I'm not from Newfoundland, but I love the culture there. I love that there are so many cameo appearances in this video from well known Newfoundlanders.
We're blessed to have the best the world has to offer here right on our doorsteps. It's definitely a "home worth fighting for" and it makes my heart glad to see how far we've come after literal centuries of struggle strife and hard work. There's still more work to do, but we got this.
I am from Vancouver island on the west coast of the mainland. Although i am sure things are completely different in many many ways, I still feel as if we are family in our sense of being Canadians as well as our own unique identity's. Newfoundland is a place I dream if going to often and one day I will make the venture. your music is inspirational. Your music Tells me a story of finding happiness in unity, a strength formed from all the right places. Something that no one can take away from you. Nor ,will they want too. Thank you for sharing such gifted talent and beauty .I absolutely love it. Thank you boys, thank you
u see so many older people here but im only born in 2002 and i love this band there really good i listen to alot of there songs so its aboot time they add another one
check out Stan Rogers live in Halifax, he has some great music that sounds just like this. Songs like "45 years from now" and "Barretes Privateers" are really good. In fact without watching this video i would guess it was Stan rogers his voice is so similar.
I used to do a lot of trucking across nfld...you never meet people as nice and giving as newfoundlanders....helped me out many times in my years spent driving across....Haven’t been there in years....I miss it
I live in Texas where we have some great music of our own (Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett, etc.) but I really love these guys. This video is one of my favorites ever. I hope to get to Newfoundland and hear them live one day.
I was born and raised on the island, true newfie at heart and by blood. Newfie does not offend me, I am a proud Newfoundlander! lol ) This place should be on everyone's bucket list. A very unique culture to the rest of the world!
I'm from Cape Breton but lived in Newfoundland for 5 years. Ya gotta go!! If you've never been, it's really something to experience. Love Newfoundland!!! Love this band Shanneyganock.
It will definitely change your life I'm a Newfoundlander born and bred I've been away for 12 years and came back I'll never leave again!! Hope u make it here someday I'll buy ya a drink
I was raised in Newfoundland. I still refer to myself as a newfie. Newfoundland is my home. I might be out west but I plan on returning to the Rock and retiring there
Never been to the Rock, but this is what I want to see and here when I do. He has that authentic maritime sound so reminiscent of the late Stan Rogers. Amazing.
So, I was looking for the old trad song "Home, Boys, Home" and happened upon this. I really enjoy it when I happen upon some good music randomly. Cheers, gents, and you just got a new fan. Keep up the good craic!!
Wicked job guys, ye make me very proud to be a Newfoundlander, been waiting for the video since I fist heard news and I must say, ye don't disappoint. Keep up the great work, awesome job to all hands involved!
We love what we're fighting for, home boys home... I believe the time is right, I believe we won't go wrong; Words like "can't" and "never" They won't be around for long, There's a rediscovered spirit here Of people proud and strong. 'Cause we know what we're fighting for, We believe in what we're fighting for; We love what we're fighting for, Home, boys, home! We have lived in troubled times, Five centuries and more; We could see the problems coming, Miles before they hit the shore; Now, when others take and condescend, We'll wink and nod no more. 'Cause we know what we're fighting for, We believe in what we're fighting for; We love what we're fighting for, Home, boys, home! We have made mistakes, it's true, This ain't "once upon a time"; And "happy ever after" is a long way down the line, But with poison tongues and attitudes, And sharp and clever minds. Oh, we know what we're fighting for, We believe in what we're fighting for; We love what we're fighting for, Home, boys, home! Half a million, side to side, From the big land to the bay; Join a peaceful revolution, Let's make history today; Will the "haves" we finally conquer thank, The "have-not's" in their graves? Oh, we know what we're fighting for, We believe in what we're fighting for; We love what we're fighting for, Home, boys, home! If you're near or if you're far, Facts can guard your native coast; Tell the naive patronizers the whole truth, They need it most; Just look 'em in the eye and say, Our battle cry, our toast. 'Cause it's now or it's never, We've been pulled apart forever; If we'd only pull together, Haul for home now, lend a hand! 'Cause we know what we're fighting for, We believe in what we're fighting for; We love what we're fighting for, home, boys, home! We love what we're fighting for, home, boys, home!
I left home (NFLD) at age 19, life was shit ever since, I should have stayed, and never listened to the propaganda about leaving home and how it would be good. All we did was run our home into the dirt.
We all individually for. We all have a different view of that. But we all know what we’re fighting for. And all of us together can do it. The time has come to stop the bullshit of Bayman versus Townies, the crap of islanders versus Labradorians. We islanders have to listen to out Labrador cousins. We’re different, but we’re more like each other than anything else. Let’s hear each other, and learn what all our experiences are, we’re a people, we value our differences, but we know we’re family, it’s us against the world, we weaken ourselves if we focus on small differences
Newfoundlanders need to make a bright future for themselves instead of bickering about the past, confederation might have been rigged but we now have the opportunity to do what we want for ourselves The future is bright for our people
Had a fella tell me he seen the b'ys in Alberta once said it was a wasted $25. So I questioned him, couldn't remember Chris! How do you forget a voice like this?!?! I told him he was full of shit and there was no way he even knew what was spewing outta his face! Hahaha!
do you know that per. captia nfld has the most soldiers in the canadian armed forces also do you know a quoute by winston churchill ww2 NEWFOUNDLANDERS ARE THE BEST BOAT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.goes without saying
This song has forced an Australian (who knows it all, as Aussies do) with very strong beliefs to have a long hard look at my negative thoughts re US & the use of their army

I was born in '04 and feel the exact same, couldn’t have been more lucky than to be born in Newfoundland in my opinion.

People who are not from the Rock, find it impossible to comprehend the lyrics from this song. One of the BEST songs on You Tube by far.
I'm from Halifax born and raised and I comprehend them quite well.
I'm from Germany and even I am able to comprehend them. It's not that hard if you care about more than your own country.
I'm from the West rock
