    1-Realize whatever you are has nothing to do with a narrative (you can stop at any time) 2:00
    2- Be willing to let go of your spiritual identity (meditation techniques, experiences you had, spiritual beliefs...) 7:20
    3- Get a one-pointed approach: there is this huge mystery. The mind becomes like a laser. If you stay like this, at one point, it will start to feel different. 9:55

    Thanks for all your efforts to help people waking up! Last night around 4 am I had a dream walking in a street full of people and vendors , I was self inquiring and had a big shift , then my body was standing on the street but my soul was flying around , then I woke up with an intense headache that lasted a few hours , I meditated after that , I cried over emotions I could not recognized but I felt very relieved and brought me to hours of intense peace, The dream was vivid and intense , kind scary , I don’t want to analyze this , I just wanted to share the experience, I don’t talk to anyone about spiritual awakening, Good Night 💤

    Everything is starting to make sense. I'm a little over half way through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies Three-Year Program. Now, it's no wonder why becoming a tool for spirits who are curing people, situations and so forth are putting me through the wringer of your videos. To be able to channel healing powers, it's necessary that I totally discard my old identity, clear myself out, expand and become one-pointed in my focus. Then, the spirits can do their work through me. It's a complete transformation process.

    It seems to me that one difficulty in letting go of the narrative and memory of past, is that at the same time, we know we need memory to function in the world. that is the slight fear, yet intinctively I see it can't be true that we would lose our memory.

    One narrative I have is that "I'm on the outside looking in". That I will not experience the experiences others are having. A friend told me that 'I am indeed on the inside, believing that I'm on the outside looking in.'.

    It just goes around and around in a vicious cycle that doesn’t make sense. If I think who am I? And the answer I hear is well I don’t know because I’ve discounted everything that I do know. Then I ask well who are you that doesn’t know? In return… I don’t know? 🤷🏼‍♀️

    “That’s the narrative I’ve been using to stabilize myself in the mind,” you said. That’s a very interesting way of putting it. Fantastic! And we do seem to use a narrative to keep us in a narrative. We even have metanarratives-narratives about our narratives.

    Your videos are always so profound. Abandon practice, abandon concepts, just BE. But isn't "(big M) Mind" still something that can be grasped and identified with. To me, even contemplating is doing too much. I think you are really pointing to something much more primordial and subtle; something akin to the "source of thought," or what preceeds thought: emptiness/unknowing/void.

      'The mind or the mouth cannot act of their own accord', said Ramana Maharshi, 'Recognise the force of the Divine Will and keep quiet!'
      That does require practice ('practice makes perfect') ---because we habitually and impulsively engage in dualistic thought and perception.

    I've been backing myself into a corner while doing self inquiry where as I am asking myself who/where I am and observing the thoughts my mind starts trying to try to create a 3rd party point of view . . . Like I expect to feel/see myself outside my body. This distracts me and I circle it, trying to resolve it.
    How would you accept or integrate a striving for a differing point of view during the meditation? I've not been able to bypass it by observing it and am trying to determine if I should continue inquiring into it.
    I hope this makes any sense to someone.

    When I do self enquiry and ask who am I, there are no responses. I put myself in a quiet state of mind with no mental chatter, then ask the question. Am I doing it wrong? I'm finding that I can potter around my workshop for hours without any thoughts or emotions, but all of a sudden, I have a very intense reaction of anger or sadness in response to a thought that just pops into mind. It sometimes takes a minute or two to realise it's just a thought. Walking in public is a similar scenario. I'm not into any spiritual doctrines or religion, so I have no linguistic reference to the experience. Any thoughts or pointers?

    • @eoghain5021
      @eoghain5021 Рік тому +2

      When you ask, 'Who am I?' it may seem like there are no answers. But look for the source of attention. Look for the sense of the 'I' that asked the question. It's there somewhere. The Maharshi method of self inquiry has you hold on to this sense of I (the I-thought which is a precursor to all other thoughts) until it is transcended

    Why would you want to accelerate to most natural thing that ever "exists"?

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  Рік тому +1

      Good question. The answer is because there is a tremendous amount of resistance to this natural process in human consciousness. As we wake up we become acutely aware of this, so become interested in ways of addressing the habituated resistance patterns.

    • @nicolacotti8071
      @nicolacotti8071 Рік тому

      @@SimplyAlwaysAwake resistance is one thing (a natural thing as well), could the other side of the coin be "pushing things"? in other words; hesitation and wanting. I'd say leaving both aside, is the key.

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  Рік тому

      @@nicolacotti8071 yes both hesitation (aversion) and wanting are intimately intertwined with identity. There’s often a good amount of “work” unwinding these tendencies after awakening.
