I just bought the Zfc just for the way it looks. It has no place in my Fujifilm system. But this little Nikon has a soul and its growing on me that I have started to aquire Nikkor Z lenses for it.
Yay! I saw your post of this camera on insta and knew you were going to review it. I was on the fence with this camera but after seeing your fjui and nikon comparison I fell in love with the colors! This is my take to lunch camera. lol.
Omar, this is the first time watching your videos, man I have to say you have a pleasant sense of humor! I enjoyed this video until the end. Thanks a lot.
I just bought the Z fc and was a bit apprehensive due to so many referring to it as "plasticky". I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and discovered it's not as lightweight as I thought it would be. I love the camera. Great features and I like all the customization possibilities. It's my first mirrorless to add to my D500, D610, and D7100.
I'm interested in knowing how it compares to the D500 since it would be it's replacement. I find the D500 amazing but I need something lighter. I'm also considering the Z fc's brothers the Z50 and Z30 but leaning more toward the Z50.
@@markwornom1050 IMO...AF is inferior to the D500 in poor light, smarter but slower than the D500 in good light. For example, if you're tracking faces outside, then the Zfc works well. The ergonomics of the Zfc really suck in my opinion. Not enough buttons, weird design choices, and a difficult to hold shape. The Z50 is much better here. Unfortunately, unlike the D500, none of the DX Z cameras are weather sealed. 10 FPS (continuous H extended) comes with a few limitations. The biggest one is that the viewfinder becomes a 10 FPS slideshow, rather than live updating between shots as in the 5 FPS continuous H mode.
Also, no dual card slots. But honestly, that's not something I really care about that much. I do care about the lack of internal flash, though. That's saved me a few times. None of the DX Z cameras have in-body stabilization either, unfortunately (a feature all of the FX Z cameras have).
It’s impossible for Fuji to do this due to the lack of the mirror. And if nikon would ever do it they will have to use their previous mount!!!Sadly Nikon discontinued their best film camera f6 back at 2020 😩
I think they probably look at this and say "there are plenty of actual film cameras on the market so we won't bother" and there is probably some merit to that. It's likely that the costs would not be recouped since film photography is a bit of a niche market still even though it's making a come-back. Plus, I think I'd rather shoot a true film camera from the film days (especially one of Fuji's rangefinder style cameras) over a modernized film camera with all the bells and whistles of a modern camera, only that it shoots film. Too much technology IMO. But again, it comes down to cost and being able to make money off of it. And I don't think the market will ever be there (again) to justify it. If Nikon or Fuji did, I could see them making a premium camera but would probably charge a premium price for it and thus, probably wouldn't even pay for itself either because of the price to consumers, so really it's not feasible or justifiable from a cost standpoint any way you look at it given the niche market.
The Zed-film-camera is really growing on me. I was surprised how light the body is! I’d be all over it if I didn’t already have three Fuji cameras. Then again, if we didn’t have Fujifilm, would the Zfc even exist?
tell me can we use our F mount Nikon DX 17-55mm f/2.8g lens and 85mm 1.4D with this fuji film camera easily with ftz2 adapter.?? Or this camera would have some limitations with F mount lenses.? I want to use it for professional photography only but not for videos
Remember that nikon already had the Nikon DF full frame, classic looking body not-mirrorless back on 2013. This is like a small sister to that camera. I don´t know what took them so long though
Only speaking as one who bleeds Nikkon, the Picture Control settings DO affect the RAW and can even be changed in the NX Studio RAW editor as can one customize and load them into the camera.
One of the features that I’ve come to live out of this camera that no one talks about is the ability to do Timelapse videos. Yes, time lapse videos-not interval shooting. I love that the camera automatically compiles the photos and processes them into a video. The things I hate about it: limited lens environment and no aperture rings on the lens. Yes, you can use full frame z lens or use the F mount lens, but that puts a huge lens on a compact camera, which defeats the purpose of choosing this camera.
Ttartisans, manual lenses I bought 'Ttartisans 35mm f1.4.' If you can live without auto-focus & Exposure, it's great. It's basically a fully manual Camera thereafter, digital film experience. Focus peaking & 200% magnification aid in focusing on subjects.
Will never ever happen. The Nikon Df was also DX. My godfather Ned Flemderson works for Nikon corporate and he told me Nikon would rather scratch there eyes 👀 out then make a Full Frame version!!!!! Get a Z9 is similar but has better FOS and 8k.
@@michael-4k4000 why not? It depends on if the zfc sells like hotcake => the zf would be another good money grabbing technique for nikon as well. ZF could just be a Z5 with a retro body.
Oddly enough, the Z fc stands for Fusion Casual. My hopes is the full frame version of this is the Z fp (for pro). Whatever they call it… if they came out with a full frame F3hp, Nikon would take all my money. lol
I would highly recommend purchasing the Small Rig grip for this Zfc body it improve the handling and grip of this camera and is made to the highest standard
Not only I get to hear your reviews but I also get a lot of laugh watching this video. Thank you for the laughs! I really enjoyed watching this you are so funny 😀
I got an fc because one used basically open box popped up local for 500 usd body only. I got a 35mm Voigtlander f1.2 Z mount dx lens and that's basically my walk around kit. The Voigtlander talks to the body, so it works with manual focus indicators (the focus square turns color when it detects it's in focus) along with the obvious peaking and zoom options. You can use some of the custom settings to get dslr style focus trapping (hold the shutter down, move the focus ring, and the moment when the focus indicator turns green it takes the shot) that has gotten pretty good results for me so far. That lens and the 27mm version in z mount are the reasons I bought the body (at the price obviously). They're both available for Fuji too I believe, but Nikon has the focus indicator which I've had great results with and really wanted in a solid manual lens to shoot like I used to with (d)slr's. I have serious doubt that Nikon will push any notable fast DX primes. They'll just release a handful of zooms and then the budget-but-solid smaller FX Z lenses will have to do for the Z50, Z30, and Z fc (this 28mm is an FX full frame lens, same with the new 26mm pancake). Not the end of the world, those are actually small enough to fit the bodies and there's already third-party lens makers coming out with DX Z autofocus lenses. A lot of people think Canon might put out a throwback design R mount camera, probably a rebodied R10 at this point. It could be a rebodied RP to claim they have a leg up on the Z fc and Fuji's with full frame, but the primary audience that actually makes them what little money they do for a camera like these throwback bodies are a better market with the cheaper amateur enthusiast bracket. Either way I wouldn't be interested personally with how they've locked down the R mount. If it were an open mount to let Sigma, Tamron, etc pick up the slack for APS-C lenses for fast appropriately sized primes (FF bulk and expense defeats the purpose of crop sensor outside) then I would have already bought an R7. Then again if Fuji didn't flicker every time it goes back to wide open after focusing/taking a shot I would pretty much be content with that X-T3 for many many years to come. Most people don't notice it, I can't help but not notice after trying multiple times for weeks at a time. It ticks back to wide open 1 aperture click at a time creating a slight flicker along with a flash/flicker when focusing that gave me migraines. My MFT, Sony, Pentax, nor Nikon gear do this. Shame too, you buy a system for lenses, and I love the fujicron f2 lenses, the 27, 35, and 50 were good enough to be my kit. They feel great in the hand, the aperture dials are great, the quality for the price was great...but that stupid flickering :(.
I'd be tempted to purchase this camera if it had a full frame sensor. The problem with nikon crop sensors is that they don't have a lineup of tiny super wide lenses to accompany them like fuji does with its crop sensor cameras.
Nikon seems to state that this ZFC isn’t a pro camera (cause you can have only kit lens and two prime “not so” fast). Fuji instead has a long story of development its APSC line up for professional use. It’s a shame because you can easily work “pro” with a crop sensor if you have fast and quality primes 😢. This is the only reason that keep me away from this design jewel … Nikon should consider a fast 1.4 prime set for this ZFC
I have a Z6ii, and a bought a mint green zfc for me and my g/f to use out and about. Yes you need the grip - mine is the Smallrig one. I have thought about getting one of those leather cases. I really enjoyed your thoughts on it.
Nice impressions Omar! Subbed a few months ago, first time commenting. Love the way you do your videos, like talking to a friend. Keep up the great work and hope Nikon sends you a Z 9. I have the Z fc, Z 6II and Z 9 and love them all. Will be curious to hear your Z 9 impressions as it probably is overkill for what you photograph but I’m confident you’ll have lots of interesting things to share about it after some hands on!
I know what you mean, having a hard time getting rid of older cameras. I still have the Nikkromat FT I first learned on, with its 50mm f2 lens. Then there’s my FE from 1981 and a 50mm f1.4. I’m very interested in a modern digital that has the form and function of the old film cameras. Thanks for your honest comments.
Reminds me of fond memories and memory making I had with my Nikon FE2. Loved that camera.. Miss it too... Maybe I should take this FC to lunch like Omar has done...
My girlfriend has this camera and I have a go on it periodically and I gotta say, I do enjoy using it. It feels great, images look good and it's nice and snappy! Do like the shutter sound. I do wonder if they'll make a full frame version...
your charisma made me do something i hardly ever do. i pressed the thumbs up and subscribe button. Thank you! this was a fun watch and i smirked a lot :)) called me out on my own shit.
To be honest I hadn't noticed that PASM switch before from product photos. Maybe that is a good middle ground for Fujifilm as well in order to please both crowds.
Are you sure the evf just turns on, when its just close to your eye and not e.g. hanging around and being close to your body? Does it actually recognize that there is an eye in front of the evf, or is just a normal distance sensor?
As a past Nikon DF owner. The shutter mode switch is an achilles heel of the DF. On the Zfc it looks like they now have 2. Be careful not to hang up a thread under those tiny switches. One tiny bend and they'll function intermittently. Debris can be an issue to so try keeping the Zfc clean at all times. I wouldn't use this in sandy or dusty environments.
Omg Omar u got the Zfc? Am so happy for u! This camera is a true “gamechanger”! Gear is best when is new and expensive! U know what I’m talking about big guy! Do you ever watch Sam Kolder? He’s better then Jared a Polin!
I just had to buy one, I made breakfast for mine this morning, French toast with melted butter and powder sugar.......yes soooooo good. I agree on the silver plastic paint however Nikon did come out with a black one replicating their black film bodies. You could only purchase it from Nikon USA but I already had mine. I did get the small rig tan leather case, so cool looking and I also got the small rig grip which is amazing and so secure however it doesn't work with the leather cover so there ya go. I bet if Nikon makes a full frame version it will be popular so there goes another $1000 out the window. but wait, its Father's Day....nope con't use that excuse , I already used it for the Nikon 400 4.5 Z lens. Lets see 4th July? Thanks again Omar for another interesting video. ted in Sebastian, Fl
Actually I opt for the zfc instead of the z50 because of the fully articulating screen and a better af and eye af in video also program the focus ring as the exposure comp on the 28mm lens - not to mention the looks 😀😍
Oh man, I just loved this video and you are so right this camera is just as much about the looks as it is its actual performance and who am I to say I have any issues with that, I have a handful of vintage rangefinder and SLR cameras in my small collection. I think the only negative is lens selection at this time, not that you can't find decent 3rd party options but this is a street photography camera, a carry around fun type of camera. Thanks for sharing - Jeff
It really is a very pretty camera. I do agree with the silver paint comment though. I wish it looked more premium. Was it enough to make me move from Fuji though? No, not at all. But, for the Nikon shooters out there, it's great to see that they have the option for this style of camera now.
The Nikon Zfc came out not too long after I bought my Fujifilm X100F. Had I known the Zfc was going to be released I would have waited and bought it instead of the Fujifilm; as the Zfc so closely resembles my beloved Nikon FM film camera. No regrets though the X100F is a great 'travel/grab and go' camera I'm very pleased with it. And it too closely resembles classic rangefinder film cameras..I've had people think I was carrying a film rangefinder camera. Kudos to Nikon though for creating a digital camera that has the look and feel of a classic film SLR camera. Maybe I'll spring for one 'just because'?
Omar, you are right, wow that X-Pro2 Graphite version, it was spot on perfect. Amazing paint quality and with the matching 23mm f2 🤩😍🤤🤤🤤 In my opinion, the best color Fuji have made so far besides the regular black that I think looks very nice as well.
I received the Zfc as a gift last year and I really love it. I’m a wedding shooter with two Z9’s so this is great for travel, street casual shooting. I really hope they do a Zf mirrorless version of the Df. BTW, you should rent a Df and have some fun with that for a future video.
The wearing a camera around your neck is such a classic at photography conventions and exhibitions. I've noticed that it's 99% Leica owners that do it.
They need to make like 3 or 4 of these retro-looking lenses. Maybe a 14 and a 55 to go with this 28. And make them f/2. The 2.8 is dark for a crop sensor camera.
Wow. Very nice video! I just bought one of these, and felt guilty because I already own 2 Nikon DSLRs and 3 Vintage Film Nikons (FE, FM2 and F100). I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks of my cameras like little "people" that I like to hang out with! My ZFc is definitely my new "little buddy!"
tell me can we use our F mount Nikon DX 17-55mm f/2.8g lens and 85mm 1.4D with this Fuji Film mirror less camera easily with ftz2 adapter.?? Or this camera would have some limitations with F mount lenses.? I want to use it for professional photography only but not for videos
As an old Nikon FM and Df user I was looking around for a walk around camera, settled on the Fujifilm XE3 (dials & non-pro shinny top). Now displaced the XE3 with the Zfc. As a Nikon fanboy who likes Fujifilm retro. I appreciated where you’re coming from, I found myself nodding in agreement with your assessment. A grip is a must.
This is the first camera body I ever preordered, and zero regrets so far. I just love it! I do agree with the handling though, it doesn't feel secured in your hand without the optional grip. If you're shooting short sessions, it works absolutely fine; however, if you're in a longer shoot, it becomes a bit more cumbersome to handle and your hands get tired. I also do agree with the plasticky feel to it0 My hope is that they'll be a full frame version that's better built and larger to make shooting for extended periods more comfortable (maybe IBIS too).
Thanks for the intelligent review. I have my eyes on this Zfc for several reasons. I have a Nikon Df, the Prince of Darkness, and it's my favorite D series of all time. This Zfc would be my first mirrorless camera and it it's quite similar to the design of the Df. The Zfc sensor, pixel peeping the RAW files in DP Review, seems to perform maybe better than my APS-C Nikon D7100. Well, it is 9 years newer than the D7100. Progress there. And, best of all, the initials fc are my initials. "No, that's my camera, see those initials?"
If you want to do the same thing (the no back screen thing) with your fuji camera, there is always the "viewmode" button on the evf hosing that allows you to chose between screen only, EVF only, dynamic switchng using the eye sensor or EVF only that activates with the eye sensor. I've been using that with an X100 and it's been quite fun I gotta admit About the Zfc though, I've been shooting Fuji for so long I can't say that I was very impressed by it when I tried it at a store. The image quality is what it is, it's not better or worse than Fuji for sure, however I was a bit conflicted about how the camera feels. It felt very light and plasticky for some reason (don't ask me the reason since most of the camera is metal), and I was also a bit thrown off by the mode "dial" under the ISO dial. It felt kinda out of place but again, I'm a bit biased towards Fujifilm here, to me, going to aperture priority is turning my Shutter speed dial to automatic. Also I think that it's a missed opportunity that they don't sell a all blacked out version of the Zfc. My dad's Nikon FE (which the Zfc is trying to reproduce : FE, FE2, FM that kind of cameras) was all black and because of that I've always been more attracted to black cameras. Here the "black" option is what we'd call "silver". Bummer. Also, about the "Nikon will maybe come out with a premium version of this" : My guess is they will not. They already tried with the Nikon Df and it flopped considerably despite the fact that the camera was really good in almost all aspect of what a retro camera should be. By the way, if you want a Full frame Zfc, that has the shutter sound of the D700 and can fully utilize 40 yearl old Nikon lenses : hit KEH up with a Nikon Df ! It's a really wonderful camera, and shooting manual focus only with a DSLR is refreshing. I'm not a huge fan of the flip out screen, but it didn't really bother me when I was using a Canon M50 either so, it's okay I guess. Talking about Canon, what is your opinion of the Canon R7 and R10? Do you plan to test them out at one point or is Canon long gone for you?
I love the r 7. My friend let me borrow it for a weekend it was amazing. I've been cheating Fuji for quite a while. I normally just use the evf I prefer that way .also have a Hasselblad x pan .i mostly take landcape imigise. I really love your UA-cam site.
I would like to see you publish a series of pictures, with different lenses, different angles of the George Washington Bride. I think that bridge is a piece of art.
You kill me, great stuff, I had the Nikon DF and want it back ... your XT3 is kinda like my old Minolta XD-11, set all to the green and yur good to go. Cheers!
The Z50 is not a proper replacement for the Zfc if you are not into the retro look. While they share the same sensor, the Zfc can be powered or charged via the USB-C connector, while the Z50 has the fragile and severely outdated micro-USB connector and can do neither. So for stationary video work the Z50 will require an - expensive - battery adaptor/power connector plus an external AC power supply. Additionally the Z50 is missing continuous eye focus for video, something that can apparently not be added via firmware updates. The Zfc has this. Basically the Zfc is an updated Z50-II with a retro look slapped onto the case.
That's fair. The Z50 is a great camera, but Nikon's choice to use Micro USB and not update it to eye autofocus (definitely has the same innards as the Zfc) are limiting. I bought my Z50 because it was so darn comfortable to hold. The kit lens for these cameras is amazing (if dark), and that sensor is excellent. The Zfc trades Nikon ergonomics for looks, which is good if you take your camera out for lunch! I'm hoping for a Z50 ii that has IBIS and USB C, but the flaws of the original are so minor that I'm not sure I'd upgrade anyway.
So True and spot on! I'm only just getting into photography and often take my newly acquired Nikon Z fc (Amber Brown Version) and Fuji X100V (Silver & Black Version) out for coffee for all the reasons you say 🤣
I’m not a big fan of the hinged battery doors either. I’d like to see the Lieca Q2 styled battery system used with Nikon. Indeed, the cost of the battery would increase yet potential damage to the battery door is eliminated making the camera more robust.
I haven't extensively use the Zfc, but aesthetically wise I like it. Kinda resembles Nikon FM2. Actually that's one of the reason why I'm still happy with Nikon Df, which also resembles FM2. The difference is of course one Zfc is APSC, while Df is FF. Given Zfc lens roadmap, guess I'll stick with Fuji for APSC system. Nope, I'm not a big fan of using FF lens on APSC crop bodies. Crop factor is annoying...
I'm curious about Nikon. I am a Fuji user for several years now. I recently bought a Canon Eos RP just to try and hated it, the build quality was great, but the EVF had a green tint and the image quality was worse because of the AA filter. I wonder if I would like this camera or the Z6 better.
I got mine today! Nikon refurb sale :-) After about 20 test shots outside this afternoon, already loving it! My first 35mm film camera was a Nikon FE, so, yeah, the looks matter to me. (I still have a one black and one silver FE.) Yes, the image quality is excellent, even with the 16-50 kit lens. The 28mm is arriving in a few days.
Born and bred native NIKON boy here🤪 ……..enjoyed your take on the ZFc from a Fuji fanboy’s point of view👍 Think NIKON May have been looking over at what Fuji has been doing right?
My wife has the Zfc and 28mm as a fun camera and I have X100v and totally agree with you on the silver finish. I hope that one day Nikon do a full black version like my little Fuji. One of the reasons why I bought the Fuji was that I wanted a camera small enough to slip it in my suit or coat pocket for work in the city so understand exactly what you mean about the Zfc size. That said, my wife does have a full black leather case and wow that little Nikon looks sexy😍 I really like what Nikon have done with this and it truly does hark back to the film camera days and looks like a fm2 which isn’t a bad thing. Great review Omar 👍👍
Call me shallow, but aesthetics is a big factor for me. I want it to look good. It makes me feel more inclined to use it. So yeah, I'm digging the looks. Perhaps they shoulda covered the rear screen with black leather instead of textured plastic. I'm assuming it's just plastic. A leather half case would give it a nice look too
Reminds me of my Df, and has a lot of the same interface decisions that frustrated me there too… that said, it is a faithful companion, and my only digital F body right now. But my FM and F100 will keep it company. And my Z6II 😸
Me shallow so might get one by thanksgiving '22 (price might drop by then?). I have the OG Z6 so I think it would be good to have a 2nd Nikon and they can share lenses. Always good to have the Omar perspective. Like the shutter sound btw, seems quite unique and retro-y.
There are actually a bunch of film simulations (picture controls in Nikon speak) out there that you can download and install on your Nikon camera, just like Fuji.
Wondering if one of the best reasons to buy a Nikon Zfc over a Nikon z30 is the EVF included. Wondering if you use the EVF a lot, and that it helps in bright light, or how often you use the back LCD instead and is the LCD bright enough in sunny outdoor weather? What is your opinion?
This has been smash hit for Nikon. Hoping that convinces Nikon to make a FF version. And since it is a Z mount the lenses you have for the ZFc will work on both making a perfect up grade path.
Really looking forward to the Z f on Halloween. Not that I'll be getting one for at least another 5 or 6 years, but just knowing it's out there will be fun :)
at Bic Camera in Japan right now they´re offering free leather cover (is that the word?) on this camera in multiple vintage colors. I'm so tempted to buy one, it looks stunning in mustard yellow and black (in Japan there's a black body version), but I'm deeply in love with my Fujifilm X, and have been treating it to lunch for 8 years, is just better in every way...but... we'll see....
Buajajajaja, I love this review !! I definitely will go to lunch with my Z fc next time. Yes that's the point, this one if for retro fans like me not professional photographer but I seriously love my gear. So when I saw this one on the store I run to sell my Sony to get this one and I love it ! Thank you to make a fun but great review !
Thanks! I really wanted to love this camera because it's gorgeous but compared with Fuji cameras it's too disappointing in my opinion. Still it's a great choice for casual photographers who want to feel like Meyerowitz during a lunch break and there's nothing wrong with it
God I love the look. My dad’s nikon f2m is still in immaculate condition since the 80’s and I love that camera. Wished that this was FF or at least they had more primes such as 28 or 35. Weird that they only came out with this 40ish? Love the vid as usual mate. You might have tempted me to try it even though love my R6 😊
Thank you, im considering buying either a fuji or nikon and dont know which is better price/quality wise. Im not yet committed with a full range of lenses so im free to chose. Zfc ? Xs10 ? Xt20 ?
People that take their camera out to lunch 😂 I love that you are always your silly self. Thank you for being a wonderful inspiration to me Omar 💚
I just bought the Zfc just for the way it looks. It has no place in my Fujifilm system. But this little Nikon has a soul and its growing on me that I have started to aquire Nikkor Z lenses for it.
Your videos are the best, so funny and yet detailed and very honest unlike some others does ! Keep up the great work !
Your reviews are a pleasure to watch, Omar. Absolutely fantastic, as the rest of the channel. Big fan, thumbs up! :D
Keep rocking it Omar! Your videos crack me up! Best wishes!!
It comes in an all black version. Also all sorts of fun colors.

Any thoughts to share? How has been against the D500?
I just really wish that Fuji or Nikon will do us a solid and just be like, “here’s an actual new film camera..just for fun.”
It’s impossible for Fuji to do this due to the lack of the mirror. And if nikon would ever do it they will have to use their previous mount!!!Sadly Nikon discontinued their best film camera f6 back at 2020 😩
@@crystalous not necessarily
Nikon has made rangefinders before
A rangefinder z lens compatible film camera would be insanely cool
How many people were buying F6s in the 2010s? You could probably still find one new in box if you really wanted one.
If you want quality used or new Nikon gear then look at Grays of Westminster in London . I have used them over the years and can recommend highly .
I think they probably look at this and say "there are plenty of actual film cameras on the market so we won't bother" and there is probably some merit to that. The Zfc looks so fun to use! If I shot Nikon, that would be the camera for me, no doubt!
I've been comparing cameras for a basic carry - XE4 and zfc. Size is the big decision I am down to. The zfc has a minor lead because I own a z6ii.
The Zed-film-camera is really growing on me. I was surprised how light the body is!
I’d be all over it if I didn’t already have three Fuji cameras. Then again, if we didn’t have Fujifilm, would the Zfc even exist?
I completely agree. Love the "Fuji" dials but I already have that in my Xt3. Still...
true, becos of fujifilm, zfc existed but also because of nikon fm2, fujifilm existed the looks
tell me can we use our F mount Nikon DX 17-55mm f/2.8g lens and 85mm 1.4D with this fuji film camera easily with ftz2 adapter.?? Or this camera would have some limitations with F mount lenses.? I want to use it for professional photography only but not for videos
Remember that nikon already had the Nikon DF full frame, classic looking body not-mirrorless back on 2013. This is like a small sister to that camera. I don´t know what took them so long though
@@InnerLifePhotography Only AFS lenses will autofocus with the adapter. Older D type will not
Love your videos, always on point and entertaining, Warm Regards from Ireland !
Ttartisans, manual lenses
I bought 'Ttartisans 35mm f1.4.'
If you can live without auto-focus & Exposure, it's great.
It's basically a fully manual Camera thereafter, digital film experience.
Focus peaking & 200% magnification aid in focusing on subjects.
Still hoping/dreaming that Nikon will make a full-frame version of this. That and 2-3 of their 1.8 primes...heaven!
Would appeal to all those who wish for a full frame Fuji.
@@michael-4k4000 the Df was FX, full-frame, not DX.
I own the df, it's a full frame sensor similar to the D4. Df doesn't use a dx sensor.
Oddly enough, the Z fc stands for Fusion Casual. My hopes is the full frame version of this is the Z fp (for pro). Whatever they call it… if they came out with a full frame F3hp, Nikon would take all my money. lol
You can always get a Nikon DF. Used one.
Think it stands for Fused Classic.
*Fusion Classic.
Per Nikon’s press release, fc stands for Fusion Casual.
Did you buy a Zf, @mMchael?
I’ve been reading camera reviews since the 80s. You are in the top-tier! Entertaining and informative, like good photography. New subscriber. Thanks!
I'm all about how a camera looks...and that Nikon looks AMAZING! Thank you for another fantastic video!
How is the zfc built quality compared to Fujifilm? Hope Nikon does a full frame fc
I just got this camera so far I am in love.. we may go out to lunch soon
😅
Nice impressions Omar! Subbed a few months ago, first time commenting. Love the way you do your videos, like talking to a friend. Keep up the great work and hope Nikon sends you a Z 9.
I have the Z fc, Z 6II and Z 9 and love them all. Will be curious to hear your Z 9 impressions as it probably is overkill for what you photograph but I’m confident you’ll have lots of interesting things to share about it after some hands on!
Thanks for sticking around!!
@@ogonzilla Absolutely, easy to stick around for all the enjoyable videos you make and dare I say the “edutainment” and inspiration!
I agree, this is the first video of yours I’m watching and I love the honest presentation
Thank you! this was a fun watch and i smirked a lot :)) called me out on my own shit.
that selfie cracked me so much!! lol. awesome video.. I always wondered how the ZFc from Fuji User's perspective
I really hope they develop a full frame version of this. I wouldn’t mind one of these though for those quick run around town days. 😎📸
they do have a DLSR full frame in this same style but its a bit older- but you can look up the dF - used they're only 1500 or so...
@@joshuaconti989 that’s cool, but I meant a FF mirrorless, not going back to DSLR now that I’ve made the move. 😎📸
@@JasonLorette I was assuming as much =)
Nikon Zf incoming (if the rumors are to be believed ;) )
Your wish was granted finally! We now have a Nikon Zf.
"some of us, we are a little shallow"
A quote has never resonated so well with me.
Love your videos Omar! You have a great sense of humor.
Is it a good camera for someone that will use it mostly for vlogging but wants something that can double for taking on vacation and getting nice pics?
Omar, you are right, wow that X-Pro2 Graphite version, it was spot on perfect. Amazing paint quality and with the matching 23mm f2 🤩😍🤤🤤🤤 In my opinion, the best color Fuji have made so far besides the regular black that I think looks very nice as well.
You took your camera to lunch omg I love it. ❤️
dude! you always bring me to laugh my ass off, whilst sharing your honest thoughts, nice ! cheers to you
Btw: you can Upload custom Simulations to the Nikon! Just found Out about it. There a bunch of fujifilm Simulations that Work Well on the nikon
I received the Zfc as a gift last year and I really love it. I’m a wedding shooter with two Z9’s so this is great for travel, street casual shooting.
I really hope they do a Zf mirrorless version of the Df. BTW, you should rent a Df and have some fun with that for a future video.
Ah, the ZFc, the perfect gift for the person that already have a stable of Z9’s😄
Hey. Can I shot with Zfc for wed photo and video? And promotion videos
The wearing a camera around your neck is such a classic at photography conventions and exhibitions. I've noticed that it's 99% Leica owners that do it.
I bought this camera just now! Thanks for this video! Inspired me to buy it too!
Are batteries the same as Z50?
As usual great video! you are a super funny too! Always great to see your reviews.
Does this camera have a self sensor cleaning mode or option?
They need to make like 3 or 4 of these retro-looking lenses. Maybe a 14 and a 55 to go with this 28. And make them f/2. The 2.8 is dark for a crop sensor camera.
Wow. Very nice video! I just bought one of these, and felt guilty because I already own 2 Nikon DSLRs and 3 Vintage Film Nikons (FE, FM2 and F100). I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks of my cameras like little "people" that I like to hang out with! My ZFc is definitely my new "little buddy!"
Great review and humorous as,always😁

Great review. Man if it was full frame I'd buy one in a heart beat. Still tempted though as I love the retro looks
If you want to do the same thing (the no back screen thing) with your fuji camera, there is always the "viewmode" button on the evf hosing that allows you to chose between screen only, EVF only, dynamic switchng using the eye sensor or EVF only that activates with the eye sensor. I've been using that with an X100 and it's been quite fun I gotta admit
About the Zfc though, I've been shooting Fuji for so long I can't say that I was very impressed by it when I tried it at a store.
Do you plan to test them out at one point or is Canon long gone for you?
you are very entertaining. I love your reviews . Also very informative.
I love the r 7. My friend let me borrow it for a weekend it was amazing. I've been cheating Fuji for quite a while. I normally just use the evf I prefer that way .also have a Hasselblad x pan .i mostly take landcape imigise. I really love your UA-cam site.
Not cheating but using. I pretty much shoot Fuji most of time
Is it still worth buying Fuji XT3 in 2023 or not?? And how would you put it with Nikon Z5….I am so much confused between this 2 please help!!!!😫😫
I've just bought the full black version as wasn't keen on the silver either 😊
I’m not a big fan of the hinged battery doors either. I’d like to see the Lieca Q2 styled battery system used with Nikon. Indeed, the cost of the battery would increase yet potential damage to the battery door is eliminated making the camera more robust.
Yep. Just a little better specs and I’d get one. Love the look. Held one briefly and liked the build too.
I got the Z50........because I had no idea the Zfc was coming out. It does have excellent image quality.
This is wonderful little camera and I do love taking it lunch - 😂 really has a retro feel and I enjoy setting my own speed and apertures on the dials.
Excellent review, Omar!
The 28mm is arriving in a few days.
love your reviews and thanks for this one!
That said, my wife does have a full black leather case and wow that little Nikon looks sexy😍
I really like what Nikon have done with this and it truly does hark back to the film camera days and looks like a fm2 which isn’t a bad thing.
Great review Omar 👍👍
They just released a full black version; although, you can only buy it directly from Nikon, kind of like a special edition batch.
A leather half case would give it a nice look too
Can you use vintage glass with this camera?
I currently own the Z50, so no need for the Zfc. My main gripe with Nikon is their AF, in the mid-range cameras.
Fun! Aways key! I see you use the A7C and Zv1 for UA-cam and Vlogging. Would you consider this as well? Enjoyed your overview!
Can someone help me !! How do you transfer raw photos to iPad !
Hey Omar...I am really happy that I have found you.
Agree. I would buy the FF version. Now.
Just discovered your channel and mate you're hilarious, love it. Great quality content, following 🙌🙌
Still it's a great choice for casual photographers who want to feel like Meyerowitz during a lunch break and there's nothing wrong with it
I got a xt4, not ready for an upgrade but would like to know what full frames are notable upgrades from the xt4?
God I love the look. My dad’s nikon f2m is still in immaculate condition since the 80’s and I love that camera. Wished that this was FF or at least they had more primes such as 28 or 35. Weird that they only came out with this 40ish? Love the vid as usual mate. You might have tempted me to try it even though love my R6 😊
Thank you, im considering buying either a fuji or nikon and dont know which is better price/quality wise.
Im not yet committed with a full range of lenses so im free to chose.
