I have both the Z9 and the Z30. (Talk about having both ends of the lineup!) Agree wholeheartedly with your assessment that the Z30 is a great travel camera. Yes, it lacks a viewfinder, so I carry a black t-shirt and put it over my head and the camera if the sun is too bright. I take the Z30 where I don’t want the weight of the Z9 and don’t want to call attention to myself. It’s wonderful. I bought it with the F2Z adapter because I already had F-mount DX lenses for an old Nikon D5100. But now I’ve settled on most of the time using the Z30 with the Z DX 18-140 f/3.5 to f/6.3 lens. This gives the full-frame equivalent reach of a 27-210 lens and gives me almost every scenario I want for shooting street. If I need more flexibility, I always have interchangeable FX lenses for the Z9. Of course, the Z50 is around the same price point as the Z30 and has a viewfinder. However, it has a flip-down screen rather than a fully articulating flippy screen, so it’s got its drawbacks. There are some rumors out there that NIkon has a Z90 planned and that may be an even better travel crop sensor solution once it’s available?
This is a review about the Z30 as a good travel camera but there are no sample photo images (unless I missed them) all the way through. There are loads of sample videos but it would be nice to see some images as thats what folk tend to do when they are travelling.
Got mine for $500 with the kit lens. I have a Z8 and a Z6 II but because of its size I bring the Z30 everywhere. I also wish it had a viewfinder but the screen works fine. I bought it for backpacking because of how small and light it is. I really like it!
Yes, I would recommend it. only thing i would do is do get a better lens with it only because its not that great in low light. I would pick up a faster lens.
I am an owner of Nikon 7100 with kit 18-105 lens - Hand me down from family. But on my current travel, and several earlier - the size becomes a big issue and non-tilting Screen.
Great video man! Even though I'm a Fujifilm photographer, I loved watching this review, it is very well presented.. I also love tiny crop sensor cameras! :) Liked and subscribed ❤ God bless and keep it up! ✝🙏
Thanks for making this video about the Z30. It is such a nice small travel camera especially with the collapsible kit lens 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR (only 135 grams). I was on Greenland this week and changed lenses a few times, the only thing I missed was that I forgot to bring a lens pen air blower (or similar) to clean the sensor from dry dust particles as the sensor is not protected.

I’m going to make a follow up video with sample photos as I didn’t take many on my trip
@@PeterDiBussolo brilliant thank you. I'll look out for it.
i have never seen a small channel with this high of a production quality, great work!
Thank you! I appreciate it
Z8 shooter here. I got this for my wife but find myself using it. Love it.
quality video! might have to look into the z30 for my future travels
Highly suggest it

It’s a great little kit. Wish I brought it with me to Mexico instead of the z8
Thanks buddy. Would you recommend it for camping videos? Also, how can we increase video quality in low light? Are there things like effects?

What kind of flash light does it need for photography
@@RobustArid379 flash?
Great video! I have a z6 and z5 and seriously thinking about getting this one solely for vlogging cause of the screen
Z5 will crop on 4k so keep that in mind but dual SD card tho!

Size does matter lol

Thanks man !!
I just returned it yesterday. It has a perfect form factor. But no stabilization and no log (compared to modern options) + very bad low light focusing
The stabilization is great to me! I’d rather use the flat profile then log especially if it’s only 8bit colour
My olympus stabilizes much better in camera and is also small and light
@@christopheschmit8671 what model??

It would be better for us if we could watch the footages you've shot without the "old film" effect you are using. But anyway, thanks for the review!
There are a few sample shots with the flat profile.
i love my nikon z30 !!!

The collapsible lens makes it great !
Nikon Z30 + Nikkor 24mm f1.7 is perfect
Gotta try that combo!
You can pick it up for waaay less than $1k
Close to 1k with a kit lens. Canadian pricing
