I loved Joey Jordisons drumming. But, hell, Jay Weinberg is magnificent. He showed that already on The Gray Chapter. The drumming on AOV is outlandish.
Orphan and Nero forte is where he shows off his true prowess the guy is arguably better than joey in some aspects. I definitely find his drum fills more enjoyable

Corey quit smoking, so his voice is back and sounds incredible. His screams are awesome!

AMAZING reaction. I appreciated Sistah's breakdown of the lyrics so much. I'm a new subscriber and I've instantly engaged with the way she connects to the music and feels it to the bone. This was also my first time seeing Wolf react to a song he didn't already know. @Rick Ross I get people have their favorites, but your statement basically says you haven't been listening really.
Joey was good no question. But Jay is actually better, and here is why. And perhaps maybe listen for this when you listen to WANYK again. Jay includes more ghost notes and accent fillers between the bass kicks and heavy hits. This accomplishes giving the sound out of the kit a fuller and really heavier sound then added to by the other percussions that now instead of filling that role add to and enhance an already fantastic work of drumming.
But even if that doesn't get you, it's cool. I get it really.

Actually the last album .5 The Gray Chapter featured Jay on drums and Alex (V-Man) on bass so when you listen to Devil in I and Killpop it’s those 2 guys

Corey is by far one of the best vocalists on the planet. He had some neck surgery done a few years ago because of a broken neck after falling during a live show. He also quit smoking and I think the neck surgery, the halt on smoking, getting clean and throwing out alcohol has improved his voice so much. During the era of Iowa, Subliminal Verses, and All Hope Is Gone, his vocals sounded super forced as he was trying to push those screams and yells out. Another reason why he is one of the best vocalists is because he has a vocal range of 7 octaves, allowing him to variate his performance quite a bit and it's amazing.
This new album moved Slipknot way up on my list.

One of my favorite things about Slipknot is how no matter how much they experiment and grow they've always maintained their core sound. Also if you listen to any of the songs that the two percussionists are prevalent on with their parts muted out there is a huge difference.

slipknot have upped their game and this shows as does the rest of the album. so much so the album made the uk number 1 chart which upset simon cowell massively (him and corey taylor have a little fued with each other, might want to check out corey's christmas song closer to the time).

Jay is a beast on drums, I’ve only seen Slipknot live 1 time and Jay absolutely killed on all the old Slipknot classics... I freaking love his drumming and all respect to Joey, I love his drumming and he was a really brilliant drummer on their earlier albums, but I gotta admit I love Jay’s drumming even more, he plays really tight, killer tight fills and he plays with such passion and energy, he can switch from playing really fast to go reaaaaally heavy and groovy, in my humble opinion he is the perfect drummer for Slipknot, it’s like he has brought so much new and fresh energy to the band, I love Jay’s drumming on The Gray Chapter, but man his drumming is brilliant on the new album as well...

I don’t know if you’ve done any Mgła reactions, but from how Sistah is talking about being our own gods and stuff, I think she’d absolutely love Exercises in Futility V. The entire album is absolutely fantastic, especially from a lyrical standpoint, but that song in particular is a masterpiece.
i went to the August 14th concert. 3 days after the concert of the man who passed. RIP. Also they found out who Tortilla Man is. Michael Pfaff who is the keyboardist for Shawn Crahan's side project. Also Jay Weinberg is doing a great job on the drums. I will say this though. Tortilla Man is great on percussion and has great energy, but his vocals need a lot of work. It's almost like he puts no effort into it live. Like during People=Sh*t and other songs that have backup vocals.

The bassists mask kinda looks like a modern version of Red Skull to me...Wolf?? Sistah?? between you two and KelNRich are by far my go to reaction channels. I was wondering if you could react to some lesser mainstream bands and kinda in a way help promote them since most radio stations are biased now? I am not really a fan to any particular band i must "feel" the song did they make the music for profit or from the heart and soul..over the years i have developed the nack to tell at least i like to think so...anyway a few suggestions would be listed below....
ArCania - Rise and Never Fall (close attention to the spelling of the band name) French)
Hiedevolk - Walhalla Wacht (Dutch, but there is a translated version for lyrics)
Angels and Demons - Heaven Denies (collaboration of Iced Earth and Blind Guardian)
Parasite Inc - The Pulse of the Dead (German, To me sounds like a mix of Ramstein and Megadeath with a bit more growling))

There was a giant gap between albums and Joey left while they were still recording the 2014 album. Turns out Jay filled in halfway through and has been touring with them, but this will count as his first album that he was a part of from the very beginning.

I have been a Slipknot fan since day 1. I hope I didn't just date myself. Joey was a beast, especially with that double base. However, constant double base in not needed in all songs, especially the newer Slipknot songs that are a little more melodic. I think Jay is a more well rounded drummer and much better with the melodic side of Slipknot. He is no slouch with the double bass when it is needed either. I think this song is a good example of it. I don't think a band could go wrong with either of them, but I just prefer Jay's style a bit more myself. To each their own.
