This is something which I wanted to make for a very long time now, did not know how to start, and because of the fear of failure / unknown I procrastinated too long. I am sure it's not the best approach, and can be improved dramatically, but I will do it again once I am more experienced. Why is this so hard? The Factions series should show images & music from the actual faction (in this video Night Elves of the Alliance). But I decided to add images from all night elves zones, whether they are Highborne or Druids from Cenarion Circle. I avoided to show Satyrs and High Elves, as I believe they belong more to other faction movies. I've done the right thing? It's you who can judge that. Do you like the video? So many memories, this was my first sights in wow in 2005. I miss it so much, all those days and friends and it hurts me that it cant be back. I played wow many years and other MMOs after, but there is only one first time. I have more nostalgia for this then for my actual childhood lol.
My current boyfriend and I are getting married in a year. I was looking for a World of Warcraft song to play in the background of the wedding, because we met through WoW. The more I listen to these songs, the more fond memories of the classic and especially of The Burning Crusade come back to me. I feel so nostalgic for those times! I wish I could go back.

Hello! This is magnificent! The night elf was my favourite race years ago, now it had been repleced by the blood elf, but still the memories will live on forever... I love any song that is related to them. Because their soundtrack is amazing and very calm and it fits their lore too. Thank you for everything you've done! :)
Thanks so much for this. This brings back all the feelings and memories I have for classics wow and this muuuuuusic omg. I'm emotional right now... This is the essence of my love to wow
Night elves are my second favorite WoW race behind only dwarves. It's the Tolkien inspiration behind both races that have always interested me. Teldrassil Darkshore and Ashenvale especially before Cataclysm, seem like such lovely and beautiful places.
There's very little to compare the two with. They don't have similar aesthetics, origins, or even belief systems. Their cultures are wildly different and their understandings of art and warfare are just as polarized. The only way they are really comparable is that they are both called 'Elves' and use the Tolkien spelling. Besides that, the Night Elves and the Orcs of Azeroth are probably some of the most unique spin-offs of Tolkien's ideas, because if they weren't named what they were they'd practically be original creations.
This makes me think of the Night Elf warrior I started in late '05. Azeroth was a vast, new world for me to get lost in. Met a lot of interesting people and made a lot of memories. I still frequent WoW in much smaller doses these days, but it's so alien and foreign compared to what it was back then. Not even Classic scratches at the surface much. To me, there was an entirely different breed of people and players back then that made WoW what it was. That's a hard thing to imitate and/or recreate.
I will never forget the first time I logged in. I rolled a male Night Elf Hunter and hit enter. Once the short intro was over the ground was littered with hundreds of skeletons and bodies that hadn't released. I had no idea what to make of it.
i main horde now but i started vanilla as night elf hunter. back then you had to do quests to get your first pet. Miss the old days in teldrassil and darnasus... T.T
FFS, they destroy all zones I had nostalgic feelings for!! On other hand, by doing so they won't be able to lure me back with nostalgic feelings, yet anoter evil enemy to kill, yet another epic set to grind, just don't justify investing time and money in playing mmo anymore for me.
Was a really bad move burning Teldrassil for nothing. I am now really sad after discovering the justification is basically none. I don't want to play in BfA in Sylvanas's Horde. And I play usually both factions...
My very first roll was a hunter night elf and the starting zone was so magical all the way through Ashenvale. Eventually I went with an Orc hunter because there seemed to be too many kids in the Alliance. I got him to lvl 80 in Wrath before I stopped playing in 2010. This makes me really miss it but in a good way.
Don't know their motivation, but maybe they thought there were too many Elves in the story. Anyway, also hate very much what they've done to my favorite race in the game.
Yes, Night Elves are by far my favorite race in WoW...even tho I am now a filthy Tauren (what can you do...friends play Horde scum so I have to as well...) I will always consider them as "my race" in game. Fell in love with them since the moment I saw them in Warcraft 3...as a huge Tolkien fan then they really reminded me of Sindar Elves.
@Meisio I listen to your vanilla vids almost everyday and now I uncontrollably want to play vanilla WoW up to WotlK. WoW was good back in those years, man, I miss it. Now it's so shit I don't even want to look at it. I want the old pvp system, the old talents tree and the old world. I'm so eager waiting for classic servers!
This was the golden age of WoW no doubt. It was so addictive, unexpected (but in a good way) and so immersive. It is a bit shame that they did not manage to replicate that in newer versions. I mean, the opinions can differ from player to player, and I guess they have to adapt to the new generation of players, but as you said, for people like us, _the old ways_ were better. We'll have soon what we desired. Hopefully Vanilla will have the old players back, not the new generation. Thank you for being a constant viewer! Much appreciated. Meisio

Not counting the movie processing which usually is between 5 to 10 hours, depends on your computer (filming & processing in 4K). I hope I answered your question :) Welcome! Meisio
