over.
Loved the cutaways, one of the best game nights yet. 👍
Best game night you guys have done yet. So good.
This is quite possibly the funniest thing i've watched all week xD
I love them taking turns talking to the camera with their hypothesis's. And poor Eric.
Calvin is correct (at the half way point), Rick improperly described the rules by stating a Sabotage card will automatically fail a mission... only SOME of the Sabotage cards automatically fail a mission, while most just need to be solved... not fair to Calvin... the Captain can only roll a max of SIX dice (Rick rolled nine dice on one of the earlier missions
Next Time in: The Office
How this was edited was perfect, understood the game and now I have to finish this cause I'm all hooked in
That was beautiful. Shane played you all like a fiddle
That was the best game night ever! Poor Eric, don't feel bad Shane it's what you had to do.
That was fun to watch! ^^
The only problem I see with the game is that there is no reason to try to sabotage anything...
No one should tell what card is played, it kinda ruins any Thing's move.
This was my only issue as well. If it's not a rule then I'd make it one. No saying what cards you're playing.
Finally got around to watching this. Shane is the man.
Rick doing the explanation at the begining alone is solid. I like it 👍
The max dice you can roll against the Thing is 6.
The Dice Vs The Thing are rolled like Yahtzee dice. You keep what you want and keep rolling till you run out of rolls.
That was hilarious. I love these betrayal games!
I loved this Game Night!
Don’t know if you eventually notice but you can keep dice like Yahtzee!
Okay... I'm fucked- Calvin 2018
Hope they do a few more The Thing game nights. And a Star Wars pen & paper game night series. Honestly shocked they haven't done that yet.
Hopefully there is a second round. It’d be really interesting to see how Eric’s trust towards Shane plays out.
So I forgot that I watched this on Patreon and got all excited thinking they were playing a round 2.
I've been watching blind wave for years and just noticed eric has no eyebrows
Great game! I ended up watching the whole episode.
This is the thing! Keep it coming! GR8 Blind Wave!
I hope for Halloween we can get a reaction to The Thing with the group dressed as the characters they were in the game.
Carpenter's "The Thing" is The GOAT
Great stuff, love this game night !
Great game night! Love the cut away scenes reminds me of The Office.
57:35 I got goosebumps because of how eerily Dwight Schrute(y?) that was of Eric to say ☠️☠️☠️
Every second was AMAZING
In a way Shane played it perfectly, none of them knew he was the thing till they tried to escape, just like the movie.. could be the one you least expect
Awesome play through 👏🏻
Shane almost gave himself away when he said if Eric gets chosen then we do the blood tests. Surprised no one caught that
This was interesting...I love the recording parts. XD
This is extremely similar to the Battlestar Galactica Bored game. had the same basic system for solving challenges and selecting 1-2 traitors.
apex2000 Similar, but simpler and much much quicker. I’d still say Battlestar Galatica is the better game if you have 5 players who know how to play it, but The Thing is easier to get to the table.
Rick
The Thing is Among Us before it was cool.
Watching this play out was hilarious xD
