Quite nice is the video. I hope the nation's Museums have this video,as well of other ones. A Nation's history is precious and important too one's now and future. Thanks for sharing.
Nice vid. My first ever holiday as a child was to Sri Lanka in 1984 to visit my Mums relatives. Theres a man at 3.03 onward outside Cargills Store who looks twice at the camera as he walks by and he sure looks like my Dad - it may well have been him as they did go into Colombo at the time...thanks for the upload.
I also was in SL in 1984 for the summer hols. Miss those times in the 80s and 90s in SL. Though the war was on, it just seemed a nicer place to go to than now. People had time for you then.
Like the VW Beetle seen at 2:45 - 2:48. (I personally have rescued a 1960 VW in Sri Lanka. It would have been long gone otherwise but is in now mint condition about to see Sri Lankan roads once again!)
@@CGRCOOL Better government policies, less crime and a major connection with the land, but it was a time of construction, so much things were necessary in these years. There were less technology and infrastructure, but it wasn't so important as the right to eat, dress and live. These values were far better respected back then.
Amazing footage 😉👍🍷 I was not even a toddler back then. Sri Lanka was very different back then ...especially Colombo!
How beautiful was colombo without Indian ටකරං tuk tuk
