Absolutely fabulous..... the wonderful history and more to come... the quilters are going to have such a blessed time!!! Bless your heart for choosing the perfect place, beautiful home for quilt makers...yes the tranquil surroundings too! Looking forward to see the quilters creating and having many joyous and meaningful memories. Happy quilting. Xx
Congrats, I definitely will put this on my bucket list. Always wanted to attend a unique quilt retreat like this one. The outdoor scenery adds to the overall finish touch. Great idea! Bonnie
Bonnie I loved it. It has been so long since I have seen you. We went to High School together. I love my quilting. It would be a dream to come to a retreat here and see you again. You have inspired me so much.
So wonderful. Those floors are absolutely beautiful. The previous owners took such great care in maintaining the home. I’m sure if those walls could talk they would have such loving stories to tell. Enjoy the journey 😉
What a wonderful opportunity you are providing for quilters. I think this is one of the most beautiful houses. Your commentary of the video was so descriptive that I could imagine the quilters sewing, eating and enjoying the porch. The post office is wonderful. It's fun to think of a purchase coming from there. If possible make more videos so those of us who may never be able to visit in person can visit in VR. Best wishes and prayers!
Love this, beautiful home just right for a Quilting Retreat. Thanks for the tour, I really enjoyed it. I agree the clawfoot tubs are really nice but I agree with you they are to dangerous to have in the bathrooms. I like the idea that scraps are thrown in one and then make a quilt out of them . I'm looking forward to see when you are done and ready for your retreats !!!
I am so envious! Beautiful! What a wonderful place and plan! The claw foot would make a nice fish pond on that lovely porch! So exciting! Congratulations 😍
Wow. Just awesome. I would love to come to a retreat. I know I will be hanging out on that amazing porch. This is all so perfect for Quiltville, made for you! That house would be a dream come true for sure. Enjoy. Looking forward to seeing it completed.
I couldn't be happier for you and those who will enter those amazing walls! That house is just pristine! The floors are just so well kept. I, also love old windows with the waves...Best of luck on all of your plans for that gorgeous property.
This is breath taking... oh so awesome... I wish I was there to assist you with this venture. I love the enchanting seasoned homes of this era ... Bonnie you have truly got a Gold mine... Keep up the great work... My heart goes out to you..
Quilting is on my bucket list. I wish I'd paid more attention as a younger person. What a beautiful place to retreat and create. Many blessings to you and Quiiltville!
Absolutely fantastic. A dream come true. I think I'll re-read the Elm Creek Quilt Series again and picture your Quiltville Inn. Congratulations and thank you for all you do and say to make our lives happier & maybe even calmer.
This is such a beautiful property, you’ve got yourself a real gem. I hope I will be able to come when you open fingers crossed good luck and plenty of quilty hugs to you and your family xxx
I stumbled across your channel thanks to a vintage sewing machine video. I love old homes, and old buildings in general. I wish I lived in one. I'd love to have a home like the Quiltville Inn, including the claw foot tubs!!
I’m so happy for you Bonnie! It is beautiful. Wonderful memories will be stitched into your new place. Your hard work has really paid off and your dreams are being fulfilled. Enjoy!
I want to make reservations! What a great house for a great idea! I think no one will ever want to leave... That porch! That whole place just makes you want to sew, I wanted to beg you for a job, haha then I realized I was an old retired woman. It's funny how when you've worked your whole life, you forget you aren't really work material any longer, and that takes the wind out of your sails. Good Luck on your new venture, many blessings and good fortune.
Lorraine, I don't believe your work is done yet. I say this with a smile on my face because I know exactly how you feel. There are so many young people that have yet to learn from us. I've been a Girl Scout Leader for over 35 years and have touched the lives of many girls and adults. I am now a trainer of different skills and I love it. Everyone has a skill to pass on even if it seems so small or insignificant. It and you are important to someone very lucky to know you.
I'm amazed at your creativity! Yes 90 F is quite warm already!..The clear large windows allow for great outside views, how lucky the people staying there. Looking forward to seeing your progress, I hope it works out for you Bonnie! Cheers Marietta Brisbane Australia
Thank you for the tour, loved it! What a beautiful old house and I like you are keeping it as original as possible. What a dream come true! Wish there was something like it in Oregon! Good luck to you!
All I can say is "WOW" Love, love, love it. What a dream come true for you. I can picture it with quilts hung on some of the walls and all the quilters sitting there and that porch I fell it love with that at first sight. Congrat's to you.
I have a cabin that has tile floor in the bathroom. The grout was so hard to get clean, I thought I was going to have to pull out all the tile and replace it. But then I found the solution...use toilet bowl cleaner that has bleach in it. Use the tip of the cleaner bottle to apply the cleaner on the grout lines. Let it sit maybe 10 minutes. Then use a scrub brush, and then rinse. I had a mop that had a sponge head on one side and a scrub brush on the other. It now looks brand new!
Diane B thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I will finally get my bathroom grout looking white again. Heck, I’d be happy if it just came close to off white! I’ve scrubbed and scrubbed and it still looks icky near the toilet and the wash basins. Getting on my knees to power scrub is no longer an option at my age and I’ve come close to tearing up my beautiful tiled floor. Now I don’t have to!!! Thank you again!
Diane B I use toilet bowl cleaner on all my bathtubs that are majorly funky. Thought I had invented it years ago but guess it had to be one of those traveling, "Ah Ha!" moments. Telling everyone this really does work with Lysol gel toilet cleaner and clorox gel. Do't use $ stores, "the Works" though. It's great for rust but too strong for bathtubs unless you have a porcelin tub. Will eat your gloves and bad to breathe.
This place is to die for, Bonnie, and you are absolutely the perfect person to take it in hand and do it justice! It is tremendously exciting. (don't forget to notice the suggestion below about using the claw foot bathtub for scraps!)
I love that house! I can't do stairs anymore so we have a stair climber in our house, I saw a house with a closed off section like yours has and the people showing it felt that originally it was where the hired man and his wife lived. Even had its own kitchen and living room. I hope you will have many successful retreats here!
Don’t exactly know what the place is about but wow what a wonderful place it is. I’d love just sitting on the front pouch quilting , talking and listening to lots of stories. It makes me want to go!
I cannot begin to express how thrilled I am for you! I will live vicariously through you because this is also my style of dream home. Just stunning and your excitement and passion are inspiring! Wishing you the best of luck and I hope to be able to visit during a retreat.
Congratulations on obtaining such a treasure! It is beautiful and so glad someone such as you appreciates it and will preserve it. I'm interested in learning to quilt and would love to visit, even if it was to observe and enjoy the atmosphere. Looking forward to seeing your progress. Good Luck!
Thank you for the wonderfully guided tour of Quiltville. Love the wavy-panel windows looking out onto scenic GREEN, the sound of the door hardware, and your appreciation of your place in the history of the property. I am a new subscriber and relatively new quilter with two requests: please upload your work in progress (it will energize your body and feed your soul when both lag during endless work) and put in a second or larger window in your post office office as light-filled space is clearly very important to you. Best wishes, and looking forward to seeing how you “cute’n it up!
What a magical place your retreat home is going to be. So much light. It would be Luke a dream to be able to book a retreat with you but being I live in England and am dealing with a chronic back ptoblem it will remain a dream. Good luck with your venture, it is a wonderful idea☺
That is just wonderful! I love old houses too.....and your is just beautiful! I think your plans are coming together and well thought out. What nice spaces for your long-arm and mail-order too! They should be just perfect for what you want to do with them. Thanks for sharing.....Sheri in Iowa
Two of my favorites in one retreat!! Where do I sign up!?! I am very interested in booking, and am sooo looking forward to making a trip down from PA when the upgrades are finished. Can't wait to see your progress, and your journey to completion!! How exciting for you!! I love old / vintage homes with a history, and quilting so a retreat at your beautiful house is definitely a treat I am looking forward to!!! Congratulations and good luck on your fun new journey!!!
I am so excited and happy for you Bonnie. Your new retreat center is lovely and will be even more so once you get to decorate it! I hope some day I can attend one your retreats and actually learn from you! May I make one suggestion ? I would consider putting in antique looking ceiling fans in each of the classrooms. You know we women of a certain age have those darned hot flashes and wouldn't it be nice to keep the air circulating? I can't wait to see more!
Good for you!!! Our local elementary school is closing. I have pillow dreams of buying it and using the back and first floor for bedrooms and a quilt shop. Using the front of the school and the second floor for long arming and classes....
Bonnie, this house is soooo beautiful, exactly what you want, may your dream come true fast and smoothly, may the inspiration and aspiration of you and this house will reach the starts. bless!!!
Oh, Bonnie ! This place looks awesome ! Love this vintage era !! Agree with so many other about the claw tubs ! If you moved even just one of them to say, the front porch, just for fun!! (Not connected of course!) Think of how many scraps quilters would leave you and how much variety this would add to your stash !! Best of luck with this cool endeavor ! Keep us all posted on your progress !
Oh my goodness, this is just gorgeous! I'm so excited for you...an very jealous of your beautiful new space...I'm putting Quiltville in Wilson Mouth, Virginia on my bucket list! Have tons of fun with this new adventure!💜
Hi, we live in an old house too. The waviness of the windows is because the glass is original, handmade, and very old. :). I’m busy making a quilt watching utube. :). Have a fab time, i would love to do a workshop, but i live in New Zealand. too far away. All the best. 13:47

Congratulations! The tour of the Quiltville Inn was wonderful. This will be fun to decorate as you prepare for your new adventure.
How gorgeous! Even that little post office could make such a cute home if a kitchen were added.
So wonderful. Those floors are absolutely beautiful. The previous owners took such great care in maintaining the home. I’m sure if those walls could talk they would have such loving stories to tell. Enjoy the journey 😉
