      It being upside-down was an accident. I didn't feel like editing it.

    I have the Primal 2, they are perfect for the summer. Super light and minimal, lots of mesh so your feet keep cool. I'm going to pick up the waterproof Boulders for winter

    I wear the 9 to 5s with my dress clothes and tirs 5 days a week. The Mariner is my favorite boat shoe. I was pretty upset when they discontinued them. I bought a pair a size too hig just have them as backup for when my 1st pair fail. Could be ten years since I usually wear them on weekends maybe 5 months of the year on the boat...but I do love them.

    Hi. I've just discovered Lem's and have a pair of the Primal 2 on order. Curious if you ever got the Mesa or the Trailheads broken in to comfortable levels. I too have freakish hobbit feet and struggle to find shoes I love that don't make me want to die.

    I also have a wide foot. Would you say the Mesa is better for a wider foot? Would you suggest ordering a 1/2 larger than normal?

    • @ArthurPope
      @ArthurPope  2 роки тому

      They are pretty true to size. I'd start with what they recommend by measuring your feet. Pretty sure they offer free exchanges, if that size doesn't work out.

    Hey - any update on the Mesas? I just bought some for my husband with also "aggressively wide" feet :) and he is worried about the width but he loves the shoe. Did they end up loosening for you?

    • @ArthurPope

      They did a bit, and are now super comfortable for me. Took a couple days. But that's just my feet.

    I’ve been looking all over the net for the shoes you have on your feet, where did you get those?

      This color might be out of stock. They did a limited run with these colors.

    Do your toes touch the ends of any of your shoes? When I tried on the boulder boot my toes touched the ends and the lady working there told me that's normal for barefoot. When I went a size up, the whole shoe was too loose on every part .

    • @ArthurPope
      @ArthurPope  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry! I must have missed this. Yes, sometimes they do. But not all models. The thickness of your socks can also make a bigger difference than you might expect. I've tried liners, thicker socks, and toe socks, and the results vary from shoe to shoe for me.

    between the messa and the trailheads, which one feels more supportive/stable (i have flat feet that tend to overpronate a little)

    • @ArthurPope
      @ArthurPope  3 роки тому +3

      They are very very similar. They have the exact same sole. The Mesas are a little bit more flexible than the trailheads just because they have more mesh on the uppers. Support-wise I'd give the Trailheads a slight edge over the Mesas, but not by much.

    So would the Mesa would be more of a transitional shoe for someone who has never wore minimalist shoes?

    • @ArthurPope
      @ArthurPope  2 роки тому +1

      Hard to say, because everyone has a different experience, but I would recommend Lems in general if you're new to it, because their soles tend to be slightly thicker than many other brands, but still give you decent "ground feel." I'm not a barefoot shoe purist, but I wear them as often as I can. I actually have to wear work provided shoes for my new job, which is a bummer. The Mesas are super comfortable for my feet.

      Look at their site fairly carefully. The primus 2 is the widest. The Boulder boot, the chillum, and the chukka are slightly narrower and Lems recommends going a half size up on those shoes compared to the primus. They do have a guide for measuring your feet. I have lots of foot issues and have almost always worn shoes with a lot of support and motion control. Decided to try a pair of primus just for the heck of it. Loved them around the house but didn't think I could ever wear them for more than just light indoor use. First time on gravel it was kind of a "how can anyone use these on a daily basis" experience. I've been wearing the Primus a lot. Got some Naboso insoles and have used correct toes. I have increasingly adapted to the Primus and feel they have improved and strengthened my feet and ankles. The Boulder boot and Chillum look like pretty good options to try as a first minimalist shoe. They have a bit more sole thickness and cushion and are bit more conventional. Give yourself time to adapt.

    Do you think the Mesa and Traihead would be to wide for a narrow foot, which often makes finding shoes more difficult than a wide foot?

    • @ArthurPope
      @ArthurPope  4 місяці тому +1

      Yeah, if your trying to find narrow shoes, none of these are it. All these are wider than standard.

    Have you had any problems in the Mesa with the plastic in the heel breaking?

    • @ArthurPope
      @ArthurPope  2 роки тому +1

      I haven't had that issue myself. The mesh has started to wear a bit, but I've had them long enough that general wear is to be expected.
