i have questions about the 4 way joystick controller. once you throw it in a direction does it stay there? asking because i want to emulate arcade games with a shifter and if it sticks in one of 4 directions it would be good for that.
Looking at the numworks web site, they have the OS for the platform (Eclipse) on github under a Creative Commons license. Arguably not fully open source, but you CAN get the source, modify it, build your own firmware, flash it to the hardware and use it. Is it that hard to create apps for the platform, for instance, to be a fully scientific calculator? Financial calculator? Machinist/CNC calculator? Construction/contractor calculator?
Python calculator is neat. With regards to use in tests, what's to stop me from preparing a python file beforehand that has all the equations/functions I need?
Excellent question. Use approval on given standardized tests may be contingent on use of the stock firmware and flushing the memory of user defined content.

Love the idea of the Pi-Top. would be a great learning/dev setup for the pi, but ouch @ it's price :/

I think it was recently made a little easier to developer applications for the calculator
How about a Pi-top that has a copious on-board battery w/charger circuit and the ability to install a proper 2.5" hard drive (SSD or otherwise)?
Here's an idea: Raspberry Pi Model 4 with a U.2 connector in place of the USB ports.
Does the display run video, or can it?
Nice little display useful with a pi 0 and Lipo kit
You guys offer really nice products. Thanks

Ah ok. If you work there, good luck with the selling. It is a much needed improvement over the status quo.
I don't work anywhere.
you should be fine as long as your school doesn't check or clear students TI calculators
Could have used that pcb holder when I was rebuilding an ebike speed controller.
Give me at least one of it
