Idk why the fuck they stopped making the awd Hemi. I heard the announcement of the awd challenger and got super excited but was extremely let down when its only in a v6
It's too bad FCA didn't feel the same way that many Mopar fans do about the AWD Hemi Charger. What was even worse was having Pentastar V6 in the AWD Charger. The engine has little low end torque and the Charger is a heavy car at about 4400 pounds with AWD. If FCA was going to build a V6 Charger, they should have built it with a turbo V6. I own a Taurus SHO and I really like this car because it has the turbo V6. All I did was add an aftermarket tune and I run 13.1s in the quarter mile with it. If I upgraded the intercooler along with a revised tune, the car will run mid 12s. Not bad performance for only about $1,000 upgrade. Upgrade the turbos and downpipe for another for about another $7-8 K and the car will run mid 11s. The nice part is you don't lose drivability. Who know FCA might come out with an AWD Hellcat Charger?
Those SHO's are pretty sweet rides - true sleeper. I do agree, they need to get the Hemi's in AWD. most will say just get a Jeep/Durango but many of us really prefer the Chargers/Challengers.
Dodge should give the Hellcat AWD and two motors, one in the back and one in the front! With the front motor auto like the Eldorado and the back motor with a manual transaxle!

My only complaint on my 14 AWD is the 5 speed transmission. It’s really awful. It hunts really bad when you give it a lot of gas, when you’re trying to get on it and merge, for example.
The NAG-1 was fine until Mopar decided to make the TCM divorced from the PCM. My old 300C SRT8 NAG-1 shifted like a boss. My 2014 300C JVLE AWD HEMI trans is definitely not on the same league even though it is also. NAG-1 5 speed... I can add a Z-Automotive Transformer to remedy that but I would rather have an 8 speed. To bad 8 speeds ZFs don't fit with the Borg-Warner 44-40 transfer case on the current LX platform floor pan.
@@crazybenny747 Interesting, I have very few complaints about the shifting in my 2014 300C JVLE AWD HEMI, they should be identical. The biggest thing I didn't like is that it was too aggressive about coasting downshifts. Solved that by making tweaks with a HP Tuner. It's a little early on upshifts in normal mode, but sport mode is great.
@@snek9353 the transmission is identical but the PCM is different from first gens, like I said above the TCM and PCM are divorced.y 2008 would bark the tires on every shift until 4th gear. My 2014 because of shitty programming likes to shift at a whole whoppin 5300rpm or so my 08 shifted at 6200-6400. I understand that 5.7s have a Ram 1500 cam bit why fuck up the shift points so bad? Yes you can kinda over ride it in manual mode a bit (I shift at 5500-5700rpm, it's hard to judge when because of the MASSIVE LAG in the TCM on 2011+ cars). I will be buying the transformer or adding an aftermarket TCM.

So ironic that both vehicles mentioned in the video are ones I own lmao. AWD needs to be brought back!! 2013 Dodge Charger RT 1994 C4 Corvette 1992 Foxbody Mustang GT
the tazers can unlock a lot of options for you, you can disconnect the rear breaks too and have some fun while also killing tracking abs anti lock breaks and switch to rear wheel drive etc.
I love my awd jeep srt8 if the trackhawk was out when I got my hellcat I would have gotten it instead so I’m probably going to swap to trackhawk drive train
Yes I didn't know it either. I found out when I was looking at AWD vs RWD cars. I'm a tech at a CDJR dealer and can easily look up he options by VIN. I seen that by accident. Makes sense on the Charger RT too.
Not only do the AWD cars get the better gears, but at least for my '14 300C it also got larger sway bars, larger brakes, higher rate shocks, and one piece lower control arms. And with all that the AWD is only 190lbs heavier.
I like how you put a version that doesn’t come in Awd in the thumbnail. Edit* After watching the video I see why you didn’t put his car in the thumbnail. I’m sure there are plenty of people in the snowy areas that wish the Awd R/T would come back.
My opinion here, AWD is awesome on the street and really fun to drive. It does limit the burnouts 😉 Not sure I can say the same at the drag strip 😈 Would love to get in a AWD car at the strip just to feel the difference.
Even more than what Mike said, a 5.7 AWD plus the Tazer not only gives a Force RWD mode. But also the line lock function, push a couple buttons on the steering wheel pump the brakes and floor it. It'll hold ONLY the front brakes while turning off the AWD to do a perfect burnout. PS don't turn the ESC all the way off, the partial off will allow a burnout and keeps the brake lock differential so it'll spin both.
I don't think the stroke will clear the driveshaft tube in the oil pan. I know you can run a 6.4 based 392 but I am not sure if a 5.7 based stroker will clear, it has a much longer stroke.

As long u maintain these awd cars. U will have it for a long time. I’ve own mine for a year or 2 and clocked 150.000 miles over all. U can do so much.
Nice! Man, you're getting your moneys worth out of that Hemi. Certainly fun to drive
I would love it if Dodge brings back the awd hemi charger
You commented this a year ago, now we are probably getting AWD twin turbo 6 cylinder cars
@@timbrwolf1121 - You should get one. They're awesome.
Dodge should give the Hellcat AWD and two motors, one in the back and one in the front! With the front motor auto like the Eldorado and the back motor with a manual transaxle!
I have a awd hemi pursuit 2016 . They say over 5 second 0-60 but I measured under 5.
I’m so glad u started talking about awd
You don't see many of them around anymore. At least around me. They're a blast to drive
@@RTLife no u don’t. I’m trying to give my awd pursuit a better look. To show that u can make something of them. As sometimes it’s hard to get nice wheels or nice springs. It’s hard very hard. But I’m managed to make my dream become a reality. You should check it what I been doing man. Ct mopars miss u man. Can’t wait to take a ride out soon ua-cam.com/video/DSUBT6_467Q/v-deo.html
i have a 2011 rt max awd and i want to upgrade but have no idea where to start. only 1 company makes headers for the awd and i’d like to cam but don’t know what’s all needed for a reliable set up
I plan on getting another awd lol one day even tho they 7 years old now
The thought has crossed my mind. Would be a fun build!
@@RTLife awd 5.7 with stroker 392 kit lol with the scat pack packages 😂😂😂😂 Then it be a real 5.7 scat pack
Love my 2010 rt awd. Might have to find an 11-14 awd as a long term keeper as I like the interior better on those.
The pickings are getting slim! But. man these AWD Hemi's are a blast
How’d u get a rt awd from a 2010 model??
Hey I wanted to get headers for my 300 does anyone know if there’s a difference between awd and rwd
Yes there is.
My 2011 chrysler 300 5.7 is great... But the awd kicks in and out when it shouldn't. Today i plowed through 12 inches of snow and a 2 foot snowbank with mine, then when I was coming back through i got stuck at the end of my driveway in the snow I already plowed through... That shit was annoying
I know this off topic but I’m looking to get a new hood either from bmc or amerihood. I was wondering where did you get windshield fluid adapter or if you have one at all
I finally put Long tubes on my AWD to replace my shorties for it. Now im sittin on a set of shorties and high flow mids. I was gonna throw a jay greene cam in it during my header install but going a different direction.. AGAIN xD ive got like 4k qorth of parts for this car in my garage..and being the only AWD in 1k miles? Gonna stay there😬
Hook 🪝 “N” Book...🚀
100% - it's a lot of fun
Still waiting on an Awd charger hellcat
That thing would be an animal!
I Liked the old days in high school when we all drove shit boxes for $700 and piched in our lunch money for gas and mickey's 40s and the best thing was listening to our favorite tunes usually 🎵 on our am fm tuner through the tape player while rolling joints finger banging a good book 📖🤟 📖
We still do that but in my friends c4
All wheel drive gets the traction 😎👍
My only complaint on my 14 AWD is the 5 speed transmission. It’s really awful. It hunts really bad when you give it a lot of gas, when you’re trying to get on it and merge, for example.
it would be amazing if they could do 5.7L and 392 AWD with these 8 speeds in the Charger/Challenger
It shouldn't, something is wrong.
Yeah I got one of the last AWD RT chargers and boy when the AWD is on I gap everyone from the start mustang owners are like WTF!!
Mine leaves all RWD R/T’s😂💯
yah they can't get out of the hole on a dig race - AWD launches like a boss!
@@RTLife definitely it always buries me in my seat
👌
Not only that but stang's and camaro ....I am new to this hemi thing as I was a crown vic Ford fan boy , but now the my foot has the other shoe🤔 or something like that. It's a good feeling. The best thing is my pursuit looks like a v6 stocker 😈
Awesome channel brother! I been subbed a while. Your cousin should look up how to do a button remap with taser. I think feature is available pre 2015. I turn my awd to rw in 1 push but your supposed to be in park.
It is, I've done it on my 14.
Y'all should race!!
I would need to put the radials on. With my current tires he would crush me off the line. Roll racing he has no chance.
You are good at replying to your viewers!! Keep up the Best HEMI content!
My friend has one of these with a few mods it's a great car. Also a fun car to run my MKS Ecoboost against.
Nothing against my V6 AWD but, if they offered the 15 or newer with a hemi AWD. No questions hemi all day!!!
I hate that we cant turn off the traction control on our cars though.
Remove the ABS sensors on front wheels and it'll be off permanently
I have a AWD Durango R/T and would love a challenger as my dream car but I'm not thrilled about RWD, so I might get a AWD Challenger and supercharge it. What do you think about that bro is it worth it?
How did he manage to get one for 4 grand if you don’t mind me asking
Smokin ' Metal Carfun sliding thro. Great 🎥 great buy💪💯💯
So ironic that both vehicles mentioned in the video are ones I own lmao. AWD needs to be brought back!!
2013 Dodge Charger RT
1994 C4 Corvette
1992 Foxbody Mustang GT
Awd is great till you want to do a burnout...
Which is why you select RWD with the Tazer, as the young man mentioned.
yah he went out & got the tazer to he can deactivate AWD
the tazers can unlock a lot of options for you, you can disconnect the rear breaks too and have some fun while also killing tracking abs anti lock breaks and switch to rear wheel drive etc.
Yeah man..that and traction control..Off..!!🔥🔥
What's the year make and price
I love my awd jeep srt8 if the trackhawk was out when I got my hellcat I would have gotten it instead so I’m probably going to swap to trackhawk drive train
My 2012 RT AWD is red, wish it was blue but oh well
Man I have been wanting to do this to my challenger rt so fucking back
Challenger R/T AWD would be really badass - plants heads to the back of the seat!
@@RTLife I bet i wish I know what i would I had to replace on my RT to get her AWD
I think they should make that an incentive for the 5.7 since they don’t up the hp difference every year that would be dope
BTW, did you guys know RWD cars got a 2.73 rear axle and the AWD cars got 3.08's? I believe it's too make up for the extra weight.
I didn't know they had the 3.08 gearing - does make sense though. They're great off the line
I have the 3.09 rear end in my 2014 rt plus/max road and track
Why does it seem like no one mods the awd chargers though? Never seen a modded one
ua-cam.com/video/IhqRXrQleJw/v-deo.html
My AWD SRT jeep is nuts
Do you think I should buy a used one with m 70k + miles?
How much power can you add to a awd system
Any reason why they got rid of the AWD?
I think $$$
CAFE
I’m curious a FBO awd 5.7 vs a stock 392
He look like the guy from the show man vs food lmfao 😂
He really does
Are you recording with a GoPro
Yes - gopro 7 black. The video of it recording us in the car is my iPhone
My opinion here, AWD is awesome on the street and really fun to drive. It does limit the burnouts 😉 Not sure I can say the same at the drag strip 😈 Would love to get in a AWD car at the strip just to feel the difference.
yah an AWD Hemi would make for a super fun street racer. It has such a big advantage. Drag Racing - give me the RWD all day long
Force rwd and totally disable traction control/esp and any awd turns into a burnout machine.
PS don't turn the ESC all the way off, the partial off will allow a burnout and keeps the brake lock differential so it'll spin both.
where in the northeast are you located at?
New York
@@RTLife awesome! I'm from the WNY area
From wny to are rwd that bad in the winter trying to make my mind up on which one to choose
AWD with a 392 stroker would be sick!!
That would be so much fun! Would be a street racing dig monster
I don't think the stroke will clear the driveshaft tube in the oil pan. I know you can run a 6.4 based 392 but I am not sure if a 5.7 based stroker will clear, it has a much longer stroke.
Can we get a poll or everyone flood dodges site so we can get awd v8
That's a solid idea - not sure why they decided to stop with the AWD Hemi in 2015
@@RTLife how were the sales for those things when they were around maybe that played a factor. Im pretty sure we have awd for the challenger atm too
Mines got almost 200k now🥴 walked a scatty light to light. Probably gonna destroy my T case with my next mod though 🥴
P.S BC racing coilovers are nice, but i scrape now. Corners like it should, less float.
That’s so incredibly loud shit 😭😆
hahaha
