    I believe the poke flute pidgeot deck isnt for the pidgeot to deal damage against basics on the bench, its for the victreebell to bring those basic pokemon that most likely have 60hp or less to the active slot to get one shotted each turn

    • @mikeobama69
      @mikeobama69 3 дні тому

      Problem is it's a low damage slow deck which can find trouble even killing anything to get that flute ready to use

      It's kind of a win/win combo. Can either tie it into the Pidgeot Ex or the Victoreebell. Though I agree it's probably more for the latter in that specific deck since they only have the one Pidgeot Ex.

    Maaan I did not see gyarados becoming tier 1, from what I could tell everyone's first impression was that it looked kinda mid. Looking at it more closely, it does synergize with Misty and it's only stage 1 just like arcanine and we know how popular that one got, not to mention it also 1 shots mewtwo with giovanni, pikachu, celebi, etc.. and it being stage 1 means its faster to set up than a charizard. Really big surprise tho, once we get more consistency support to other elements we're gonna see another shift and thats coming soon on a bigger expansion.

      People bothered to read all the stuff besides the 140 damage while not realizing the point of the card is to do 140 damage. Can sometimes do a cute play of attaching no energy before attacking with it though to increase the odds of discarding an opposing energy since AFAIK 4 energy on opponents side and 4 energy on your side means a 50% chance to discard their energy.

    • @Auramaki_

      Also can potentially one shot Charizard with Greninja or druddigon

    • @Flaris
      @Flaris 2 дні тому

      That's why you always have to wait and see how things will go. Consistent raw power, high health, and being a stage 1? Yeah, that was a card with the tools to be great. And they gave it a nice Magikarp to work with. So you can slap energy on that thing and not lose it while sending it to the backline to power up.

    My dream snorlax ex would be something like 170 hp, 4 retreat cost, 3 cost rest: this ability uses up two energy. Fully heal snorlax and become asleep. 1 cost, sleep talk: 150 damage to 1 pokemon your opponent controls. What you guys think? Too strong? :)

    • @littlezero6399
      @littlezero6399 4 дні тому +2

      I guess I should clarify I mean 1 random pokemon will be hit by sleep talk and it can only be used if snorlax is asleep. And maybe rest should be 4 cost and lose 3 energy? There is always the coin flip that snorlax will wake up and not be able to use sleep talk. I just want it to be usable but not extremely broken.

    • @hanifuimuran1123

    • @jimtsap04
      @jimtsap04 3 дні тому +1

      Definitely too strong maybe stage 1 evolves from muchlax, and have sleep talk deal less damage, say 120,
      Compared to pidgeot ex that's already almost pretty good it it's stage 1 instead of stage 2, even tankier, and deals slightly less but more consistent damage for basically the same energy cost. And if you want to make it better you can give munchlax an attack or ability that makes it fall asleep, maybe have it have 70 hp and if it gets hit it falls asleep so it can tank some weak hits and set up an early sleep talk

    • @Zakading
      @Zakading 3 дні тому +1

      @@littlezero6399 I'd give it a first attack that heals 40 and puts it asleep with a second attack being a 2 energy, 160 damage swing only usable if it's asleep.

If its a stall wall u don't need it to attack u want it to buy time so u can count that card out but if its the main pokemon of the deck and obviously highest damage dealing then u make sure it can attack. If its colorless u watch what type of energy other pokemons run

    This tier is very strange.
    Opening each deck in top 2 tiers, we can see cleary that the 2 under are getting MORE 1ST positions than the others.
    Gyarados doesnt have a single one and Pikachu only one.
    For me mewtwo became even powerfull, killing charizards with mew. New psychic card is something too.
    And we all know how celebi is everywhere in the game right now, fast when needed, and if the opponent stall they became unlimited powerful.
    And where is starmie? I cant believe people are using meme decks like the lower tiers but no starmie articuno at all.

    Pidgeot EX is super underrated. I've been having a lot of success with my Pidgeot, Druddigon, and Tauros deck. It's so good and really fun to play. The moment I laid eyes on Druddigon I knew he was about to change the entire meta, and with poke flute, so does Pidgeot EX. I don't think people realize just how good she is, which, is great for me because I keep winning 😁

    Soon Alakazam decks with high density of psychic types, slab and probably Mew EX too for versatility will start becoming a thing, a lot of energy hungry decks running around atm. People is already countering Gyarados hard with things such as Hitmonlee, Electabuzz and the zebra. If anything, I prefer Starmie variants because with that I have an alternative if I have a slow start with crappy Misty rng, or not drawing them or the Gyarados in time. Decks with stages 1 and 2s tend to be spotty in consistency because of how badly dependent the game is on prof and Pokéball atm.

    11:52 „he specifically mentioned, that charizard is good against mewtwo“ i know you are only reading what he says, but let me explain to you why charizards worst enemy is a mewtwu deck. You can only oneshot mewtwo with charizard. An experienced player will keep a mew on the bench and its GG. Mew copies charizards 200 attack with only 3 energies. Also worth mentioning is that in order to get your charizard fully evolved, it needs time and RNG. Same amount of time and RNG as gardevoir needs in a mewtwu deck. You cant expect to get charizard before he gets gardevoir. Arcanine cant deal with mewtwo either.

    • @Zakading
      @Zakading 3 дні тому

      @@Hs2024-1 Because 80 vs 90 is a HUGE deal considering a lot of breakpoints in the game (even more now with meta relevant ex Pokemon going to 170/180hp), Starmie ex has free retreat cost and you can guarantee starting with Staryu and fetch it with Pokeball. Misty is also a factor as even just boosting its energy to 2 can be game winning and with the free retreat, you can use Vaporeon to great effect, while Aerodactyl lacks any such help. Yes, it's the only stage 1 with a 2 energy attack dealing 80, but considering the extra work required to run it consistently, that should have been 90.

    I'm still unsure how to use the Mythical Slab correctly. Should you activate it before or after a Pokeball or Prof. Research? I feel like top decking a Prof. Research with Slab is really bad, but if you keep pokeball in hand and use it to reshuffle after a failed slab, you lost the 1 card progression towards your Gardevoir. I've seen people use Porygon's ability to make sure the Slab works out, but is it actually worth the slot, while also lowering the odds to get your desired basic pokémon in your starting hand or with pokeball?

    • @realisticsoul7597

      Slab always before pokeball, poke ball will reduce your odds of slab hitting a pokemon

    • @solidzack
      @solidzack 4 дні тому

      @@halcyonacoustic7366 but at the same time you lose the benefit of slab if you hit a non-psychic card. Slab gets you 1 card closer to your key piece, pokeball also gets you one card closer. But pokeball shuffling your deck negates the benefit of slab putting a non-combo piece on the bottom of the deck. If used that way it's like a Misty, where you have a chance to draw a card, but if it fails you either play or don't play your pokeball in hand, in both cases you are only 1 card closer as opposed to 2 when playing pokeball first, then slab.
      The question is: What's the worse outcome? Potentially losing out on the value of Slab or potentially losing the advantage of a Prof. Research?
      Similar question with Slab before or after Research: You could drae into your 2nd Prof. Research or Pokeball with Research, then slab safely, but if you drew pokemon instead you're in a worse position, whereas using slab first yields a lower odds of top decking Research, but it's still a risk.

      @@solidzackI haven't done the testing to confirm myself, but I heard that pokeball doesn't actually shuffle your deck (even though it plays the animation.) Edit: just tested and it totally does shuffle so nvmd lol
