Best explanation video for the Pocket 3! Been researching about this since Im new to the pocket 3 (new to cameras) and I still haven't understand anything until I watched this. Really helped. On to your next video!
Wow! That makes me so happy to hear - glad the video was useful :) :) My Poclet 3 playlist is here: ua-cam.com/play/PLF3XxzX27iiI96cA-qDPI4zBEMzNskwSm.html
Thanks for the video. When playing around with the exposure on my pocket 3. I found that in auto mode my face would be brighter and manual was darker and the picture had more contrast. However all values in auto looked to be near the same as manual. Just wondering why this might be
Thanks for recommending this one Jason! Having Zebra's is great so that another plus for me! I'm off to watch the Variable ND video! I have VND on the FS-5 and love it , so having a pop on VND for this camera is a bonus. Cheers Gregg.
It would be great if there was a touch screen command (triple tap) to lock the exposire as well as the focus eg if your panning from a dark area to bright area and dont wabt the exposure shift....having to use the mimo app for that i think is annoying... hopefully that could come with a firmware update.
That's a great idea! You could go full manual exposure and then the exposure shift would not happen but having and exposure ;lock in full auto would be useful :) :)
Yes, you need to use the app to activate the Osmo Pocket 3 but once it's activated you can just use it without the app. Firmware update is done through the app as well.
First choose your frame rate - watch this video to learn how to choose one (and the "correct" shutter speed): ua-cam.com/video/HMFRHAOnGdM/v-deo.html Then set up your lighting and adjust the lights and ISO to get the exposure how you want it :) :)
This is the hardest thing to learn for newbies i think. It seems a minefield to take in. I think it's best to stick to the 180 rule( I think that's what it's called isn't it) and look to see if it looks ok on the screen. Do you think having everything in Auto is also the best way to go Jason?
It depends on the situation and what you're filming I guess and what the video will be used for - for example I filmed this whole video in auto exposure mode: ua-cam.com/video/NIReZcSfbW4/v-deo.html
What about if you’re shooting outside in log? The Pocket 3 doesn’t show the colour correction on its screen, and I use my iPhone for a second camera so having to go in and out of the app is a massive ballache. I love my Pocket 3, but so far all the footage I get from it seems frustratingly noisey when I use my ND’s I shoot outside mostly and tend to use a 64 filter but maybe a variable filter might be the way to go. DJIs lack of inclusion for LUTs on the pocket 3 is so annoying though. Can do so with the Mini 4, exact same camera, why can’t we with the pocket 3? Or am I overlooking something
@@JasonRobertsVideo yeah zebras could be pretty confusing on a screen that size, but I think at the VERY LEAST we should be able to do colour recovery on the screen considering it offers a LOG recording. Seems a complete oversight to me. Kind of failing to see the point in the screen if we have to use the app for everything anyway!
Best explanation in terms of exposure. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much!
Yay! Glad it was helpful, thanks :) :)

Congrats on the 10k subs Jason, 👏 really enjoy your work, very helpful. Thanks
Thanks so much!! - really appreciate you saying that Michael - next stop 50K !! :) :)
What would be an ideal ISO for dark scene scenarios where you don’t want any noise or at least not so visibly shown
"If you're filming outside you can't turn down the sun" 😂😂but honestly thank you for this video it was extremely helpful, great job
Haha :) Thanks, glad it was helpful :) :)
Nice and simple to follow.
Thanks so much! Glad it was easy to follow :) :)

No worries Gregg - glad you're enjoying all the vids :) :)
Darn it! I learned something new! I didn't know you could tap on the EV when using an ISO range to set a fixed EV value! Cheers!
Yay! glad to help :) :)
Same here massive help
Yay! Thanks :) :)
Ev still adjusts
And you can change while recording too!
I learnt so much!
As a new user, this is insightful.
Subbed you!
Yay! That makes me so happy to hear it was helpful and welcome aboard :) :)
Very helpful, thank you for sharing! Just started to use the DJI Pocket 3.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks :) :)
Thank you for the quick useful tips :)
You're welcome :) :)
Thanks!! really clear and helpful

I'm filming outdoors on a race track in a very bright and tropical country. I'm struggling to get a good setting so as not to be over exposed.
You're ether going to need to set the lowest ISO and highest shutter speed but if this is not enough you will need to get an ND filter.
Do you must have that app BS installed (like for gimbals dji ask to activate) or that is totally optional?

Whats ideal settings for Indoor studios recording like talking head for youtube?

At 7:50 - surely you mean 'frame rate' - not shutter speed?

Yeah I really hope we'll get some firmware updates like being able to turn on zebras/waveform on the camera - it's a pretty small screen though.
@@JasonRobertsVideo yeah zebras could be pretty confusing on a screen that size, but I think at the VERY LEAST we should be able to do colour recovery on the screen considering it offers a LOG recording. Seems a complete oversight to me.

ND64 seems too much, try ND16-ND32 in summer.
Nice🎉Thank You
No problem - you're welcome :) :)
How could this not have a histogram
Maybe in a future update! :) :)
I believe there is a histogram on the mimo app
and zebras
Find the histogram, thank you
You're welcome :) :)
