Somehow I really want a crafter cart filled with rail ingredients pushed by a furnace cart laying a very long rail on its own. It would never work in vanilla though, because there is no chunk loading cart...

Fabricator in Thermal Expansion, Assembler in Immersive Engineering, and the Auto-crafter (I dont remember the actual name) in Industrial Foregoing, and there are probably many more blocks in other mods that automate crafting.
