Replacement of catalytic converter in my 2004 Toyota Celica.
I used a walker catalytic converter with the resonator, gaskets and hangers. Purchased all on amazon, Part numbers at 40sec.
Model years 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, and 05.
Always be careful when working under your car, another thing to UA-cam.
The benefit of fixing your Catalytic Converter is noticeably better gas millage!
Tools Used:
OBD2 Scanner Tool
Penetrating lube
WD-40
7/8” Open End Wrench
14mm Socket Wrench
Flat Head Screwdriver #2

My son's car is having this issue and thank you so much for this video. This is the best car work video I've ever seen!
I love that you showed the struggle. Thanks for the info!
Tony Stark working on a Celica 🤔
Dude you make some funny videos (either that or I am seriously kushed out)
I have to do the same thing next on my GTS. Your suppose to disconnect your car battery when replacing sensors or mechanical work. Besides that good video 👍🏻👍🏻
IS YOUR CALIFORNIA LEGAL CAT,
What part number is for catalyst converter for gts??
Hey, how'd it end up working? Have replaced the cat twice and I'm still getting the p0420 code. (Thought 1st one was faulty) I read somewhere they need to be OEM parts. Did they light come back on? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
If I cut the old cat out and weld a new one in will it remove my check engine light?

did you figure this out this is what im scared of
Will p420 come up if catalyst not ready? My o2s readings are normal per testing and the cat temps are also 60 degrees hotter downstream.
My cat just died today on my gts after 375k+ miles. I will be replacing it soon. Thanks for the video!

@@The420Patriot my cat (with intermediate pipe on both ends) from eBay is an aftermarket. My O2 sensors (always use OEM for Toyotas) are OEM denso I replaced as well. The aftermarket O2 sensors will only last a few days or so. I'm at 392k miles and no code ever since.
@@abuelb Thanks for the info. The muffler shop thought the 1st cat replacement was faulty, so replaced with another. Code came back on. They've checked the O2 sensors/wiring's as well. Got oil leaks fixed, there's no misfires. Car drives fine but the damn codes coming up. Already spent nearly $2k. Probably just gonna try another shop at this point.
@@The420Patriot what was the problem if I may ask? Did you fixed it?
I did everything you said and I have a gurgling sound when I accelerate. Anyone know what it could be?
bro, thanks for the video, what model of pioneer headunit is that?...it looks great in the celica

Hi, my check engine light on today . It say catalytic converter defect . But I have change it one month ago . Anyway I erase the code and check engine light gone . So my question is will it come back again. If so how long it will take to come back. Thanks
