Yeah - I think of it as you need to be strong enough - there are plenty of very good runners who wouldnt have those levels of strength required. But you dont need to be crazy strong, at a level that many people would struggle to get their head around. Its like you need to be strong enough while being VERY good at running.
@@roxlyfe yeah definitely, I see hyrox as an aerobic fitness test, if I’m doing the open category would it benefit me being a bit lighter in body weight ? Currently 174 pounds at around 13% body fat
@@lean2281 Honestly, thats impossible for me to say. But no it doesnt strike me as being obviously too heavy. Im not winning the open personally but Im 182lbs, and dont feel like I need to drop lots of weight to continue to improve. In fact, check out the guys who won the Mens Doubles in Birmingham on Saturday (doubles is even quicker than Open). Very big guys (I believe one of them is over 100kg).
Wow, loved hearing Rich’s numbers and his idea for paces during the race. Coming from CrossFit, it was eye opening.
Thrilled to hear someone talking in pace per mile!
No!! 🤣🤣
Great video, thank you so much.
Thank you!
Great interview. Brings home how good these elites are
Thanks! Yeah, very impressive indeed.
This was such an interesting interview and really enjoyed it
Thanks Paul!
He is sooo fast!!!!! 😮
What I got from the video is that you don’t need to be that strong …. But running and fitness levels need to be very high! 💪🏻
