For anyone curious the active ingredient in 30 Second Cleaner and Bleach is Sodium Hypochlorite (SH). 30 Second Cleaner has 5% SH and most bleach sold at stores has 7.5% SH. So you can also get more cleaner out of bleach. Your going to want to water it down to 2.5% SH (This is why 30 Second has you put 1/2 water in) but for house bleach 1/3 of the solution should be bleach so it gives you 2.5% SH.
@@Pelosso78 I'm sure you can save money using bleach but I've had great success with 30 sec cleaner. Try a small amount from Lowe's, compare with Bleach (be careful) and decide!
I’ve had good results using oxy clean. It performs as well as 30 second cleaner and worked out cheaper. Evidently a jug of pool chlorine also works really well and is more affordable.
For those who don't know bleach and 30 seconds is basically the same thing. It's sodium hypochlorite, if you look on the back of 30 Seconds it's 5.5% Sodium Hypochlorite. If you look on the label for the bleach it's usually 5-7.5% sodium hypochlorite. 30 Seconds is bleach with a surfactant mixed in and brilliantly marketed to the home owner. In all honesty, you shouldn't even us sodium hypochlorite on wood at all. To clean wood properly look into using sodium percarbonate, sodium metasilicate, or sodium hydroxide. After using these products make sure you use oxalic acid or citric acid to neutralize the pH. It all depends on the amount of organic growth and if you're trying to remove stain as well.
@@greenghost6416 lmao if you think you need a chemist's lab to 8-16 ounces of sodium percarbonate, sodium metasilicate, or sodium hydroxide per gallon of water then I feel sorry for you. Pump up sprayer, water, one of those 3 options, and oxalic acid to neutralize. Seriously looking at only $40 in the proper chemicals to properly clean wood.
I agree the bleach is way better to clean - I switched as well - once you figure these things out you don’t go back - there are a lot of natural or low cost solutions to most of those cleaners but you have to start somewhere - live and learn!!
Make a solution of oxalic acid 1 C per gallon. Wet fence, wet down with oxalic acid, let sit for 10-15 minutes and keep it wet. Rinse heavily. Oxalic acid is dirt cheap. 10 lbs for $9. It neutralizes the bleach wood and brightens it. Let dry and stain.
it depends, if the deck or fence has been neglected like my deck was by myself I might add, your going to want to put something down. Like hasn't been touched in 4 years to five years. If your just cleaning it 2 years old then just pressure wash should do. Also depends on what type of stain/paint was on there. If it was just transparent/semi transparent stain then what I said above applies. The easiest way to know is how does it look when it rains on there. Green, lots of algae or even some green algae, then put a chemical down first before your wash.

Ok 30 seconds is good ? Or no?
@@Pelosso78 It works fine but you can buy normal bleach for much cheaper and get the same result.

Best part of the video “I’m not going to ask you to Like or Subscribe…because I Don’t Care” 😂😂😂
One of the best videos for both products out there down this rabbit hole actually, you made that simple and clear, thank you!
thank you
What rabbit hole?? Oh you mean the one I poked my head in about an hour ago? 🤣🤣

Nobody is going to build a chemist's lab just to clean a damn fence.

Be thankful you have no vegetation...the bleach would make sure you have no vegetation.

Very true, thanks for the nice comment
30 Seconds Cleaner doesn't leave salt behind, but bleach does. RINSE RINSE RINSE Before and after you spray your cleaner.

Your house could use it too and it’s totally safe on that and stucco.. in fact it works on pretty much everything
Thank you, I will try it
Use that on your propane tank too. Spray it on, let it sit for ten minutes then rinse.
Most soft wash companies use bleach with water, a surfactant, and a detergent.
Straight to the point 👏👏❤️🇬🇧
Thank you

Can you do a review on that Stanley 2050 1.4gpm electric pressure washer?.....
Yes I can
And what if you just power washed it without the pre-soak with either bleach or 30 Second?

That stuff is the same ingredient as bleach or pool shock. Pool shock is about 10% and cost $5.
Thnx -appreciate your video and the info!
Thank you!!
Doesn't it kill shrubs?
IDK, I didn't have any around my fence
Dollar Tree has it, and does the same job.
Thank you
All that Time you were promoting 30 second is the best and all the sudden complaining now about it
Did you use 1:1 mix of bleach with water??
I mixed 1/4 bleach to 2 gallons of water
@@michaelrice9894 Thats a 1/4 of a gallon of bleach ?Thanks.
Yes
@@michaelrice9894 You said in an earlier post that you put 1/4 bleach in a 2 gallon sprayer. That would be 1/4 bleach to 7/4 water. Just sayin'
You must have Scottish in your ancestors for sure haha
What’s the ratio of water to bleach that you use?
For a 2 gallon sprayer, I use 1/4 of a gallon of bleach. So you can get 4 filll ups in your 2 gallon spayer per gallon of bleach.
@@michaelrice9894 thank you
Your welcome
I to 1 meaning for a one gallon sprayer use 50% concentrate to 50% water
I figured as much. Thanks for sharing.
Did you dilute your bleach or did you use it straight for strength
For me I would use 1/4 of bleach to a 2 gallon sprayer. Basically I would get 4 fill ups with 1 gallon of bleach in a 2 gallon sprayer

$10 for bleach lol. Nah I'm good

It's bleach with added surfactant (sodium metasilicate).
