  • BMW e60/e61 PDC Failure, How to replace front parking sensor.
    Hi everyone and welcome to another Bimmer Fixer video.
    In this video I will show you how to diagnose a failed parking sensor without a diagnostic tool. The PDC warning light is another common warning light on the e60 and e61 but most of the time it is just a parking sensor gone bad. In this video I will show you how to find and replace the faulty parking sensor.

    Great video buddy! Nice to find a video on that sensor without taking the headlight out. Mine has been broken for months but will now crack on and get it done. Thank you for the content.

    How did you know exactly which sensor it is that is not working properly?

      So if you activate the parking sensors they will make a clicking noise if they are working. If you watch from about 0:27 I show you how to activate them safely and find the broken one. 👍🏻

    it takes 5 minutes to remove headlight. then you get perfect access to outer pdc.

      @BMW 5 E60 FIX NAPRAWY Thanks for the feed back. I think I was thinking of the people that didn't have the long extensions and with exeon headlight as the ballast can get in the way when removing them.

    Hi there, I have a problem with my parking sensors (front). Taken it to a garage and plugged the machine into it. It's come back with all 4 sensors gone 😢. Bought 4 new one still the same av noticed the sensor plug right hand side has Corrosion on it and also sensor inside.. can it be the plug that clips on to the sensors it's self I need to change, don't fancy chopping into wire when I don't need to 🤣👍 2012 bmw 640d f13. Thanks hope you can help 🙂

      Hi Kyle, sorry to hear about the parking sensors giving you trouble. It could be 1 of 2 things the first like you say could definitely be the plugs, its very common for them to get moisture in them and that leading to corrosion. Before changing the plugs I would give then a really good clean I would recommend electrical contact cleaner. WD40 is good for improving the connection but contact cleaner will clean the connectors properly. The 2nd is it could be the PDC (parking distance control) unit. That said I would like to think that this would have popped on on the scan you had done. If it was me I would give those connectors a really good clean and check as best you can for any broken wires/connections. Sorry I couldnt be any more help. Please let me know how you get on, I will ask around too to see if anyone has managed to fix this before. All the best 👍🏻

    I have the same problem, I checked the sensors, but none of them are making this clicking sound. So it could be the module itself?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  3 місяці тому

      @zerocool51 Ah yeah that definitely sounds like it could be the module itself. Is the fault intermittent or once they stopped working they never worked again?

    • @zerocool51
      @zerocool51 3 місяці тому

      @@TheBimmerFixer I just bought the car couple weeks ago like this. The previous owner told me one of the sensors is not working, but it doesn't sound like it. Maybe I will pull out the module, spray it with some contact cleaner, maybe...

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  3 місяці тому

      @zerocool51 Yeah good idea. It might only bring back some of the sensors but at least you'll know which ones aren't working. You never know they mighy all come back online 🤞🏻 Let me know how you get on.
