Informative, i have one hurdle i cannot seem to get over. Can you link up 2 wireless mics to the x4? Scenario: One mic per helmet (pilot and pillion) to record both voices ?

Will it work with others like DJI 1? Thinking to buy DJI1 while ver.2 looks not that good, might 32bit float is great, but overall questionable

thank for this video... you know if is possible to connect two DJI microphones at the same time to capture audio from both microphones.?

I don't think so no - not unless you were to connect a dji mic receiver to the microphone input on the x4

Jason, Thank you for this video. Your steps worked well. I look forward to mounting the 360 on my tractor and use it to record working on the farm. I also subsribed to your channel. Thanks again.

This is great but do you know if we can use this mic while also using the insta360 Bluetooth remote? I’m wondering if you can use both Bluetooth devices at the same time or just one.

Hi I haven't tried but I think I saw somewhere that you can't - but I could be wrong!! You could still use mic internal recording and sync in post though.

@@RoadTales Nice. I ended up figuring out this works as well. I take a lot of car videos with my x4 mounted outside the car while also having the dji mic connected wirelessly by the exhaust pipe. Then I control everything with the insta360 gps remote from inside the cabin. Works great

@@JakeAlexander. Awesome mate. I mounted x4 on the bonnet and the mic 2 on myself with the remote on the wheel. The voice was recording with no problem at all albeit, the quality though is only okay when compared to original mic.

The audio quality is subterranean when you connect the Insta360 X4 to the DJI Mic 2. This is really not usable.

Very good video, I'm looking for a method to be able to make motovlogs with an insta360 X4 and record the voice at the same time.
The X4 is going to be on the motorcycle and has to withstand rain and inclement weather, so putting a receiver and losing water resistance is not possible.
Looking at your different tests, I don't know which would be the best option: B or C (I would have the microphone inside the helmet with a lavalier)
    Any other option?
In your opinion, apart from the DJI, what other Bluetooth microphone can provide better sound quality?
Thank you very much in advance and keep up the good work.

Hi I don't ride a bike so can't be help specifically on that sorry, I would think option C might be best - I haven't tested other mics yet (I have to buy all the stuff I use/test as I don't get free products from brands)

@@JasonRobertsVideo Thank you very much, now I will look at what could be the best small recorder that can be installed in a lavalier.
Do you think it would be better to look for one that records 32 bits (more than anything it would be marketing) or would a 24 bit one be enough?

Also looking into the motovlogging option.
ik in a comment you mentioned you don't do the motorcycle stuff.
but if you come across any ideas or input, it would be much appreciated and hit a wide market on motovloggers.
i'm basically going to use my insta360 as a dashcam incase of accident or getting pulled over, and also as a way to video my longer trips.
you can connect to your motorcycle helmet receivers (sena and cardo) via bluetooth but downside is, now those cant connect to your phone. So it defeats the purpose of being able to listen to your gps prompts and music when riding. I can't be looking down at my phone while riding to check the gps all the time.
SO a standalone microphone that can connect to the 360 via bluetooth, bluetooth is ideal as i don't want to have to do alot of post editing, just want to turn on and go. A mic that holds good sound quality, can pickup motorcycle and traffic sounds, as well as my voice, and also while being able to tuck it into the chin of the helmet would be ideal. losing the waterproof seal with the receiver is not an option. and onboard audio wouldn't pickup my voice inside my helmet and probably alot of wind noise too.

      @JasonRobertsVideo 3 місяці тому

Sounds like a tricky situation really :( Not sure what to suggest really - I don't have experience with riding - but sounds like you 100% want a Bluetooth mic in your helmet. Sorry can't be of more help.
