Just buy The Art of Cursive Penmanship by Michael Sull. Or look up Michael Sull writing at the 2016 Colorado Pen show and copy how he holds the oblique holder to a Lamy Safari.

This is quite nice. Closer to Palmer Method, but I think this is pretty similar to the penmanship programs taught by Michael Sull. The beautiful rhythm of the writing was captured well here.

What beauty and elegance! I own exactly the same pen, and also have Soviet, Chinese, and German pens in my collection. I also use dip pens from time to time I especially like to use the Soviet "Zvezdochka" nib, which is very soft and responsive, so you can practice calligraphy with it.❤ Hello from Russia, best regards!

I am just starting my calligraphy journey. This video? Stunning!!! That pen!? Gorgeous!! Just kind of sad that Mont Blanc pens start at $600. I’ll just have to buy the ink and be happy with that 😅

don’t bother with the Mont Blanc, Pilot’s FA nibs is where it’s at. Having non-stop feed issues with mine, and doesn’t seem like I’m the only one

How would you describe the nib's flex?
Semi flexible. Would only use for embellishing classic Spencerian capital letters. Even though it was shown you could clearly use it for traditional copperplate, you're much better off using an oblique holder and dip nib for dedicated pointed penmanship. The nib bounce is mostly geared toward giving the writer a pleasurable experience in their handwriting sessions. If you're absolutely dead set on using fountain pens for calligraphy, consider stub nibs for italic script. Beautiful, simple, and won't set you down a path for inevitable carpal tunnel lol. There are few exceptions like the desiderata pen company. Those are the real deal great for short projects on the go. Look up a demonstration by Schin Open Ink Stand and Calligraphy here on UA-cam. She's pretty amazing trained as a madarasz script calligrapher. I've gone on a bit too long. Have fun shopping.

No it's not hard it is work which takes time make perfect letters even when I was begginer it was a little bit tough for me but now I am An professional calligrapher it's easy for me
This is pretty easy once you get the hang of using your fingers for letters and the wrist for spacing. The Art of Cursive Penmanship will teach you how to write exactly like this. Or you can visit Iampeth for some free instruction manuals. They're kind of mind numbing though. That's why I like the modern one.

Who else does this happen to? When you watch someone putting too much pressure or turning the nib in the wrong way, it makes you a nervous wreck!!!! Yep, me!

It's an 18k gold semi flexible nib.

@@IrynaBoehland Writes like an extra fine but can ve flexed out to a double broad. Gourmet Pens has a good writing sample in her video. She's goofy but I like her personality a lot. Always gets her point across well.

What kind of paper is the one you take from a plastic, the one very thick?
Since youre well experienced I wont question why you chose such course paper aside from this being an oddly satisfying ASMR video presentation.
It makes me worry about the nib....
Any true calligrapher will replace nibs anyway. They don’t last forever. I’ve been through a lot in my time.
The weight of the paper is heavier so it can handle ink better.
I don’t know how to explain paper weight, but it’s more heavy-duty.

Beautiful. Is the writing experience scratchy or smooth? By logic flex nib will not be as smooth as a stub or broad but it seems super scratchy and unpleasant based on the audio. Then again the camera is closer to the paper as well.
XF (if that's what this is) nibs are scratchier, but the first sets of paper were exceptionally rough to begin with. I don't think anything smaller than a B would have written smoothly on them.
Im kinda hoping youll respond because I have some paper lees as course but noticeably course that I've refrained from using... but do want to use... again just worried about the nib.
