@@r.douglassteinhauer90 I tried to fix the sound quality because it's an out-take song. She made it for this movie but it never made the final cut of the film. The audio was the most difficult part so I had to do whatever. Still, my friend, it's better than nothing x

This reminds me of "Lyra" (2007)...
The first 7 or so lines of Lyra are virtually lifted from this piece with some variation of course. It was not included in the film Dinosaur because Bush refused to re-write it. She probably liked what she had written and wanted to use it in a fully fleshed out song.

Never got to see this in the context of the film before. Interesting. But I think I get why it was cut. Those "ooh"s in the intro are quite distracting.
It was cut because Bush refused to rewrite it after they asked her to seeing that it didn’t over go well with preview audiences.

It didn't even make it into the movie? Now that irritates me, considering all the star power and effort they put into making it. I get the feeling that Kate knew more what the movie was about than they did.

The reason it was not included was because the song didn’t go over well with preview audiences. They asked Kate to rewrite it and she refused, so it wasn’t used in the film.
I'm more of a fan of Out of the Storm to the newly added parts for Lyra. I find these parts a bit of a lazy effort, lyrically, when compared to the lyricism of Out of the Storm. The lyrics of Lyra I find don't complement its beautiful melody. They appear rushed and cheesy. The melody is beautiful however.
