Which club should I visit next?
arsenal
HSV in Germany
KRC Genk I would say they are my favourite Belgium team
Sheriff
Man united or fernansvaros from Hungary. Their ultras are insane
German football is the go-to game for any neutral. Beers, Bratwursts, electric atmosphere and community spirit.
This, luckily I’m an FC Bayern fan and got to see them in Munich but I sat next to a couple from Denver visiting for Oktoberfest and they had the time of their lives. The tickets are cheap because Bundesliga/German rules dont let you make the game only for the rich, the food and beer is also extremely cheap. It was amazing and the people were so friendly. I also saw a game at the Cruijff Arena to watch Ajax that was great as well.
Are you am McLaren fan?
@@CenterViral Aston Martin 🤩🤩🤩
I wish game in the uk were cheaper it’s like 60quid for a premier league game

The fact that Union Berlin got promoted for the first time every two years ago and are playing in Europe is just insane
Beauty of football friend !
I think they’ll become the new Leipzig
@@corydawodu. No they won't, Union Berlin's position was cause of consistency, they don't have the squad to keep that up every season or the funds to really improve the players, Leipzig are many times richer
@@corydawodu.Leipzig runs on Red Bull money, while Union is a small local (atm) club which uses help of its own fans.
In 5-10 years Union should be much more popular.
@@corydawodu. u dont know what a insult that in berlin is :D
It isnt their first european match, they started in the UEFA Cup around 20 years ago because they have been german cup finalists. But great video!

To be fair, u didn’t experience the real Union atmosphere, seems like u gotta come back to the Alte Försterei❤️❤️
Love from Berlin, keep up the good work❤️
I love your atmosphere in the Alte Försterei ❤❤
Theire stadiums isn't to small, the Problem is they got no seats in the stadium everyone is standing and in EU leauge or CL u have to make the whole stadium with seats
I think they'll probably play at the Olympiastadion or a few other Berlin grounds
Tja, das hätten sie dann auch mal machen müssen. Haben doch so tolle Fans, die immer anpacken.
Stattdessen ab ins Olympiastadion.
Clowns.
Union is a very unique club, because fans donated their own blood, to keep the club alive
As an English man went to a random koln game in the bundesliga, it was 1-1 against frankfurt and was 10× as better as alot of English games I've been to.
It’s because they’re to strict over here in England. Not aloud to stand in most grounds, not aloud pints at you’re seat. Flares etc are banned. They’ve sucked the heart and soul out of the atmosphere here
@@lewisparker7598 flares aren’t allowed in Germany 🤷🏻♂️

Yeah, disrespect. Every true Berliner know how fake this "culture" is.
The one thing I always love is when you see older individuals (like in the background of this video) being a part of the atmosphere whether it be singing, bouncing, etc. You really never see that in the states. I absolutely love it when you get a variety of all generations coming together to support their club
Hope we draw Union as a KAA Gent fan, would be an incredible awayday without a doubt. And 2 good games of football too imo.
Union‘s stadium isn‘t too small. It just hasn’t got enough seats. It’s a typical German stadium with lots of standing areas, which is forbidden in European Competitions
And nobody really knows why standing is forbidden
@@lebenslangeisernunion9978 actually we do know😅 it has to do with the accident at Hillsborough
You could take a look at the Helsinki derby. The atmisphere is pretty good.

Greetings from Finland🇫🇮 Both of of the team had to play their homegame away from home. KUPS also played in olympicstadium becuse their stadium didnt have the quality
At First: Unions Stadium is Not to small, it hasn't enough seats to sit (UEFA regulation)
Second: hertha plays in the olympic Stadium, but they have to rent this stadium everytime, because the owner is not hertha, its the goverment of Berlin
The Union stadium barely has any seats for sitting - normally everyone just stands the whole game. I'm pretty sure sitting in their rival's stadium was the lsat thing they would want to do for a 'home' game xD
Fantastic video, really enjoyed that Theo.
I first became aware of Union on my first visit to Berlin in 2013 and I've followed their fortunes ever since.
It's been fantastic watching their rise into Bundesliga. 1 and now into European matches.
Up to now it's just been via match alerts and youtube (one of the highlights being the open top BOAT along the river, if I remember correctly to celebrate promotion to the Bundesliga .1)
Definitely hope to get to a game at some stage. Although their continuing success might make that a bit more difficult than in the old days, it's a good problem to have.
Berlin is a brilliant city anyway but to combine it with a Union game would make it perfect. U.N.V.E.U
Again Theo, totally brilliant, travel home safely,Thogdad has said that Montenegro is on the red list for travel. Be careful and stay safe xx
I was at the first game in Finland and to that game no away fans was allowed so the 400 German that was at that game had all bought tickets in Finnish names. That is some dedicated fans!!
You should go to Atlanta United games. At the Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta Georgia
The Olympic Stadium does not belong to us, we are only tenants. That is why we also want to build our own pure football stadium! Berlin is and will remain 🔵⚪! #HaHoHe
🙄
Union have such a great Fanbase it’s amazing
Actually pretty cool that this situation happened in Berlin out of all cities. Playing at a rival's stadium from other part of a city is something that wasn't possible here for many decades. Amazing unity!
Its because hertha is not the owner of the olympic Stadium, hertha pay rent to the city Berlin. So everybody can rent this object
What an amazing atmosphere!
*2nd Euro stint (since reunification). They were the first (and maybe only) 3rd division side to make Euro qualifiers after losing to Schalke in DFB Pokal final in 2000. Really enjoyed the video, love this club, hope you got a sense of what supporting a club that exists for its fans and members feels like.
Keep up the great work man 👍✊
Big up the conference league
Union actually played Europe before, the last time was in 2001/2002.
Not even watched it but know it is going to be a banger
As a german i like to look this video. I think the passion and feeling is touchable. Maybe you can go to other proper east german clubs stadiums like Dresden or Rostock, the atmoshere there is unbelievible.
That energy is crazy

This is why I love living in Germany
fcking love it
You will never see this type of support in England i don’t care what anyone says 👍🏽
I was born is Berlin and I really love football but moved to New Zealand and appreciate that you go to German football games. Thx

I love the fact that you as an English man create more qualitative vlogs about German football than German stadium vlogers
English fans don't know how to make a good atmosphere
Thogsis needs to stare into our souls more
To be fair, it was NOT the first ever european game of Union. After winning the east-german cup in 1968, only cold war politics withheld them from taking part in UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. In 2001, they lost the final of DFB-Pokal to Schalke 04, but finishing second meant taking part in UEFA Cup since the winner Schalke was already qualified for the Champions League. At that time, they were the first ever 3rd division club in germany, that qualified for a European competition. So in fall of 2001, Union succesfully contested in the first round of UEFA Cup winning against Finnish team Haka Valkeakoski. In the second round, they lost against Bulgarian team Litex Lovetch. Somehow it feels like a funny coincidence that twenty years later, they had to play against a finnish team again in the UECL playoffs.
haha i hope you felt it
الألمان رقم واحد في كل شئ
They are number 1 in everthing all my respect german's
Union Berlin’s first time in Europe since 2001
Just to clarify:
1. Union played European football in 2002!
2. The Olympiastadion ISN’T Hertha BSC ground!!! The stadium belongs to the city and Hertha BSC rent it like Union Berlin does it now.
I stayed up and happy I'm watching this
Its not first european match! They have played two UEFA CUP games!!
I would have hoped For KuPS to go and win because im Finnish but great video
Union won the first leg 4-0, KuPS would have needed a miracle….
@@EisernRob i know
Union is not Berlin........ Union is Köpenick and Hertha is Berlin!!!!!!!!!
Cap
You have to go to Malmö for a champions league night. You won’t regret it
Union already played in a European Cup, back in 2001.
They played FC Haka Valkeakoski (went on to next round) but were elimanted by Litex Lovech.
Can you seriously not drink at sports in England? That’s so bizarre.
For football matches, you can buy a beer (if you are a home supporter) before the match and at half time in the concourse areas. But not during the match or at your seat.
Cricket and Rugby you can drink alcohol at your seat throughout the game.
Berlin is my favourite city to visit in Germany although my favourite team to travel over to watch is Eintracht Frankfurt.
Union Berlin or if you're a FIFA commentator Onion Berlin
like depends where you gonna be if it's in Germany right now I think Rostock and Mannheim's duo offer support during the pandemic and they always are a good bet. Nice to see when the situation clears up and the most fan groups start support again Frankfurt, Kaiserslautern, Dresden, Magdeburg is always a no-brainer but right now, for example, Frankfurt the active supporters are protesting the regulation and don't offer support ... if you only stay around berlin check the lower tier teams they have a lot of them like Babelsberg, BFC, Chemi Leipzig and lok Leipzig, dynamo, etc if it is Europe-wide go to Thessaloniki Besiktas in Italy Bergamo and Napels. dutch is Rotterdam, etc you get the idea...anyway injoy the trip I look forward to the next video.
3:39 min The german guy ask the other german guy in englisch hahah he was so confused
Your videos are good but this isn’t Union Berlin’s first European match, so the title is a bit misleading
Union Berlin have played in the Europa league before…
They played 2001/2002 in the UEFA-CUP, they qualifiyed by reaching the DFB-Pokal final, which they lost.
Those are not they're first international matches to be exact.
Great video. Feel welcome to join us in Alte Försterei :)
Watchout with drones in germany, not always that easy

You putting in this time to make these vids and all the money is unbelievable ur doing great thogden 😁👍
0:13 Wrong. In 2001/02 we were in the Europa Leauge. Because we were in the Final of the German Cup (DFB-Pokal) against FC Schalke 04, we lost 2-0 but because Schalke was qualified in the Champions League as Bundesliga Runner-up, we get the place in EL. We get into the 2.nd Round and go out of the Cup. Greetings from a Union fan!
