disagree with the last story (litterally spun around in my room to the phone with a loud "WHAT?!" (No idea why i did that, had earphones in) when i heard your judgement. You should've seen my familys face.) He tried to help his brother and was called a liar.
In his situation i would've left him with these problems alone, because not being trusted (and hence being called a liar) but suddenly being good enough for emotional support? Meh. Dunno about you, but i definetely would be hurt about that. A lot.
He didn't really make it about himself, he just basically told them "i told you so, you wouldn't listen".
If people don't care about you warning them about the pit they don't deserve you being helping them get out after they fell in.
That's at least how i see it. No offense.🤷♂️

I’d like to disagree with the narrator for Story 6. While yes, brother is sad and needs comfort, OP tried to warn him. They tried to point out all of the itty bitty red flags, and the extended family didn’t stop their ranting about how he’s not family. Like, one, keep it in your head that you don’t like him, or write it down in a journal. Don’t just express it to his face. Plus, brother accused OP of lying aggressively instead of saying something like “Hey, I think you’re wrong, I don’t see proof and I don’t think that’s what’s going on.” So, in my OPINION, OP isn’t the jerk, but neither is brother. It’s the extended family. Remember, this is my OPINION.

I agree. OP got burned for telling the truth, and by saying stuff like "nobody could have foreseen this" they're just twisting the knife further. I can't blame OP one bit for being bitter about this. Does the brother need comfort in this moment? Yes, but NOT at the OP's expense. Which is what's happening right now.
Brother owes OP an apology for calling OP a liar. Father owes OP an apology for chewing OP out afterward. _Then_ (but _only_ then) OP can apologize for being angry at them.

Also the boss could fire one secetary (if he wanted to...) but he can never fire his whole team for such minor revenge!
First story: That is straight up THEFT!!! That Karen needs to be fired! And if nothing is done, do what she does and turn her word back on her.
If the manager doesn't cover the theft let the police do that and maybe talk to corporate about the manager ignoring it. Usually works wonders on their motivation to not screw over that specific employee.
And if he's getting unfair about that, send in a few complaints in writing and get some friends who can back this up, so you can get rid of him when he tried to fuck you over.
In a world where everyone only cares about themselves, politely asking sadly doesn't always work. Sometimes more drastic measures are required.

I’m surprised on Story #3 the wife didn’t kick out her in-laws to a hotel since they had Covid. How inconsiderate knowing there’s a young child that just had surgery who would be more susceptible to infection.

Story 1: The employees need to file a class action lawsuit against the Karen for theft and against the boss as well as the company for contributory negligence (even if it is just small claims court). With that sort of pressure, Karen will get fired.
Story 1: the way the economy is right now the Keurig cups they are worth a lot of money and she needs to learn to back the hell off and learn not to steal anybody's stuff
Last story: They said OP should focus more on her brother and stop making the whole shebang about herself. Well, that's exactly what she TRIED to do, and she got shot down for doing so!!! She most certainly is NOT the jerk, narrator!
The brother trying to tell the truth about the dad’s family- he’s tried telling them how these idiots feel about his brother when the family talks trash about him! They say he’s lying because the family has told them some feeble apology and then gotten worse behind their back!! Sadly, this happens all the time because dad doesn’t keep talking to his parents!! A whole bunch of Aholes! Then calling him a liar when he’s told them several times what was being said!! What a family!!

Last Story: How the hell is OP the AH?? They shot the messenger, and now that they find out the truth themselves they expect comfort from the messenger that is indifferent about the situation? Yes this is the best way to get siblings to not care about each other. OP better get an apology before even considering "comforting" their brother.
On the first story again, op you all need to tell her, IF IT DOESN'T BELONG TO HER DON'T TOUCH IT.
Story 1: Okay, if your boss won't discipline or fire this Karen over all of this, then i have a solution here; Once her back is turned, start going through her things and start taking her things. If its okay for her to go through other people things because they are out there... then start going through and grabbing her items. See how she likes it. If the boss won't do much of anything to the Karen, then they have no right to get mad at anyone else for doing it.
Story 2: Good on the OP for not taking that guides BS and setting the record straight with the boss. The guide knew that the people in the brewery had authority to have people out of the brewery.... especially when issues arise, just like the one in the malt room here. So for the guide to get all huffy like this and try and get the OP in trouble.... she should consider herself lucky all she got was a warning and not fired. Stuff like this is why you should always stand up for yourself.
Story 3: OP has every right in the world to be angry at the in-laws here. Whether its Covid or even a common cold, if you are sick, don't go and visit your family, especially when your baby just had surgery. The subsequent treatment from the MIL & FIL made all of this worse. Youre in someone else's home with a newborn that just had surgery. If you dont like it, then leave. 8 months or not, the OP has every right to still be bitter over all of this, and i would consider banning them outright from your house.... regardless of what the husband says or does.
Story 4: If i could personally give this OP a standing ovation, i would. Servers should be able to do this much more often. Those 2 old crows were terrible and for no reason. I hate it when people go out to restaurants and act like this. Whistling and snapping your fingers are among the worst things you can do to a server and it should be grounds to throw them out. Good thing the OP didnt get in any trouble over this.
Story 5: No way is the OP a jerk here. Why would you want this guy in your current place, much less at your new one? I get wanting to help out a friend and help with rent, but he shouldn't be your responsibility. Unless he can grow up and clean up his act, don't let him move into your new place.
Story 6: No way is the OP a jerk here... the extended family are. The OP tried many times to warn the brother and other family members about what they were saying and doing. The extended family are absolutely terrible here and i say screw all of them. I hate to say it, but the "i told you so" line is justified here. I think the OP was looking out for the brother in the long run, and the fact he was called a liar, only to be proven true doesn't excuse it. I do think the OP could be comforting the brother a bit more here, but the brother could also apologize for calling the OP a liar. Overall though, the extended family are awful and i would not want anything to do with any of them after this.

In the first/title story with the office theif. When Karen kept sticking to her claim that because it was "left out in the open," that meant that it was "free" for anyone to use. Someone should have looked her in the und said, "so you wouldn't mind if someone took things off of your desk, right?"
