- Weapon disarming is a huge part integrated in Filipino Martial Arts. While we can approach this simply by using offence, we put together a few techniques to dive deeper into the art. Let's get training!

I've experienced being attacked by someone using a knife inside a bar, the first thing that comes to my mind was simply grab some chair and then thrust it powerfully towards the attacker until he hit the wall. He got knock out.
And that is one of BEST defenses to uee IF you can't run!! Gross motor skill nothing fancy, no art create a barrier between you and the knife wielder and out!!
We need more instructors teaching things like that instead of art.
Great job glad you were able to nuetralized the attacker and share!
Art is great but not reality!
Brilliant a chair is a great weapon against a knife
I was a door man and I had a broom and dustpan. my dust pan was on the bottom of an oak stick 2 inches thick four feet long. One nail was all that held it. if you got hinky at the door you got something small and i got reach.
It would be cool to call it chair defense against knife. ☯️
same bro🙂
First rule in a knife attack: create distance (run if you can) or hide behind an obstacle (like a car, a table ect..)
Second rule: arm yourself with whatever you can grab.
Third rule: use a technique but keep in mind it might not work (maybe you can earn some time and space to run away)
Forth rule: learn how to protect your vital points and where it is less deadly to get cut (for example protect your throat by covering it with your hand, so an attacker will cut your hand instead of your throat)
Stop fooling people
Someone might get killed by following you.
Running away from the attacker is the best.

@@mcanastacio :
ok
What if you are in a corner or you have trapped?? Learned
What happens if your job is to stop the threat?
Respect the blade. Running away is the priority. Blocking and repositioning yourself can be used to get you to run away. Disarming should be the last resort. Hopefully, none of us are ever in a position where we have to make these decisions.
Yep. Very effective...if the attacker is in slow motion or passively standing while waiting for you to execute whatever you want to do.
Knowing how to defend against a knife is something I wish every bjj school would teach
Nice moves. You'll get killed by doing that all. 😂 If there's a knife, run if u can. If u can't, grab something that can be your weapon.
Fancy looking defence is not gonna work in reality. Always remember that.
Wrong way
By the time you hit the eye, instinctively he pulled his hand with the knife.
Just my opinion 😉
it probably took 1-2-3-4 moves to execute the techniques... Pro: works for non-martial artist, low-thugs.. Con: if the attacker is experienced or have martial arts background, these moves are risky.
PS: Risky but not ineffective(tho there's no perfect technique). I love how the eye-jab to distract/stun the opponent, that one really works
Just try 'any kind of techniques' just 'Don't ever try to touch the knife of the source of the threat'. Try and train 'smart and so safely'. that's the priority. Greetings from Egypt!👊🔥🇪🇬🇪🇬
Medyo mahirap yan kasi lalabanan mo yung lakas ng kalaban mo. Na self def na yan medyo mahirap yan pag seryoso kasi iba iba ang lakas ng tao.
You will actually die if you try any of these disarms in real life... I hate that people are trying to pass this off as Filipino martial arts... This is an embarrassment to the actual martial arts we learned growing up in the philippines and how effective it actually is. These people are passing this off as FMA when it is complete BS. FMA was based on pure realism in the streets of the Philippines. If you have ever been in a knife fight, you know that this technique is not even close to going to work even against an amateur knife wielder with an intent to harm...
By 3:21 I had seen enough. This is LaLa Land stuff that is impractical from many stand points. First, in the first technique by the time you go for the eye jab and step-off the persons artery retracted the knife and stabbing you again. Second, on the second technique you do not know whether to double edge or not. Did not practice techniques that are so limited because people may come up with box cutters which you cannot shear out of their hand and it made be double-edged. in the second flow the hand is loose to re-stab or parry your blocking hand out of the way. Although this comes from Filipino martial arts which are generally good, I do not like to practice techniques that don't concentrated on the blade as much. I know some of he will say striking them while blocking and defending is a good technique, when life is on the line concentrate on the arm with the weapon.
Oddly enough this will not work on actual knife techniques in Filipino martial arts.....
Whoa, that's a freaky coincidence but I got to exactly 3:21 before stopping it! These techniques will only work if your attacker stabs slowly, then stands still! 😂
That's why the best knife defenses and disarms happen when you are able to successfully and realistic deflect the knife in a pressure testing situation, close the distance and control the arm and wrist or wrist and elbow that is connected to the arm and hand holding the knife and use aggressive striking until you can disorient you opponent possibly knocking him out with full body movement which should be your aim, taking him down, and further controlling the neck and arm before you disarm the knife with certain locks.
Thank you for your teaching you contribute a lot
His technique is good if the person doesnt know how to actually use an edged weapon, and stands there to let you do what you want.
oh martial arts in this time is very joke...ang lalambot tsaka d mo magagawa pinahaba mo pa yung reaction mo.. very low panu kung marunong ng flicker arts ang kalaban mo e di dedbol ka... puro nalang kayo turo ng mali.. grabe na sa panahon na to puro nalang acting ang tinuturo
Moving away to the center of the target, block/attack at the same time , disarming knife maybe useful in second attempt or more after the enemy gets hurt.. most importantly the attack should be in the face or eye to have a good advantage in second attempt.
My God don't use the word Filipino of you're just going to embaress us. This techniques is really terrible.
Just dominate the weapon, destroy the hands, or just a simple deflect and takedown. No art needed all that matters is that you can execute it effevtively.
Seff Hyugoe now I normally don’t respond to outlandish comments like this.
You don’t own the word Filipino, you are neither worthy or credible to be speaking for an entire nation.
Your attitude is the cancer of Filipino culture and FMA as a whole. Instead of empowering the thousands of systems and forms of FMA (effective or not). You hack at the roots at the tree we try to nurture.
On that note, I’ve never heard of you in the FMA circuit. If you’d like to discuss technique you are more than welcome to stop by my academy to discuss ideas or thoughts.
embarrass not “embaress” / THESE techniques not THIS techniques.
Autocorrect might save you the embarrassment. You may want to put away the TKD equipment and train with some great instructors out there. Outside of your physical education curriculum at school.. you might learn to see the value of all techniques and iterations.. From all people Filipino or not
@@mcanastacio okidoeks! Got that.
2nd technique is quite risky and difficult... not easy to apply for a common man...
Nothing will work if you don't train to set it up and preform it in a
stressful situation. (And that doesn't mean hard sparring btw.)
in real attack multiple stab will kill you.. in real life you must hit as much as possible the attacker before it hits you
Completely ignores what we almost universally see with actual knife attack footage: the attacker's leveraging arm holding onto your shirt and the knife not being thrust out in front of the attacker, rather you being pulled into the short thrusts.
Techniques are ok but the guy will pull back and stab again. You will take a few shots. It's also very hard to control someone with his wrist. It's also very hard to move out of the way in time at the first stab. The arm moves faster than the defendant. It's good that you reajust at the end of the video
All due respects sir. That take away will only work if someone tries to stab you holding a knife like an idiot and doing it at 1 mile per hour towards not really how people get stabbed or stabbed people. If you teach anything other than that if you get in a knife fight you are getting cut you are doing a disservice to everyone who sees it.
What if the opponent was good in knife ??
Thank you for sharing your video...

Nice moves.. but my experience in real street fight, wrist lock or arm or wrist catching doesnt work. The assilant is so furious and very fast you cant even see the icepick when he strikes. What i did slaping the knife away from me , fist close and slap the arm of the assilant while moving towards him till iwas able to control the arm before using any technique to disarm the assilant.. any way nice technique.. thumbs up..
It's all about distance control and timing. Train to set anything up...ANYTHING, and it will work.
I agree with the assailant is so furious that all his attacks are all like quick jabs so I for one would't suggest catching the arm. I prefer deflecting the attack then strike then......RUN :D :D :D better safe than to look cool in a street fight lol
Expectation vs reality what if the attacker react instantinously
All i want is practical knife defense direct blocking and disarming..no more long demos what if your attacker is agressive and stab you defferent derection? how you defend yourself maybe it work in demonstration on your vlog what happen in real life situation? like silent killer no more words stab you out of nowhere?
Is there any actual sparring or defense at an attack speed?
Can both these moves use in real life?
I almost caught in knife fight with drunk bystander, and my weapon of choice is courage and bluff. Since is night and dark I put my hand in my jacket, pretend and act like I have a gun and prepare what will do next. Guess what my bluff work and he drop his knife and walk away
Mali dipinsa mo brad hawakan mo? Wag tukoran.pagdating sa aktuwal mabilis ang atake.
Technique where you don't even have to get close to the enemy and it's only one step.
Bring out a gun
wala naman ganyang gumalaw na mabagal, kalokohan yan 😂😂😂
Sir mag kano bayad mag patoro dito banda sa marikina.gusto ko mag paturo
Parang di epektibo sa realidad to.. Dilikado
for the drill? did you ask the attacker?
Di b Pilipino martial art bakit pa englis englis pa.
Whats that? Hahaha.. walang kwenta. Walang arts
Art of sayonachi technique, full burst at max speed
Filipino daw..pero bat nag english ang paliwanag
a .45 pistol is a better self defense against any knife attack
Quite interesting. What about striking the inside of his forearm?
That would work as a simultaneous parry and disarm. At least, in theory.
I love fma but this video assumes that once the knife is parried all motion stops. There is way to much on the part of the guy defending, I mean he has a ton of moves for the attackers one move. Disarming has to be approached from a one move to one move perspective. The reality of this is that once you pass the knife the motion will continue and you will have to adjust to defend the high line
Speed is key with these types of movements. Remember that your opponent isn't expecting
for you to do this. If he was, then he wouldn't of even tried it.
This is not fma buddy... FMA won't defend like that.. fma will not teach that kind of defense... it's not realistic...
awesome
What if the knife is have a double blade.. i think that technique can slash the hands of defendant.
Very simple answer: don’t do the technique
To fight someone holding a knife is just stupid. Plan A is always run away and live to fight another day when you’re better prepared for a knife fight. Plan B is if the aggressor chase you then you need to run to the closest chair/stone/metalpipe and defend yourself with something that creates distance
That’s a lot of movement. I don’t know if you could do that during actual attack. However there’s a solution to that. Just make sure you carry your Big Bang and I promise you , he won’t get a chance! LOL!!!!
🤣🤣🤣😡🤔☝🏿🔥! This is one of the worth knife disarm forms I have seen too many step that leaves your opponent able to cut or stab you.. 1#)The solution is simple let the opponent attack , use both of your hands grab the arm with the knife. #2) One hand delivers a strong blow to the nose or temple.#3) the both hands return to bend the wrist taking away the knife and the threat from you ! What are your thoughts, anyone ?
Murder: Ahhahaha ill kill you
me hand a melee knife: What do you mean?
Murder:uh
Me: i have a pistol
Murder:AHHHHH
me:COME HERE
Are you sure that is pilipino tichnik
wlang kwenta paulit ulit lng.
What if the one is body builder
do that in real time , not slow
AND with a "Real butter knife at least"!
Big fan of the channel just my opinion but in real life ive used a pass maybe it was just me maybe it was them but the pass didnt work for me the capture i think fixes and i agree with the stikes but it dosent stop the threat it is hard to stike and keep the knife at bay unless u hit hard or know where to hit and and keep good tabs on the knife and other limbs and set up for this my personal opinion capture to set up outside flick knife is good ofc set up was big for me but hard to set up as they reajust to try to be in a dominit postion as I'd try to pass they quckly jerked it back got wise and keep it behind there back and away from them self made it even harder
magtagalog Po kayo paramalinaw
Retract arm nicely and goodbye technique, some times it will work more often no, because of the retract ,
slashing arm lol
Terima kasih bro ❤❤❤
Nice👍
Na loslos akoy modunggab ana potol ogat ana
Nice
Is there's any one know the sayonachi technique? Is not only good In knife fight but also in gun fight even in riot
What about a double edged blade?? You started off good. I’d use that move to transition to a wrist kimura... In a perfect world.. without knife attacks.. you know what I mean

to much talķing
Palpak..
Respect though ✊
second post!
That is not the proper way to disarm a knife attacker. A drunk attacker maybe possible, but if the attacker is fast, the best way is to hit his eyes or throat first. You are a lousy teacher.
Tangina andito ako kasi muntik na kame manakawan potanginang buhay to
Let's hope that your crazy drug addled assailant knows how to attack you with the twelve angles of attack from the filipino arts...…..Or if it's karate ask them to say Oss Jodan attack before they come at you with their over committed attack. Let's hope they are not too drunk to forget the rules of engagement
Hope is all you need! That is my ninja way.
