You have to actually type them for example ю is y+u on your keyboard

Tatyana, which letters are you looking for? Some of them, you can get through combinations: y + u = ю, y+ o= ё, y+e=э, s+c=щ, c+h =ч.

Wow! Thank you for a quick reply. I recently bought a computer with Windows 10 (vs Mac which I had before) and discovered this problem of not able to write in Russian to my friends back in Minsk because keyboard layout in Russian is missing those letters which you guessed correctly. I couldn't even write those missing letters to you!. I spent hours searching internet hoping to resolve this problem. What you have offered may be not the best solution in the world of typing but definitely a quick one and usable. Thank you again. I really appreciate your response!

I think it may be the same as combinations with shift and/or alt. Try playing with it till you find them (or maybe google the characters you are missing how to type) Idk about this but i tried it with latin symbols in physics
