Secondly, you're right. Generally speaking, if you invite someone out somewhere, unless it's talked about in conversation beforehand, the one who invited typically pays up the bill.

I had something similar happen to me as story #3. I make tamales once in a blue moon, and my mother's friends demanded(not asked) that i make them the next weekend. I told them no, that I had plans. They tried to make them themselves, and I heard they were TERRIBLE! A couple of months later, one of the ladies asked if i could teach her how to make them, and I spent 12 hours at her house making tamales. If they had just asked me, I would have done it. They are not entitled to my cooking.

Yeah screw multi-level marketing. My mother got entangled in Amway back in the day. Pretty much bankrupted her.
In my day we called it Pyramid Scheme. But yeah Amway and other ripoffs out there are appalling.
Story #2: It REALLY sounds like the friend's just a food dater! Someone that just goes on dates to get free food.
Story #4: She thinks of him as the nice, safe guy, who will 100% take her back. No questions asked! Now that she's done traveling around the world and getting all the "sausage" that she wanted. It makes me wonder if she ever even liked the guy!

I was thinking the exact same thing with story 4. As soon as she was done getting pumped and dumped for her two year hot girl summer, she came back to the husband she left and hoped he would accept her back like nothing happened. She doesn't need to go back to him, she needs to go back to the streets.
With the grad oarty; it takes 8 to 12 hours to 'proof' the dough. That sauce can be made that day. The cook time per pizza is approx. 40 minutes So for a home oven that's 2 pizzas at a time. 15 people may be 6 pizzas
As some1 else already commented: We dont even know if the family got all the ingredients OP would need, some people use some special flour or semolina. Also I wouldn´t like to make dough for such a big party by hand or in a normal "homestyle" kitchen machine.
And I totally agree with you that a good dough isnt rlly possible in under half a day, after that it only gets better (for some days, if you handle it right).
But finally: Is OP the guest at his sisters party, or just some free laborer for his family...?!? The way they treat him is just disgusting!
Story #3: seriously this family literally needs to tell OP these things ahead of time like a couple weeks in advance about these things bcuz when it comes to Pizza it takes a few hours for the dough to rise and everything else
People like that just expect people that can cook or who are cooks to be able to make something at the drop of a hat. Its super annoying.... speaking from experience.

story 4: I wouldn't necessarily know, but maybe walking out is forgivable. Coming back and pretending like everything is great and you didn't just cause irreparable harm to both the husband you vowed to and the child you created is not.

Last story: on the one hand, people did not decide to move the date of the graduation. They had other things to do and depending on when the change was communicated, maybe it was hard to change their plans last minute. So them not coming is not necessarily them not caring to come.
That said, it is clear that the brother is not over that yet. But exactly for this OP SHOULD talk to him about it. Avoiding the topic to spare his feeling might lead to miscommunication, it is way better to clear the air and ask the brother about his opinion in the matter.
Story 3: Even IF OP did agree to make pizza, without having anything prepared the first pizza is MAYBE ready for the oven (not even cooked) by the time all head home. So no, OP cannot be the jerk because it is physically impossible for him to do it in that short of a time, unless he already has the dough ready to go and has a professional pizza oven that gets extra super hot, cutting the baking time considerably.
To make pizza at a home setting you need a LOT of time and preparation beforehand.
AND: Who is even to say they have all the correct ingredients ready for him and in the correct amounts?
Man these stories especially the woman leaving for two years makes me QUAKE.

I was 22 buying my first house, and I lost it because I was giving my mother the mortgage money, and she was actually buying inventory for her "business " and actually got scammed. story 3: I mean, I'm no chef, but even if OP did agree to make pizza, how is it logistically possible to make several truly homemade pizzas for a party that is actively happening right now. I mean did they even bother to get all the ingredients OP would even need? There's prep time, proofing time for the dough, assembly time, cook time... and I'm guessing the house doesn't have a giant industrial pizza oven to cook like 5 at a time. Just wth were they even thinking?
People who arent chefs don't think or consider all the things that go into cooking like that....and don't care too. People like that who are friends or related to cook/chefs make lame requests like this all the time.... speaking from experience.

OP IS the jerk in the graduation story. His brothers graduation ceremony date was foolishly changed 3 days before it was supposed to happen, so that absolutely means all bets are off on attending. Yes it is sad for his brother, but it is not the family causing the harm here, it is whomever changed his graduation date 3 days before that have caused the harm.

For the last story, I think the narrator must be losing his marbles or something because the story quite literally explains what the brothers facial expressions were when the father was talking about the op’s graduation that means no he has not moved past it. Four year-old could’ve figured that out.

For the graduation story it was read like all the reasons the family had for not going to the moved event weren't reasonable. They totally were. I feel bad for the brother but OP's idea rubs me the wrong way.
"Work and Wedding" do not sound unreasonable to me either. If the people already adjusted their work to make it they can't last minute always switch things and around. And what going to a wedding that you agreed to go to because someone is graduation is also not unreasonable. If the family didn't feel like going that's one thing, but those were very reasonable. Also it sounds like OP just didn't want his family there and using is bro and a reason to say don't come.

I understand that depression is bad but exactly how long does it take for the blame to ship towards them for not trying to fix it or picking and choosing when they decide to try to fix themselves not trying to sound like a dick but if you been depressed and sad anddown has a effect on everyone else in the family or I guess in this case used as a reason why she abandoned her own child etc. there needs to be a fine line between what is considered acceptable and OK now you’re just using the depression as an excuse
