When it comes to western animation, there is no cartoon more influential than Adventure Time. Though it is fondly remembered, I find that most people don't seem to realize how important of a show this was for not just Cartoon Network, but for animation as a whole. At a time where CN was dabbling in live action programming and where the other networks weren't doing so great animation-wise, Adventure Time revitalized interest in cartoons and ended up changing the entire animation landscape by influencing the art and writing styles of its successors and by serving as a jumping off point for others in the animation industry to create their own cartoons. 32:30 I actually really liked that Finn didn’t do anything here. I remember watching it for the first time and just really feeling hopeless when seeing Finn give up. Like he said, if he was going out, everyone thinks it would be doing some heroic shit, not just quietly disappearing. I thought it was a cool idea

I just finished my adult rewatch of Adventure Time, so I'm so glad I found this video. Looking back, it's easy to see how Adventure Time wrote the book for modern cartoons.

Thinking back on adventure time reminds me of such great times as a younger kid like just typing this after watching the video I started crying which even shocked me but is so weird and really shows how adventure time is such a powerful and well written show that it can make a person cry just by reliveing memories of growing up with Finn or just being a child itself and growing up kind of like Finn and how he grows and realizing the same happened to you in some way I can barely see what I'm typing at this point but thanks for makeing this video for such a beautiful show.😢😢

Finished Distant lands not too long ago & together again wus jus...... it hit not only in the satisfaction, closure & nostalgia level it intended to but also a deep personal level for me that makes me love it more than I maybe should lol. Fionna and Cake recontextualizes Finn's actions in "Come Along With Me". Even though Finn spends most of the special trying to tell everyone to stop fighting, the choice he made to pull Simon out of Golb's stomach is what allowed Fionna and Cake to exist at all instead of getting Margled.

It’s random in the right way to be funny, with the song choice (and it being a trap version of it??), and then the fact it shits on Clarence, I fucking love that because I HATED that goddamn show so much as a kid, fuck Clarence, all my homies hate Clearence or whatever the hell his name be. I missed out on this show entirely growing up because of one joke the stupid fart joke the first episode opened on. I saw that joke and instantly assumed that a 12 year old was “too old for this stupid show” and changed the channel over to avatar on nick never watching the show until like ten years later, which I hate because the later seasons are amazing imo and I absolutely love the setting / characters. I look back wishing I could’ve let myself be less mature for a moment and grow up with this show

We can all agree that the non main characters related episodes where really good, and that the circle of life episode was on all sorts of drug addictions
Adventure time is either the number 1 or number 2 cartoon over the last 30 years the only one that can rival it is Gumball which is similar but has more of a sitcom and comedy focus gumball also does wacky humor better but adventure time does story and lore way better so it’s hard to decide which is better adventure time also had a decently larger influence not that much but it’s more than noticeable
As someone who was and still is in love with the first 4 seasons of AT (i literally think its peak) this video was hard to watch with all the hate and slander lol. But still an alright retrospective

there's a massive difference between "lol xd epic bacon" random and "dude wtf" random and i think its clear which is which
i just wanted to say goo job on the video, but in my opinion adventure time was much better when it was episodic instead of story driven. i say this because when the stories were added it became impossible to just enjoy an episode that was on tv before watching the previous ones. when it was episodic it felt a lot less constrained by what it had to do. the stories always seemed tacked on to me like an exec said we need to make all these new cartoons story driven. it happened to regular show too. my theory is because of the success of steven universe and gravity falls not sure if the timeline lines up. dylan out!
It wasn't because of the execs, it was something they were interested in doing. Execs were very ANTI story driven. They hated when SU and AT became more overarching and tried to suppress it, because it was a lot harder to advertise. They much preferred AT making miniseries like in s8 rather than having a bunch of normal connected episodes.
If you think that it was worse, then I definitely disagree, but you are entitled to that opinion. I think a lot of AT's 11 minute episodes are mini masterpieces in a way that a two parter or four parter struggles with, but all of its miniseries and larger arcs were astonishing. I think there's also something to be said about it just not being the kind of show you're into anymore, and how that is different from an actual quality decline.
@@tipsy634 Personally, I loved it all the way through. But I do actually like the story driven parts. I've seen a lot of people reacting to it who were bored of it and not as interested until it became story driven, but personally, it was always my favorite. That being said, once it became story driven it was even better for me. It was unexpected but I loved the change so much

The first half of Adventure Time (the episodic era of AT) is so underrated in my opinion, I watched the show since the beginning to end, and I really enjoyed all of it (well except the episodes after Finn lost his arm, they were too boring to me plus there were other factors I'm going to mention later); I probably still enjoy the first half because of nostalgia (the show really gave me vibes of 2000's CN shows) but I think the LA spanish dub (which I grew up with) played a huge role, the dub made the show and its characters (SPECIALLY Jake and the Ice King) have such a unique personality with an incredible humour, without it, it would not have been the same; however, after the grass sword episode, they changed the dub to make it more neutral, which sucked a lot of personality out of the show (SPECIALLY Jake, even though it was the same voice actor), this made me abandon the show, as it became too boring and different from what it used to be (and the episodes after Finn loses his arm did not help); I only came back when the lore became interesting again.
