Not going to lie, I’d def watch a Mia the Cat podcast 😂😂 Your advent project is lovely! I have missed seeing you every day since Vlogmas so this made my day!
OMG your Granny shawl is so beautiful. I really love the colors and they suits you so well.... And your yellow jumper as well. Defenitely love those brigths colors on you. You are my favorite podcast ! You are so natural, funny. I really feel like I'm with a Friend. I love british people. I have Lived in Egypt as an expat, ( I'm from Québec City Canada) and that's where I met so Many great british !!!! I used to think that we were Closer to french people but no ! We migth speak french un Québec, but we share a lot a lot of traditions with you !!! So Glad I Found you ! 😍😍😍
Yay! You’re visiting Norwich! Please give the city my love. Hubby has family in Norfolk/Norwich. It is indeed a beautiful city. 💞💞💞. Greetings from a hot and humid Australia
Hi Ali I'm taking part in the cosy blanket make along 24, I'm crocheting C2C s squares and sewing them together to make a blanket. Also busy knitting socks with my WITA advent yarn. Lovely podcast as always, thank you for taking the time to record them. Love Marion xxx
So lovely to see you again Ally x If you're ever north of the Dartford bridge on a Saturday, you must come visit my local yarn store. It's called All Tangled Up and we have a wonderful selection of Stylecraft and King Cole as well as a fabulous knit & natter space too 😁 I am loving your granny wrap, that is a gorgeous advent! I made one a couple of years ago using a 10g mini advent and had to add in just one row of a different yarn to finish it off lol. I always love seeing the Strictly sock-along even if I don't ever find the time to join in - as much as I love the ballroom, I just never find the time to watch any of it unless I visit my parents on the weekend. Also, I will most definitely join you for the blanket MAL as I am working on a new blanket for my husband to keep him warm in Glasgow, it's just granny squares in a chunky but I'm hoping it will be nice for him (and that I have enough of the yarn of the same type as I bought it soooo long ago when The Works stocked some Caron Pantone) Anyway all that to say that I would like to offer a giant blanket bag as a giveaway prize if possible. I have a wonderful classroom space now where I can stitch to my hearts content after school lol. Do let me know, looking forward to seeing more as always xxx
Aw Maddy that would be amazing to come and visit! You are just about a 30 minute drive from me, not even that! The prize donation would be utterly wonderful! Yes please! I shall message you via insta - THANK YOU! xx
Always nice to see someone else using Tulip hooks - they're my favourite!! Will definitely be joining in with the Cosy Blanket MAL 😊 in fact I've been working on two blankets while watching this!! x
Lovely as always! You have inspired me (and a friend) to make the granny wrap!!! I'm using my advent from Blush Yarns and loving it! Thank you for the inspiration! Bethany Xx
Great to watch while knitting my socks. I did take advantage of your discount at Serious lights. Free shipping to Alaska!!! That is unheard of usually. It arrived and I love it!!
Love all your blankets, even the madly coloured ones. I would love to make the Chromaburst blanket to use some of my worrying stash. Your new granny wrap is fabulous.
That advent shawl/blanket is so beautiful! The gradient is just stunning. Also your blue nails look really good with the yellow jumper 😍 In terms of starting to spin I would really encourage you to just go for it! I got a spinning wheel for Christmas and have been having so much fun with it since. Try just sitting down with it for 20-30 minutes with it at a time for a few days. I watched this while working on my first blanket! I am having so much fun and am very glad i decided to join in on the cosy winter blanket along (even if it's like 30 degrees celcius today)
Kept waffling on the blanket design so I just went back to the one that really caught my eye. Now I don't have the right yarn, but it's a blanket, so if I like the fabric it's making I shall just start. Thanks for the nudge!
Another fantastic episode. It's really like chatting to a friend, when watching your episodes and vlogs 😊 I'm going to EAYF on the Sunday. It would be lovely to say hi. I actually only have online knitting friends, so yarn festivals can be a little solo xx
Chromaburst !!!!! Would love it!!! I absolutely love all of your blankets!!! Love your vlogs and Mia is so precious!! We have 2 Boston Terriers and they are camera hams too!!
Ali,,that was an awesome episode,,,, Congrats to all winners,,,! Such a fun knit along,,, Might just start the sun gold pattern with some dk leftovers,,,for the cosy blanket along,,,, Also have a few others kn the go,,,! Love seeing all UR older blankets,, Your granny wrap is gorgeous,,,,wow ElaineXoxo 🏠💖❤🏡💛💛
Glad you enjoyed it Nancy! The plasterers have gone now but the people doing the house rendering have been watching this week - I will have them all converted to knitting and crochet soon 😂
Happy 2024! I found your podcasts during the pandemic-your lockdown vlogs were great. I felt like I got to know you and your family. It gave me something to look forward to--and I have been here, ever since. You never disappoint.
Lovely to see all your blankets again! Always great to see your work in progress. I’m personally intrigued by the building happening across the road so please show us what you can! Congratulations to the Strictly winners which I love to participate in every year. Thank you for all the filming you do for us - it is very much appreciated x
Great to see all the projects! My blanket for the cosy MAL might fit right in with some of your old crazy blankets but my colors are inspired by Judy's Creations in Crochet's tropical bird MAL for January which is just about every color you can imagine! 😂 I am happily using up old self-striping acrylic cakes from my stash that have been sitting forever, which I must say, could also work for the lovely Chromaburst shawl too!
Hi Ali, its so lovely seeing your wrap up videos and all the others that you produce. Its summer here in Australia, but I thought I would participate in the blanket-along by making squares. I have a two of the twelve done already, so thanks for the inspiration. I also love your triangular blanket / reading shawl from your advents and I have some special yarn that I've been saving and I think I'll get it out to make one for myself.
The Homespun advent was my absolute favorite! Your project and everyone else’s I watched .. are so beautiful!!! ♥️🧶💫. So happy I found you during vlogmas ☺️ I love all of your content, it makes me so happy 😁
Thanks for sharing all the blankets. I have recently gotten into crochet after 35 years of knitting. My granddaughters all expect a blanket. lol. The Chromaburst Shaw is lovely. Now I need to learn to crochet shawls
The fade out is gorgeous. Great video, love the updates on your projects. Definitely recommend Serious Readers lamps, treated myself with your offer and I love it x
Enjoyed this episode whilst crocheting a waffle stitch blanket for my third granddaughter due in February. The chromaburst looks interesting, nice to see this effect in crochet as well as knitting. I do have the Sweetshop pattern ready to do my first knitted blanket. xx
Happy new year! I really enjoyed watching your vlogmas episodes on your other channel. You have such a beautiful family. Love how your projects are coming along. The chromaburst shawl looks really cool.
Oh sweet Ali! You are just absolutely the best❤ Thank you so much for your kind words and for having our pattern as a price🤗 Karin’s channel Strik og Romantik means Knit and Romance because she loves to knit and listen to romance novels while doing so🤩 Great big hugs to you😍
Thank YOU for the prize pattern - I SO loved your vlogmas, I have just two more to watch and I am finished but I don't want to finish...maybe I will just watch again 😅 x
@@LittleDropsofWonderful Thank you! I truly feel it has been such a gift to get to chat a bit more with you throughout this December and I hope to continue to do so😊 When you hear back from the winners just let me know and I’ll send the pattern. Thank you❤️❤️
Happy new year Ali!!! Love when I see a hour long podcast from you pop up in my notifications!! 🎉 love all your blankets!! I’d love to be in with a chance of winning the chromaburst blanket too! X
Hi Ali, being next door to a Golden Retriever that barks must be really annoying! We have a Goldie and they’re a gorgeous breed but they’re also the loudest! The Guinness World Record for loudest dog bark is apparently held by a Golden 😅
Your advent wrap is amazing!! You have made several lovely blankets!! Such a nice way to start off the New Year. I’m knitting a blanket this year. It’s a monthly subscription from my LYS and it’s a way to learn new stitches each month. #BlanketofKnowledge2023 🧶💖🧶
A great crochet pattern that I have made several times is , Rainbow Ripple Baby Blanket. It’s a free pattern on Ravelry by Celeste Young. The pattern can be made larger very simply, definitely my go to blanket for gifts. Happy New Year 🎊 🎉
Oh all the blankets! I have a few lurking about like that! I am booked for EAYF now too - I’ll be there on the Saturday with a couple of friends be good to say Hi again. I’ve signed up for Suzanne’s blanket club so I just need to decide on a pattern now but I’m thinking of the Victorian lattice square.
I had an absolutely atrocious december (which unfortunately isn't uncommon for me) so honesltly, i'm glad it's January lol! January is a hard month but I like getting back into a regular routine. Also I LOVE the homespun house crochet triangle wrap/blanket. So so beautiful. I think crochet looks amazing in hand dyed yarn and this is the perfect example of that. It looks like a water color, glass pane effect. How stunning!
Thank you so much for the mention and picture share of my grannies in a row socks. Well done to the sockalong winners. Thanks for the your of your beautiful blankets and memories. Happy New Year.
Loved seeing all of the blankets you've made! I'm going to the East Anglia yarn festival for the first time this year (I'm bringing my husband Joe along too). We're going to make a weekend of it as we live in South Yorkshire, so it's a bit far for a day trip! I'm very excited too as I managed to get a ticket to the big stitch night as well!
Happy new year! I must say, I wouldn’t mind you adding a Mia segment to every episode 🐱. Your Homespun House fade wrap is amazing! It glows like a Tiffany lamp!! And the Vira shawl is so elegant. So inspired by all your blankets. That’s it! I must learn to crochet in 2024! Maybe with the Chromaburst?
Happy New Year Ali & family!! What, what a busy Christmas holiday we had. Hope yours was wonderful. Thanks for the shoutout. Everyone in your community is so lovely and I'd like to get to know them all too.
Your advent fade turned out sooo perfect! It's gorgeous! Also- my husband got me a Serious Readers light for xmas!!! I absolutely love it. Thank you for the recommendation. It's wonderful!😃
I now want to make all the blankets again. 😂. I’m trying to finish the coronation keepsake blanket from last year. I really want to finish it. It’s over 50 per cent done so I can’t join in officially 😂 must not start another 😂. Chromacast is a lovely pattern. Xx
Hi Ali. I looked at the Granny Wrap pattern over the holidays. I wanted to make one as written for myself. I showed the pattern to my cousin and she wanted one. I purchased the yarn and made hers first. It is HUGE even though I left off the last two rows. I decided I didn’t want one for myself, as written. I may start one using an advent calendar of yarn from 2021 or my leftover fingering weight yarn. Thanks for the inspiration.
I just started the sweet shop blanket using the code given by Laura Penrose. Halfway through the 2nd square and loving it so far. It’s in acrylic from stash for my son so he won’t have to worry about looking after it.
I enjoyed seeing all your blankets. Blankets are one of my favorite things to make. The Chromaburst shawl looks fun. I had the Sweet Shop blanket on my wish list so will definitely be using the code. 🧶😁
I am so going to check out all the things you mentioned Ali.. thank you so much for the info. I would love to win the chromaburst pattern prize ! Thank you so much for the opportunity..x
Hi, Ali. Great video to start the new year off with, that shawl just wowed me, those colors and stitch pattern. You showed so much I can't comment on it all. But what you shown was as you say "little drops of wonderfull" your podcast came up and I felt, oh alright! I had to watch, your content and personality make knitting and crochet arts fun. Have a great new year. 😊see you on the tube. 😊😊
Happy New Year. Really looking forward to EAYF this year am planning on going on the Saturday (already have my ticket). Saying that I need to have a destash before I go as need clear some space for new yarn, have learnt my lesson for buying single skeins or being in a yarn club. So many skeins that I’m never going to use. You’ve shamed me into picking up my ugly granny square blanket (aka sock leftovers blanket), as really would like to finish it before I tackle an advent granny wrap.
Ali! These blankets are amazing! I have made so many over the years as well and I still have my favorites as do my kids! I love the groovyghan! Another brilliantly colorful pattern is the 5th Dimension Blanket by Susan Carlson, just in case you need more psychedelic in your life! 😂 And Mia is wonderful! I had a cat once that had two homes. During the day while we were gone she'd venture a couple blocks over in the neighborhood to her daytime family, and in the evening she would come back to us for the night.
Would love to see you both at EAYF, gutted I missed you last time. I too have so much pretty sock yarn and just don’t make enough socks so looking at worth 1 skein projects and also doing more weaving with them
I have 2 baby blankets to make this year. Started one in moss stitch and I'll have to check out the Chromablast to see if I can use it for the other one. Love the Drippity Drop socks might have a go at them once I've looked at Greenlambkin yarn as your advent from there was wonderful
That was a lot of fun, thank you! I really love that jumper you're wearing. Also, massive Christmas sock yarn envy. Have you ever knit the Heel-Toe-Doh-Si-Doh sock by Crazy Sock Lady? I'm wearing a pair now and every time I wear them I think I really must make another pair they're so lovely.
Thank you! The jumper is the Ranunculus, I completely forgot to mention it! I haven't knit those socks but I have just looked them up and they're lovely, I can think of a few skeins of yarn in my stash that would look lovely in that pattern - thanks! x
Happy New Year. The blanket MAL is exciting. I made 15 large blankets for my children and grandchildren and 10 baby blankets for donation to the needy in 2023. I'm already partially through 2 more and looking for the next project. The chromablast would be a welcome change. Thanks for all your videos.
Hello Ali i wish you also a very happy and healthy and a good 2024! And also for the family I wishes it to and that all the things you wish come out for the year!!🎉 I have enjoyed the vlog and all the beautiful projects that came by 😍 I like the advend shawl that you are now working on and i love the colors in the fade😍😍 I have now the feeling that i have been missing the beautiful adventskalender from the a home spun house sadly i have seen for the first time by you and so i have it maybe for the next advents time now bying it because it is so beautiful 😍 The donation from the beautiful shawl that came by is also lovely and i would like to win it so i gave the password : chromaburst for it and i hope that i win it.😃 I wish you a nice evening and i hope to see you soon again.😘👋🏻
Happy New Year! Love all your WIPs especially your advent triangle shawl/blanket. Your sunny yellow jumper made my day. Cheers from a cold Canadian (-29C with the wind chill this morning). Chromaburst would definitely be a great stash buster .
Ally love your podcast. My wips are just 2 a cardigan for my husband and finishing off a Tunisian cal from 2023. I have taken on a new hobby 😳 trying making my own yarn with a drop spindle (must be mad) wish me luck. Happy New Year 🥳
I've just started my second Night Shift by Andrea Mowry. Did the first one in 22. I make mine in sports weight yarn because I like it lighter, living in NSW Australia I don't need the think wooly ones.
Your advent shawl is absolutely stunning. I think I have to make myself one 😍. I’ve seen several knit shawls that are similar to the Chromaburst shawl & I’ve loved them all but I never learned to knit, only crochet. I am definitely going to check it some more. I love your channel 💐
Great episode Ali, you’ve made some fabulous blankets. I always cringe at the thought of the cost when blankets are made in anything other than acrylic but I am sure those made with wool feel completely different. Always looking forward to your next vlog/ podcast on either channel. Wish I could meet up at the yarn festival but it’s a long way from 🇨🇦🤣. 🤗
Hi Ali. Your Granny wrap is gorgeous. You said you have started the new project with a half double crochet chain. Would you be able to show us how you do this? I hate crocheting into a normal chain, especially when you have to do hundreds. I am a newish crocheter and I didn't realize there was any other way of doing it. I would be really grateful. I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't know about it. Love to Dan and the girls.
Thanks Karen! I used this tutorial for the foundation double crochet: ua-cam.com/video/_VD4vkQMMfo/v-deo.html - but there are loads out there! I find it much easier than working into a foundation chain, and it's easier to count your stitches in that first row too! You'll love it. You can also do foundation single crochet as well :) x
The Homespun house Advent set is beautiful! Love that fade of colours. Interesting info. I live in Ontario Canada - in small city named Chatham which is in the county of Kent. Don’t often make blankets but that Chromaburst pattern appeals to me.
@@LittleDropsofWonderful forgot to add that the Thames River runs right though town. You can see the heavy British influence here (London is an hour up river from here) despite being surrounded by little French communities!
Happy New Year, Ali! Wonderful to see all your old blankets. I'm crocheting on a lovely blanket, which is almost finished, so I can't join your make-along.

Not going to lie, I’d def watch a Mia the Cat podcast 😂😂 Your advent project is lovely! I have missed seeing you every day since Vlogmas so this made my day!
Same! Mia’s Wunderful Life perhaps…
Hahaha! It would go like this: wash, sit on Ali's laptop, sleep for 6 hours, wash, meow at people, go home to eat, come back around 8pm, sleep... 😹
I would too😂
Always enjoy an extra long brother with you - especially when it includes the phrase ‘hold my trowel’ 😂

That Advent Fade is GLORIOUS!!!!!! Stunningly Beautiful, Ali! 💖💕💖💕💖💕
Love that yellow sweater on you. The Chromaburst looks like it would be nice and snuggly.
The Chromaburst shawl look squishy and fun to crochet. Your advent shawl is gorgeous.
Ooh that Chromaburst shawl looks lovely - I love a crochet advent pattern!

Also I LOVE the homespun house crochet triangle wrap/blanket. So so beautiful. I think crochet looks amazing in hand dyed yarn and this is the perfect example of that. It looks like a water color, glass pane effect. How stunning!
Oh Lisa I am sorry to hear this! Glad you are enjoying getting back to a regular routine in January now xx
Thank you so much for the mention and picture share of my grannies in a row socks. Well done to the sockalong winners. Thanks for the your of your beautiful blankets and memories. Happy New Year.
Thanks for letting me share Tanya! xx
All the blankets you’ve made over the years are lovely and I definitely think the one you made for Dan you should use as a car blanket. 😊
Oh yay, hopefully we will bump into you there! x
I love your makes! The tulip blanket was a favorite today. ❤
What a fabulous gift! The gift of light for working with dark yarns or tiny stitches whenever you like! 🤗 Thanks Janet x
I now want to make all the blankets again. 😂. I’m trying to finish the coronation keepsake blanket from last year. I really want to finish it. It’s over 50 per cent done so I can’t join in officially 😂 must not start another 😂. Chromacast is a lovely pattern. Xx
Love all the blankets- even the bright ones.
The chromaburst shawl is lovely and maybe what I've been looking for as a scrap project.
I LOVE your star blanket in those colors, how beautiful and it seems to glow! All your blankets are nice but that one is my fav.
Sounds wonderful! It's a lovely looking pattern 🤗
OMG that Cromaburst shawl looks beautiful
Aw 🥰 Thank you for this lovely comment - happy new year! x
Thanks for great videos. Love seeing all the things you made. Everything is beautiful
Happy new year! Hopefully see you at EAYF! I have the same single skeins problem - so many of them! x
Aw that's so sweet - cats are so funny! We feel lucky to have been selected as her daytime minions 😂 xx
Great idea for me babe and I don't know what I am doing. I'm going through the process of moving to North Korea.
Aawww Mia is such a sweet cat 🐈 Loved all the blankets from the past , the bright ones are my favorite 😍
Would love to see you both at EAYF, gutted I missed you last time. I too have so much pretty sock yarn and just don’t make enough socks so looking at worth 1 skein projects and also doing more weaving with them
I hope to bump into you Sammy! I am hoping to wheedle my way into helping at Emma Eldenwood Craft's stall at some point 😄 If she lets me!
I have 2 baby blankets to make this year. Started one in moss stitch and I'll have to check out the Chromablast to see if I can use it for the other one. Love the Drippity Drop socks might have a go at them once I've looked at Greenlambkin yarn as your advent from there was wonderful
Happy new year.
I haven't knit those socks but I have just looked them up and they're lovely, I can think of a few skeins of yarn in my stash that would look lovely in that pattern - thanks! x
Your nails go with the ribbing on your socks Ali…… both fabulous. Happy New Year to you and the family and everyone ❤️
Thank you Wendy! Happy new year....Gelukkig nieuwjaar?? to you! Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed your cup of tea and crochet :) xx
That is an impressive amount of blankets Natalie!!
Hello Ali i wish you also a very happy and healthy and a good 2024! And also for the family I wishes it to and that all the things you wish come out for the year!!🎉
I have enjoyed the vlog and all the beautiful projects that came by 😍
I like the advend shawl that you are now working on and i love the colors in the fade😍😍
I have now the feeling that i have been missing the beautiful adventskalender from the a home spun house sadly i have seen for the first time by you and so i have it maybe for the next advents time now bying it because it is so beautiful 😍
The donation from the beautiful shawl that came by is also lovely and i would like to win it so i gave the password : chromaburst for it and i hope that i win it.😃
I wish you a nice evening and i hope to see you soon again.😘👋🏻
Happy New Year! Love all your WIPs especially your advent triangle shawl/blanket. Your sunny yellow jumper made my day. Cheers from a cold Canadian (-29C with the wind chill this morning).
Chromaburst would definitely be a great stash buster .
I love seeing Mia. I love the chromaburst pattern
Thank you.
Ally love your podcast. My wips are just 2 a cardigan for my husband and finishing off a Tunisian cal from 2023. I have taken on a new hobby 😳 trying making my own yarn with a drop spindle (must be mad) wish me luck. Happy New Year 🥳
I love a bit of drop spindling - have fun! Happy new year to you too xx
Your advent wrap is so beautiful! Whenever I see your large shawls I want to make one too. Does Mia ever eat at your house?
I've just started my second Night Shift by Andrea Mowry. Did the first one in 22. I make mine in sports weight yarn because I like it lighter, living in NSW Australia I don't need the think wooly ones.
Your advent shawl is absolutely stunning. I think I have to make myself one 😍. I’ve seen several knit shawls that are similar to the Chromaburst shawl & I’ve loved them all but I never learned to knit, only crochet. I am definitely going to check it some more. I love your channel 💐
Thank you so much! I am so happy you enjoy my videos 🤗 I can recommend the granny wrap - it is such a fun and relaxing make x
Such a cozy blanket addition ❤
@@LittleDropsofWonderful Thanks Ali. I will try the tutorial.
The Homespun house Advent set is beautiful! Love that fade of colours.
Interesting info. I live in Ontario Canada - in small city named Chatham which is in the county of Kent.
Don’t often make blankets but that Chromaburst pattern appeals to me.
That is interesting! We have Chatham in Kent too! We used to go to Chatham Dockyard a lot when the kids were younger :) x
Loved seeing your blankets, lots of great ideas. Am off to check out the Chromaburst pattern.
See you at EAYF!
Oh yes please go and have a look when “ across the road” has finished and then tell all 🤭
Lovely to see you again you have been missed since your daily vog. Happy New Year to you and the family
Always love watching! You give me such inspiration and always have the best attitude❤. Doing a Chromaburst anything would be great for this year.
