Dazed and confused at the 11foot8 bridge

- Just another Friday afternoon at the 11foot8 bridge: wrong turn onto the one-way street, truck crashing into the 11foot8 bridge plus gridlock and general mayhem. Soon the new traffic lights will put an end to all these shenanigans. Enjoy!

I hafta feel bad for this guy, I mean he obviously spent a lot of time thinking up this strategy. "I'll turn the wrong way to fake out the bridge then when its not looking I'll sneak through...."
+Steven Lamb Now he's thinking, "I should have gone *faster*."
+Steven Lamb Thanks for making my day start out with a laugh.
Steven Lamb OMG hahaha
haha good one
Thought he could outsmart the bridge and the bridge said: " you think that I was yesterday."
This one gets the award for the most effort put into hitting the bridge.
" Soon the new traffic lights will put an end to all these shenanigans. Enjoy!"
Wanna bet?
+Harry Andruschak - Agreed. At the other bridge a few blocks away, there is a stop light just a few feet BEFORE the bridge. It doesn't slow down the over limit trucks. They still hit the bridge. These drivers don't pay attention to the truck's height or the bridge height. These videos are funny.
CountryLifeTales Indeed, the biggest problem with this channel is that we have *NEVER* had any kind of interview or comments from the drivers involved. So we still have no real idea to the question, "What were they thinking?".
+Harry Andruschak Well, I asked several drivers if they'd be willing to do an interview - I even promised a free t-shirt, if they did! No one bit! I wonder why ... But the answer to your question usually was either "I did not see the sign" or "I did not realize the truck was too tall"
yovo68 Not see the sign? I have severe nearsightedness, astigmatism, a stroke in the right eye that takes away about half my vision...and I still see signs. I have always thought, myself, that the crashes were caused by texting, cell phone usage, or paying too much attention to the GPS. As usual, my three cats have not endorsed this opinion >^..^>
+yovo68 It looks like a large number of the trucks that get caught are rentals, so its not too surprising the drivers arent familiar with how large the truck they are driving really is.
This driving demonstrated here looks strikingly like me playing GTA3 when I was 9.
AlterNateHeaDacHe Lol one of the best comments I've ever seen!
I knew it wouldn't happen, but I was so hoping that he'd back up a few feet and take another run at making it under the bridge.
I waited for it too, but I wasn't sure he wouldn't have another go at it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who wanted that to happen.
I said it out loud! “Try again, you can do it!”
@@hireahitCA my head - 'oh, FUCK YEAH HE'S GONNA GO FOR IT AGAIN' XD
I thought he was going to try again.
He should have reversed and tried again with more speed.
then when he failed again, try it at very low speed like some do.
This driver has a room-temperature IQ.
+Code3Paris In Celsius!
That's being generous..
I'd say his IQ was below zero
WAY to generous. That's giving room-temperature IQ people a bad rap....This dude has the IQ of dirt....
Room-Temp IQ you kidding me, this driver is ice cold.
This driver put a lot more effort into hitting the bridge than most...
Also very impressed with the choreographed efforts of the cars to make it even worse.
Some people have jobs to get to and can’t afford to sit there in the danger zone for ten minutes while dipshit figures out where he actually wants to go
"Is that truck gonna do it?"
"No, they turned the other way..."
"Wait isn't that a one way... oh yeah they're doing it"
"There it goes! It was that truck after all!"
Man, that was just a mess all around. The cars were just as bad as the truck, driving on the wrong side of the road, blocking each other, honking, etc.
You're allowed to be on both sides of a one-way street...
He's probably talking about the black car coming from the left at 1:20, that's a two way street.
Test Account Please Ignore Yeah and the idiot was going to pass through the intersection like it was green when actually the lights are shrouded and it's a 3 way stop.
I guess, the people living there are not used to face road works and thousands of orange cones everyday. Or just traffic in general...
well what do you expect from holders of a US drivers license?
This easily the best one so far, like seriously, so much herp for one derp.
Wasn't just the truck driver confused! Watch the silver car at 1:50 go to make a 3 point turn to get out of the way of the truck and the idiot behind pulls forward to block his maneuver
+HughzieTube Also the guy coming from the left who just HAD to get through that intersection.
+HughzieTube I noticed that too
I woulda pulled forward too that guy was a clown trying to make a 3 point.
+totallytempo He was making a 3 point turn but he ending up _trying_ to make a 3 point turn _because_ of clowns like you.
He was an idiot for trying to make a 3 point turn at a busy intersection that was already in chaos. He should have just gone straight ahead.
I count a total of 10 people that added something dumb to this scenario... Thats a new record!
It is almost like that was ground zero for an idiot virus
Not surprising. I've found life to be much less stressful if you assume and expect that all people are complete idiots. This way there are no expectations and if proven wrong, then it's a nice surprise and we take it from there.
@@LeeMastr What a nice trick. I'll give it a try
if this happened in my city, there would be an ocean of very agressive car horns sounds added to the audio track
and also lots of people going at 40 mph around the retards who can't move out of the way
Do you know the feeling when the world closes around you and you can't find the way out? That driver definitely got to know it there! I'm surprised he actually found out he was going the wrong way first, maybe two lanes with oncoming traffic is really efficient to let them know.
"whoops I forgot to hit the bridge, my bad"
*Turns around
The reason that he turned around was because he was going the wrong way on a one way street. That was the only thing that he did right (after his first mistake).
Great comment 😂
"Is that gonna be him? Oh, no; he's turning nvm."
(Hears reverse beeps) "Waaaaaaaaaaait"
(Sees the back of the truck coming onto screen) "Noooooo..."
Some say that Prius is still waiting at that stop sign.
What in the world is their ongoing issue that they are completely paused? So many opportunities.
@@Kidiot laughing and enjoying the scene?
No they don't.
@@GypsyLeah that prius is still waiting at the stop sign today, frozen in shock...
the crash itself is hilarious, but that '08 Avalon making a 16-point turn sent my sides to the fucking moon
If I lived near there I would go out of my way to avoid this intersection no matter what I was driving.
Legends say to this day, a silver car haunts the intersection waiting to proceed.
This looks like how my friend deals with driving in GTA5. He doesn’t understand the map and in central downtown he always hits that low bridge no matter how many times he has hit it before.
In terms of car-nage, this one's a dud. In terms of "dazed and confused", a classic.
This is getting weird. Every time I am reminded of this channel and think "man, I haven't seen a new fool hitting the bridge in a while", and then boom a new video within 24 hrs. Second time this has happened... I will do more research into this correlation...
AceInvader If a video didn't come, then you wouldn't have thought anything of it...
Law of attraction, bro haha
Andrew Williams No shit. That wasn't the point of the comment now was it?
or causation perhaps?
law of attraction!

It's amazing that none of those commercial drivers has a clue how tall their rig/load is!!
I can't say I've been in many rental trucks, but every one I have been in has a big sticker on the dash telling you the height, many of them have it written backwards on the box too so you see it whenever you look in your mirror.
I've been in that boat - driving a truck with no idea of how tall it is or where I was going. Both commercial for a living in all size trucks, and renting box trucks too.
You know what I did? I went around - don't even chance it - there is always a truck route that is safe up to semi heights of 14 feet or whatever it is. That's what they are for.
some people think rules and signs don't pertain to them. They drive like "that bridge will move for me!"
Me: Isn't that a one way???
Truck: Beep.. beep.. beep.. Psht...
Me: Dumbass. Yeah now turn the wheels right and hammer it!
Truck: Vroom vroooo CRUNCH!!
Me: OMFG HE DID IT!!!!!!!!
*DEAD*
I think the Toyota prius more confuse just sitting there the whole time thinking what the hell I'm gonna do now that truck in the way. ;)
He just couldn't do anything right! He should've just stayed home that day.
+Bad Drivers Of Napa Valley lol didn't know you watched these as well!
Mario NotLuigi
Oh of course. My day is never complete without a box truck going from 25 to 0 instantly, with shrapnel flying everywhere.
+Bad Drivers Of Napa Valley You just wish Napa Valley had such a Darwinian device.
JoeOvercoat
Haha, I do!! It kills me I don't live near an exciting street corner. If I did, I'd have a camera mounted in the sky watching all the time.
Bad Drivers Of Napa Valley should've called in sick
1:43 - The driver of the yellow taxi has some serious skills!
For some reason, I don't think a green light and any amount of notification will stop a speeding rental truck.
+neodude237 The installation does appear to include a very large electronic sign, but "that sign is not for me, I'm driving a truck...stand aside!"
They need road spikes to come up and flatten all 6 tires!
Best part is how the lady watching it is completely calm. She knows what's up
This makes me feel better about my screw ups back when I drove lorries
I can't wait for the day I can say when I use to drive tractor trailers with a joint hanging out f my mouth, for now I need the money.
This video needs a "DERP" counter for this guy.
Everything happening in this intersection is an absolute mess
yup. you can't fix stupid,
I spent so much time laughing, I forgot what I was going to comment.
The Trifecta, went the wrong way on a one way street, failure to obey a traffic signal (low bridge), and leaving the scene of an accident. Pull his license.
Was he suppose to sit blocking traffic? Couldn't they have given him a ticket for that too? No where for him to pull over and wait for a ticket. lol
The left lane was still open. Anyone that stupid deserves a couple of tickets.
I agree.
ffjsb He was the only vehicle involved. I am not expert, but so long as he reports it, so he can be liable for any bridge damage, he should be OK to leave. I would have. Continuing to block the intersection posses a hazard to others.
Somewhat related: A pet peeve of mine is when there is a minor accident, and the vehicles involved just stop where they are. To my knowledge, and certainly what I would do, it is preferred you move your vehicle out of the way, provided it can be moved. Sitting still in a busy road is a good way to cause a pileup, especially in the cell phone age.
/rant
You still can't leave. Especially a commercial driver.
And I agree on moving cars out of the way for minor accidents.
How did that truck driver not know the height of his truck? if he looks in the mirror it clearly says what his height is
mirror? oh, how about that. I bet he didn't notice a mirror there.
that guy must been home sick on drivers ex day. clear signs for one way also has white center line meaning a one way clearly marked height clearance and no excuse to not know the height of your truck that's the drivers responsibility to know before even moving the truck
Who knew so many funny things could happen at one intersection!? This is by far the best video I have seen on here
Here is the sequence of his thoughts 1st "ohhh no, i'm not dealing with that bridge" phase 2 "God damnit can't run away from my fears" (ques rocky theme song) Phase 3 drives into bridge Phase 4 heads home with tail inbetween legs thinking "i got my ass kicked by a 150+ year old bridge"
I like how the lady is about to cross the street but decides to watch the whole fiasco from start to finish, like she sees it coming
Maybe he thought since there were 2 signs, I add them up. That would be 23' 4" in total; more than enough...
The driver can't resist the 11foot8. The bridge said "come to mama baby"
0:50 DON'T DO IT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
try this sped up 2x with benny hill theme playing on another tab. youll thank me later.
I was seriously waiting for him to make a second attempt to go under.
I think he was obeying instructions from his satnav. Many truck drivers use car satnavs because they are cheaper, but they can lead them into situations where a truck can't get through.
Good idea. Just sit still and block traffic. That will solve everything. Pure genius.
Lordy, I half expected them to back up and have another go at it, bless their heart.
i don't think the driver made a wrong turn... he just wanted to be immortalized on youtube ^_^
+fabulousprofound "Wait, is that the famous bridge?" *slams brakes, backs up to make a run at it*
Man that took commitment, to REVERSE INTO AN INTERSECTION and do a THREE POINT TURN just to self-yeet into the bridge
These glorious idiots. I love them. They installed sooo much stuff around that, and still we have this guy. It looks like it has some new flashy lights. Thank you for this channel.
Diese Typen lernen es nie !
Grüße aus dem fernen Hamburg ...
:-)
White straight body truck said...
- " I had to go under there ! All i wanted to do, was crack open a walnut !!! Some of them have a hard shell, you know, and i did forgot my nutcracker... "
A fresh shipment of schadenfreude
I never get tired of this. He knew that he couldn't fix but tried it anyway.
I’ve never seen someone try so hard to steer themselves into the WRONG direction.
He can't resist the call of the 11foot8 bridge. It demands blood.
This truck driver is clearly challenged in the IQ department.
*turns left*
OH. WAIT. WAIT! I WANT TO BE ON THE INTERNET!
*backs up*
A major DERP moment. And interesting how it took this long to install traffic lights, especially after that hit and run crash awhile back
Even though the damage is pretty minimal here, I have to say this probably the most hilarious 11foot8 video I've seen. What a clown.
This was my favorite since he realized he couldn't do it but went Leeroy Jenkins anyway.
Not only should that driver not be allowed to drive, he shouldn't even be allowed to reproduce.
My theory is that the driver saw the warning signs, and called their boss for instructions. Meanwhile, the light turned green, so they took the safe turn. But the boss told them "no, no, you go the route I told you to go or you'll pay the fuel from your own pocket", and thus the T-turn and crash.
That doesnt explain the going down the one way street. Less he were that green.
Bisqwit that actually sounds logical
What a fluster cluck!!
But these shenanigans can't end! They bring so much entertainment!
Oh, even if that light is rigged to turn red when an oversized truck approaches, I'm sure there will some that don't realize they're wrong and bonk the truck into that crash bar.
truck manages to go left, right, and straight in one intersection
locals must be like, 'no that ain't it either!'
Oh, how I will miss this.
This is my favorite 11'8" clip.
this guy is extra special.
Man he really doesn’t care much about being in peoples’ way.
This bridge is like the Bermuda Triangle, where commonsense vanishes without a trace!
I love what you named this!
He turned around like "oops I forgot to hit that bridge"
LMFAOOO
That's what pop used to call a love tap
That's a new one..
The truck sitting there was like when you block the progress of bees.
That was some next level stuff.
The call of the bridge is strong... he couldn't escape it even though he tried
The traffic lights might increase the number of crashes because people will see the stoplights & ignore the high vehicle warning lights just beyond (unless traffic lights are linked to a height sensor). Also if a truck tries to beat the stoplight it could result in more high speed crashes.
Oh man this is a good one.
Wow this guy shouldn't even have his class D license never mind a class B...
If this winds up being the last 11foot8 video, it is a satisfying finale. =)
To this day, the bridge is still hungry and drivers are still dumbfounded.
Two years later, we've just had 2 hits in 2 days (and the second one is extra derpy).
I think Lucy was driving and Ethel was riding shotgun. Looks like something they'd do to prove a point to the boys. When Ricky saw the damaged reefer, you know he said: "Loosey, jou got a lot a 'splainin' to do!" To which Lucy said: "Waaah"!
Pretty sure Lucy would have hit the bridge while still in reverse.
These people really are "Dazed And Confused", if in that condition, they shouldn't be behind the wheel!!!!
That was theatrical.
I backed up the video when I saw the truck come into frame, backing up, because I thought wait a minute, wasn't that the truck that just made the left turn?...
Two VERY wrong maneuvers in a quick succession. Wow! That is a special kind of stupid! My mouth was hanging open in suspense waiting to see what he'd do next! :D
There’s a lot to unpack here
This is probably the best
This has to be my favorite. Glad it wasn't the last.
It’s like a black hole. These trucks are utterly drawn to what is their doom. 😂😂😂. How can this keep happening?! But it does.
but the bridge double dog dared me!
This must be the winner
I saw the truck driving away and thought „okay maybe another truck then“ but boy was I wrong
KNOW HOW TALL YOUR VEHICLE IS, AHEAD OF TIME! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
TO ALL TRUCKERS: STOP, PUT YOUR FLASHERS ON, GET OUT AND EXAMINE THE SITUATION, ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS A SIGN.
Can we get a live webcam of this bridge...
Any body else note the three vehicles going straight through the "STOP" sign without stopping at 0.22 et sec ?
"If I drive really, really slow, I can make it - almost!" DOH! 🚛🚒🚜🚐🚍💸😂
