What size thread are you using on your rods? I know different sizes may be used for different applications but I’d there a size you tend to use most

Typically, I use "D" for most guide wraps. I do use "A" for some accents.

I hate when the metallic threads unravel when using on the bobbin holder and wrap around one of the legs and increase tension, so what I do is put a nylon mesh sleeve over the whole bobbin holder and spool and it stops the annoying unraveling of the thread, not sure how to get a picture to you, but I know you will figure it out... Thanks again for the great video!!!...i've learned so many great techniques from you. Question, i just got a few carbon fiber rod blanks shipped to me, would you sand off the ribs for clear coat...thank you...

Jim,
If you're talking about Xray blanks, I
would never sand the ribs. It will slow the action and power. Plus, there is no reason to clear coat the rods except in the area where you are putting a label.
If you want a smooth blank from NFC, you could order an IM or HM blank.

Im not sure what x ray blanks are, and secondly, ooops...it was your comment in this video about not wrapping to tight because of the ribs that triggered my concern. If i sent you a photo of the ribbed blank im hoping you could let me know if i have x ray blanks?...I've never heard of that terminology before....thanks again for helping all of the beginners out there...i have so much to learn OBVIOUSLY lol
