Discovering the concept of "non-separation" has made a massive difference for me, thank you Angelo! Non-dual just never hit for me, I think partly because I process it as "there aren't two things", when of course are an infinite number of things appearing. Whereas, for some reason, seeing their "non-separateness" got me somewhere very meaningful this week. To anyone reading: you never know what 'the thing' is that will produce the next big shift. My opinion is to look wide! I go to Loch Kelly for X, Angelo for Y, Adya for Z, Ryan Burton for A, so on and so forth. Build a team around your Awakening process :)

    (3:45) - practice
I dig this type of pointer, questioning the assumed view/belief of what we ultimately think we are. It feels like a dismantling.
Maybe it’ll change (likely) but it blows me away in amazement @ times.
Also, I realize it’s the simplicity of it. Just look, investigate, see, check it out - an exploration….no dogma, belief or pursuit, quite the opposite.
I don’t know how everyone isn’t interested in this.

This exercise is mind opening. At that precise moment, the object and me are just in that "movie frame" -no object, no subject. Just a vivid movie frame

I notice three dimensions flattening to two. No distance between what’s in the visual field and awareness. Mind is settled, not many thoughts.

I had many moments before awaking, I just didn't know what it was. I was always calm focusing on the simple pleasures of life. Listening to the wind, watching a campfire, walking in the woods.

I had an experience of no separation 5 years ago, I had no idea why, I just felt stillness inside and had this perception of reality, I remember being very quiet , just taking care of my kids that were 3 and 5 at that time , I was going through a very traumatic experience in my personal life , only in the past year that came to my knowledge what is spiritual awakening, I remember that day and that experience only happen then..I am not frustrated, I am just riding the wave , watching videos , I am actually on that period of neutrality you described in a video yesterday, patient is part of the process..thanks for all your effort to help the awakening process 🌻

During this exploration the visual field swims and doubles almost like the eyes are crossed. Strong phantom smells come in and enhanced hearing. It feels like there is no body only see legs out in front of where a body was. No edges, everything is in motion. No fear, maybe some sensation where the heart was but that too dissipated.

That was a really good pointer. I could clearly not find any boundary between subject and object. I felt very immersed in the visual field during the inquiry and still do as I walk around afterwards!

A bit trippy. The first time really taking everything around. Ego is not use to me paying less attention to it. Side effects are exactly what you shared. I can feel a suddle resistance. The more attention I put into the peripheral and what is right in front of me, it looks bigger and bigger, it almost looks like it’s moving, even though, it appears solid. Loving the practice. It first started with the trees and now, it’s happing with everything around me. The movement, sounds, visual. Thoughts come, notice that too. Wow!!! Having a hard time saying me, because what I am noticing, is not the me, that’s noticing all of this but really nothing. To try to put in words is, just noticing, with no label.

Thanks for this, it gives me some new ways to think about how to inquire when I do my daily self inquiry at sunset by the lake. I've been spending a lot of time just visually soaking up the patterns of light and trying not to conceptualize, and occasionally asking myself who am I, or what is reality, but often when I do that, my urge is to point my attention towards my head. I can see how trying to find "me" in just the visual field could be insightful and perhaps at some point cause a shift. Even without asking this question, I do sometimes feel the visual field shifting in interesting ways - stretching a little, or widening, or getting darker or lighter, etc. I know these are concepts but my mind does try to explain some of that away by simply telling me these are simply optical phenomena, hypnogogic effects, etc. I try to dismiss these as thoughts, but it's not that easy. I guess they ego is a tricky bugger that will use anything at it's disposal to hold on! :)

Love the background music! Been practicing this daily since it came out. I agree that this is the best visual cueing for me. Can't really describe the experience, though. The 'self' is more of a space, like headlessness. The experience of the objects doesn't seem like anything you describe. The hands typing could be anyone's hands, just hands.

Thank you Angelo. This was the best cue about "the visual way" I ever heard. I had several moments now with glimpses and immediate chatter chiving in, preceeded by weary eyes and a strange visceral feeling. Then you said there might be fear - that's what it probably was. I keep practicing to normalise this more and more. But seriously, not just saying "trying to look back from the visual to find the seeker" but this emphasis on the movement towards the seeker, who is just not be found, was a key for me. 🙏 And also the curiosity and gratefulness, you reminded of, helps so much to let go.

I've been "practicing" these techniques, and I can taste the no separation no distance after a couple of minutes, usually focusing my attention in one specific object and relaxing the eyes... then I perceive just part of "myself" (arms, legs, or feet, but they get pretty blurry, like another element that melts with everything else in the peripheral view... it's like looking at a big painting on a piece of canvas ... but not exactly looking at it from somewhere... more like being inside the canvas... it's very subtle, though ...

Thanks Angelo. This is an interesting one. This experience of non separation has been presenting itself organically over the last few months, but your exercise really focuses in on it. I can't really say that I experience the 'flatness' that Kevin mentions, more the intimacy that you've mentioned. I had experienced that 'all is one' for years, but always with a separation between a 'me' and 'everything'. This little shift removes that gap. It also makes location start to feel almost irrelevant in some way. Again, thank you for all you do.

Do I sit with my experience just as it is, or do I strive for something further along the path of realization. And is there even a path, or am I going in circles.
    Anyway, thank you 😊

Thanks for this Angelo. Are you pointing to the same aspect of consciousness that Sam Harris and Douglas Harding/Richard Lang point to with the "headless way?" Sam Harris speaks of "shifting your plane of attention, small glimpses many times," as does the Headless Way, which emphasizes looking for your head and failing to find it. Thanks!

Powerful exercise! I find it easy with the visual and auditory senses, more challenging with the tactile. I had mild tinnitus this morning so it was helpful to experience the tinnitus "inside my head" and the "external" sounds that previously appeared outside of it. Tactile thought seems to bring an immediate sense of dimensionality. On a side note, surely awakening is about more than a shift in dimensionality alone. I watched your interview with Gangaji and noticed a naturally expression of compassion that seems to be missing in younger teachers speaking about non-duality. I've heard younger teachers say, "There are no people," which implies no need for compassion. I would love for you to do a video on the role of compassion in awakening if you haven't already.

I've been self inquiring for months now and is it normal that when I desire enlighten and I ask myself how do I get enlightened then I have this quiet and peaceful silence like when I self inquire. So now all my questions leads to this awareness of calmness and peace is this normal should my mind be this still when I ask myself questions "positive" or even "negative" questions lead to this void of peace is this normal

Hey Angelo, I struggle with getting past the filters of ideas and concepts that are so deeply rooted. When I look around I see the visual field as ‘inside of me’ but not that the actual world out there is inside of me.
It feels like the same way that a video camera would show the world on its screen, and so in a way the world is inside the screen - but if you look around it’s also ‘out there’.
Sometimes it feels like no seperation is just a way of framing things, or a way of describing the first hand experience of the visual field being projected in the mind.
I want it to feel real, but it’s so hard to drop all of these beliefs and it feels like I am trying to force something that isn’t already there.
What would you recommend? Thanks 🙏

    Hello Angelo,
when you say "move your attention towards what feels like you", my attention turns to a sensation in my belly or to the dense energy behind my eyes. Even though I know I'm not this sensations because they come and go, it feels like an artificial "dividing point" arises from here. As if I am the observer and everything around that point is observed. It feels very sticky in some way.
Do you have a suggestion on how this layer/idea can be solved?

@@SimplyAlwaysAwake, it's like I am trying to grasp it with my mind, at the same time I know that where you are pointing to is not graspable with the mind ... this inner dissonance can create a (very) frustrated feeling!
