#5 Thank You, for a fine history report on this US Navy Tanker. I learned something. The Officers and Ratings that served on this ship were a bunch of brave men. Good Report!
I wonder if they were able to recycle that pumped oil. Back in those days crude oil was much higher purity level than nowadays so the tanker may have had some good stuff in it.
This incident was actually featured in the History Channel series Dogfights, namely the episode all about Kamakaze attacks which included a bit about the Kaiten.
My dad was a survivor; my brother and I were excellent swimmers at a very young age. Daddy was an excellent swimmer and made sure that we weee too. We heard stories about that night throughout our childhood. I know that the LORD saved his life that night. 🙏🏽🙏🇺🇸❤️✝️🚀🌴
I have a photoalbum of the uss munsee a tug boat 70 metres long it was the first ship on the scene when the missennew was going down the photos capture the ship on fire and sinking there are about 200 photos i bought the photoalbum from ebay many years ago. It would be probably worth a lot of money now some photos of the crew of the munsee are posing with the jolly roger flag it is a awesome photoalbum.
Thanks for the video! My Grandpa Joe was a survivor of this ship!

Wow...just wow. I have never really heard much of the Kaitens and their victims.
Thank you so much for watching. Indeed, there were many casualties because of this weapon. May they all rest in peace.
