      This is not a machine learning translation (there is this option in Teams as well), you should plan before the meeting which languages support in your meeting and then assign the right translator to every language.

    Hello, thank you for the video. In the set up it seems that the interpreter is configured to only one direction, in the example Nestor: English into Italian. I was wondering if is there a need of retour (Italian into English), for instance in cases of Q&A, can Nestor translate from Italian to English, or is it necessary to have another interpreter to do that?

      @@DeLucaGiulian Thanks for your answer. I haven't been able to do so. I found an explanation for it in the Internet: "Restricted interpreter access: Interpreters cannot be external Teams users. Again, this is a current limitation that may change in the future. For now, though, this makes it difficult or impossible to use external interpreters. The solution is suitable for organisations where the interpreters are employed in-house".

      @@DeLucaGiulian Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I understand it, it does not really matter. The actual answer should be "any that you have an interpreter for". If I had a meeting and I needed it to be interpreted to a language that's not in the list (say, as an example, Gibberish), all you need to do is select any language from the list, e.g. Swahili, Portugese or Samoan and have the interpreter into Gibberish interpret in that channel. Essentially, this feature splits the meeting room into several rooms/channels and it does not matter if we name the rooms by the languages, or say The Main Room and The Interpreted Room, or Room1, Room2, or Blue and Green room.
      Again, I may be wrong, but I guess some people commenting here think that if they select the option, interpreting will be provided automatically. Nope, the feature only splits the channels (a very useful feature), so that the interpreter you have in your organization can interpret the meeting simultaneously without having to resort to solutions such as a separate phone line etc.
      By the way, Giuliano, thank you for the video, it was very helpful.

    • @DeLucaGiulian
      @DeLucaGiulian  Рік тому +1

      @@TheWorldOfTomi Thanks for your feedback.
      As you mentioned you can also follow your work around however you have to tell the users to select Portuguese to get the interpreter in Gibberish, which can lead to confusions.
      Furthermore, this feature allows organizers to create just one meeting reducing the effort in creating and arranging multiple meetings, for instance you can have one meeting with 5 interpreters in.
      Here you can get more info about this feature:

      @@DeLucaGiulian Absolutely, it does make sense in a meeting that is interpreted into multiple languages. But, you know, I am a simple guy - I'd just name the channels 1, 2, 3 etc. and give the organizer the possibility to add additional comments to each, for example 1- English, 2- Mandarin Chinese, 3- Eastern Slovak, etc.
