I am so sad for you and Moosie. My husband and I missed our grandsons graduation because he was so weak with cancer treatment. When Paul was diagnosed the oncologist asked how long he wanted to live. Immediately Paul responded,"I have young grandchildren that I would like to see graduate high school". He suffered through four years of treatment and thought he would see at least Connor graduate. Alas! The night arrived and he just couldn't manage it. All that to say I know what it takes to fight to recognize the blessings and kept hope alive. I will be 85 in January and have worked through lots of stuff to remain independent. Prayers for you and thanks for being so inspiring 😊
Your #cosywinterblanketalong24 is perfect as I need to finish a blanket for my twin sister’s 50th birthday in January. ❤ I crocheted Sandra Paul’s Nature’s Walk blanket for our older sister’s 50th birthday in 2021 so I have to make a larger blanket for my twin sister. ❤
350 HDC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness. I've done long foundation chains like that........&.....ugh. But you're right, it gets easier after that. I love crocheting...but long chains like that are something I slog thru ! LOL I enjoyed seeing your Christmasy decorations. While watching YT today, I'm crocheting a hot pad w/a Christmas tree design in the center...white w/a green tree....then the back of the hot pad is done in solid green.. The stitch used is HHDC...Herringbone Half Double Crochet..& bobbles frame the hot pad.So cute ! It's by Daisy Farm Crafts. I made the tree one & their candy cane one a few years ago....now I'm making more. Planning in giving a couple to our nice next-door-neighbor. Happy holidays, Alie , from your "next door" birthday viewer ( April 20). Oh...love the tiny candy cane necklace!
Thank you so much for your sweet words for the Back to the 80s Socks and the vlog! I love that you are doing the blanket-along. Perfect time to get my advent minis on the needles🙂❤❤
I love your cardigan, every time you wear it I think it looks so classic and elegant. Even if you don't finish your bulky jumper by Christmas I think the colours make it perfect for all winter long. It reminds me of bear branches amongst snow and ice. I've been having a fabulous time in the strictly sock along and am looking forward to the cozy blanket along
Awesome episode,,,,,Can't wait to see UR granny wrap in homespun house yarns,,,,!!wow,,,, Love UR Swiss dot shorties,,,, Must get mine off needles,,,,Just so many Christmas socks going on,,,,!!! See u in vlogmas,,, ElaineXoxo 🏘🏡🎄
I've been making the "crochet advent baby blanket" by lucienne crochet with my advent from this year. It was so fun and easy that I've started a 2nd for some random Minis I have. It's for 24 20g Minis plus a contrast color in the middle of them. I absolutely love making it! Mine's not going to be a baby blanket though it's the perfect size for sitting on the couch.
It is difficult when your children are not as enthusiastic as you for your knitting and crochet. I was amazed last week when my daughter asked for some fingerless gloves. In fact I followed your UA-cam demo. 🎉 thank you
Love a crafty video from you! Love Phoebes giraffe and your new socks! Congratulations to all the strictly winners this time. I have at least one more pair to get in! Take care x
Hello! It's Karen from Minnesota in the USA. On the Serious lights, they do make the plug ends to fit for the USA as I ordered one, and it's perfect. Thank you so much. Love both your channels.
I have intentions to frog the scrap yarn mitre square blanket I started to re-do it with black yarn framing each square, but in the rush to pack up my house in preparation to move I haven't the foggiest where that project bag ended up! I know it is in my storage locker, but that is so stuffed full that I can't go through it. Perhaps I will look through my stash and see if I have something to make a different blanket with. Happy Holiday to you, Dan, Lillia, and Phoebe!
If you’re after a squishy but not intimidating knitted blanket, have a look at the four points blanket by Purl Soho. It’s a free pattern and I’ve been making the chunky version. A decent sized for a lap blanket or baby blanket, and very squishy, but doesn’t take forever to knit. Love the podcast! Have a lovely Christmas and new year x
Thank you for all your wonderful sharing. I love all of your makes. I also agree with you that I would much rather crochet a blanket. I might consider joining the crochet along if I finish some things that I’m doing at the moment. I have some yarn to use up. Lol by the way, did you check out TL yarn, crafts, Daphne blanket❓. it’s quite lovely. I have made three of them it uses the granny stitch made in large triangles. Really cool you can get some very interesting effects with it. Well good luck with everything. I’ll see you on your other channel. ❤
I am always excited when you put out a new podcast. So nice to sit and knit along with you. Looking forward to watching future episodes in 2024. Best wishes from Margaret of My Wonderful Knitting Life podcast!
Anything other than Granny crocheting blankets scares me Ali but I love knitting them! Lovely podcast as always, thankyou for being so encouraging and inspiring and all round lovely!
I hate knitting blankets as they take forever!!!! However, i am currently working on my 2nd Sweet Shop blanket, and i am obsessed!!! It's one of those projects you can't put down. I recommended you try it as a first knitted blanket. You'll be pleasantly surprised, i am sure 😊 xx
Lovely vlog Alli. I love the strictly socks and the blankets which I have crocheted and knitted in the past. I have been snowed under with sewing past month or 3 so haven't had much time to knit socks or blankets. BUT THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE alfter christmas. I am so going to join the strictly program when it comes round again. I always follow you on youtube. I call it little drops of delight ❤❤o
I'm sitting here with my serious light hooking with brown yarn, which I wouldn't be able to do in the past I might venture with black which I've avoided like the plague, I also got hubby one and his had it on at his computer, bit miffed as I got it for him to whittle by😂 ty gorgeous 👍
I was cross stitching on dark fabric and my light made it possible! I am impressed that your husband whittles, Dan bought me a whittling knife a few years ago and I haven't been brave enough to try it yet! xx
@@LittleDropsofWonderful 🤣🤣 I actually bought the whittle knife for me.... When I had a go on a carrot I thought, this hobby is dangerous😂 wiped it clean and wrapped it up with a packet of plasters😂 for hubby's Xmas gift three years ago. Yup stick with needles and hooks it's safer😉
I love Lebkuchen cookies too. Don't know where to find them in Qatar though 😢. Hope you and your family have a save and merry Christmas! Happy creating and see you next year!

Happy holidays Pat! I just googled those patterns and they are so pretty! Thanks for mentioning them. I need to make myself some new hot pads :) xx
There’s a giraffe in the Wonka movie, you should all go see it, it’s joyous. I’m going again on Friday 😂
I’m pretty sure the wee start of that triangle blanket could double as a bandana head wrap for Not Our Cat. Meow!
Hi Ali, thank goodness this episode wasn’t a drinking game! With every time we heard “Suzanne” we have a drink! 😂. Hahaha we’d all be sloshed! X
@SewRunKnit don’t give me ideas! Now looking up cat bandanas on Ravelry… 🐱 😄
@sharon-eh6zx haha, we should totally do that next time! 😂

Just put clay over the handle of the Clover hook you don’t like.

Everyone needs a giant crochet giraffe I think! 😄

Wonderful podcast. Loved it.
Thanks so much Elaine! 🤗
You did an amazing job and you were not ‘rubbish’ at all. Fun, bright, happy (even if a wee bit snotty🤣). Happy holidays lovely Ali (and family) 🤗🥰
🤧 Ah thank you so much! Happy holidays! xx
Treat yourself to a tulip hook. The Black and gold coes in 3.25 !!!
I might do! I have a Tulip black and gold that I am using for my other advent project and I love it!

Thank you! You too! Merry Christmas and see you in 2024 ✨
Hi Bernat blanket is wonderful, but I noticed Hobbii has Honey Bunny that looks very similar and might be less expensive shipping for you 🧶🧶🧶
Good find! I will have a little nose in Hobbycraft when I am nearby later on :) xx
Is there a way to make the habitation throw bigger?
I have never made one so I am not sure, sorry xx
I’m glad you’re feeling better. Does the light run a little hot?
I’m sitting with mine now, I’ve had it on for about 3 hours and can feel no heat from it at all, and it’s cool to touch. Hope this helps! 💡
@@LittleDropsofWonderful that helps a lot! By the way, I told Carol you mentioned podcast. She’s so appreciative.
Ps do I qualify for socks in advance 🤣🤣🤣
