Knots of love 😏😍😘💛💜💙
Omg thank you so much for sharing your talent.I can not wait to make me a pair.Much continued success💯
Awh 🥺 I appreciate you tuning in and crocheting along with me 🧶🙌🏾
you probably dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new series on Instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my brother lately :)
@Alejandro Kenzo definitely, been using Instaflixxer for years myself :D
Finally! Found a video that is easy to follow...I'm a beginner and its so frustrating when people stop or skip over what is hard for me 😆 & I love stitch markers too!!
I appreciate the kindness Angie, Glad to have you as part of the #Knottycreatives. Also make sure to check my updated tutorial on this pattern 👌🏾😊
Agreed absolutely
Thank you so much 🙏🏾❣️
I literally decided to learn to crochet so I could make some cute stockings like these! I searched everywhere for a tutorial with no lucky and just happened to look again and found yours! THANK YOU!!🙏❤
Yayyy 🍾 welcome to the #knottycreatives 🍷I am glad to hear you came back around and found my tutorial - can’t wait to see your finished project and please turn on notify because I will be uploading another helpful video in regards to questions and tips on these 👌🏾💛
Thank you for this. I've been looking for a video because I've had several people asking me to make these.
Of course love 💕, I had the same requests so I figured why not create something and share the knowledge ☺️
Same here 😩😩
I’ve started these!! Wondering if you had a written pattern!!! I’ll have to write this down to keep in case anything ever happens and I can’t watch videos for some of the things I love!!! Thank you so much ❤️
Hey I appreciate you for tuning in and watching 🙏🏾 I recently wrote out this pattern so I’m going to type it out and include it as an option on my Patreon. I’m still a beginner to writing patterns so bare with me. I will reply once it’s available for purchase. Thank you ❣️
I tried the pattern I was going back and forth trying to see if my pattern looks like yours I will keep trying and hopefully if I ever finish, I will show it to you 😊
Awh Mary thanks so much for trying. I’m sure it will - it would only be a bit different depending on your foot size and if you used the same yarn and hook size. Please send me a pic when you’re done - all my social medias are linked in the description ❣️
This is a very facinating stitch for me to learn. Love the thigh high sock tutorial! Thank you.
I’m glad you were able to learn a new stitch with me Rose 🙌🏾😍The most common name for it is a V-Stitch. I would love to see your finished creation 👌🏾 Tag 🏷 @KnottybySelassie on Instagram or Facebook and use hashtag #knottybyselassie & #knottycreatives so I can shout you out 💛💛
Thank you for sharing! My niece wanted me to make her a pair. Stay safe and be blesses.😷😊
You’re welcome Tomika.. Ooo that would look adorable 😍. Thanks so much 🙏🏾 you too 💗🧡
These are gorgeous. You did a fantastic job :)
Thank you 🙏🏾 Janie, I am glad the tutorial was easy to follow
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing
Thank you beautiful 🤩 I’m glad you enjoyed it and I look forward to you joining our tribe ❣️🫶🏾
I love this stocking. Your video was great. Thank you.
Thank you beautiful 🙏🏾 I appreciate your support 🥰
Thanks so much for sharing. So clear and easy to understand and the outcome 😍😍

These thigh highs are too cute
Thank you Lisa boo 😉💛 I got you 👌🏾🧶💅🏾
@@KnottybySelassie you're welcome 🥰😍
Yaaaaasss I've been trying to make these with the net foot. thank you, thank you can't wait to make these
Of course hunty 💅🏾, I’ve got you. Don’t forget to tag me so I can shout you out 😉
Hi I love your tutorial. I'm working with the yarn Lion brand thick and quick. Would I use the same number of stitches?
Thank you so much Mary for tuning in. And hmm it might be a bit different or it might be bigger since that yarn is thicker. You can use the same number for the starting and then adjust as needed
Thank you for this simple tutorial. I've seen others and they were not simple enough for a beginner like myself. I am definitely going to make these very soon.
You're so welcome Tamika, I am glad you found my tutorial helpful - I definitely try to have pieces that can be made from any level (Beginner to Advanced)
I used a size 4 yarn by red heart and it looks so big. I have a 3.5 from hobii and that yarn is so thin. I also have on hand Impeccable and Caron and I think those are too big for this pattern. What brand yarn did you use? I know you said you got it from Joanns but what brand do you recommend? It's been easy so far for me. The beginning part measured 6 inches for me instead of 4. It looks like. I'm making a beanie. Help please!
Awesome pattern....I love it
Thank you Paulette 🙏🏾 I appreciate you ❤️
Your tutorials are amazing. Would you please make a tutorial on how you make your balls of yarn?
Thanks so much for watching Kim and yes of course I can make a tutorial on what I use to get my cakes 🧶👌🏾
Thanks for this tutorial! I have been looking for this for days! Lol. I can't wait to make me a pair. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
I appreciate you tuning in Racquel 🙏🏾🧡
But how did you get back over to the beginning after the chain 16 I’m so confused 😩
These are GORGEOUS!! Thank you so much for sharing. Your tutorial is very thorough too. Do you have a written pattern?
Thank you so much 😊 I am still working on the pattern as it would be my first official written pattern
These are gorgeous! Thank you for tutorial. I am going to go out of my comfort zone and try to make some
You’re more than welcome Jerri 🙌🏾, thank you for the compliment and yes please do. There is so much more to life outside our comfort zone 👏🏾🦋. Also, stay tuned for an upcoming video where I answer questions about this piece and helpful tips 🤓
Beautiful job ❤
Toast sis 🎉🍷
😍🥂
AWESOME!!!!!!! I CANNOT WAIT TO GET STARTED !!!!!!!!
☺️🙏🏾💛 can’t wait to see the finished look
You said on the start of the heal 27:55 skip THREE and go into that SECOND one... just a bit confused. These are so cute though thanks for sharing ❤️💕
Hey 👋🏾 beautiful thanks for tuning in and supporting ❣️ I apologize for any confusion - what I meant was out of the grouping of the 3 stitches I counted I created the v-stitch (dc, ch 1, dc) all into the 2nd stitch from that grouping.. if that makes sense.. I have an updated version of these thigh-highs in a cream color if you wanted to view that as well. Hopefully that will answer any further question and if not I’m here to help 👌🏾💛
Follow up follow up question. (Im sorry, I don’t mean to bug you🙇🏽♀️) I’m at row 20 for the leg portion now and the ankle’s looking very wide. I took your advice for the other comment and went down a hook for the feet. Should I just unravel and use a 4.5 for the ankle then go back up to 5.5 for the rest of the leg or will everything even out once I finish?
No big deal 👌🏾the ankle will look wide at first but remember you will be going back at the end to close up that portion and I would recommend using the same hook size you used to make the toes for the heel - whether it was the 3.25Mm or 3.75Mm. Have you tried it on??
I am having so much trouble in see...it's too hard because of the dark yarn . couldn't get all the steps
No problem at all Ellen, I have another video of these thigh highs in white if you search my page. Hope that helps and thanks for your support ❣️
So each new row you switch the marker right, & increased by 2? I'm new to this only have made blankets, face masks and pot holders 😬... You explained this so we'll idk why I feel like I will mess this up! 😩
Awh Ashley 😊 thank you for tuning in.. Don’t worry about messing up it’s all trials and error but I do have an updated version of these in a lighter color. I think that would help clear up any confusion😉🎆🥂
Hello, Im wondering if you need a lighter yard because i cannot see the stitches because your yarn is too dark.
For the future, I definitely will. This is the yarn 🧶 I had available in my possession to get the tutorial out to you Sheri
That’s why I stopped because I couldn’t see what she was doing
It’s actually a simple pattern of a dc, ch, dc to make a “v”. Then skip a stitch and do it all over again.
You got it 👌🏾💜
I do have an updated version of this tutorial in a lighter color for those who can’t see it with this color
My question is how do you get them to stay up on the thigh. Ive tried drawstring and elastic and they fall down.
Hey 👋🏾 Poinciana, Thanks for reminding me I did forget to address that in the video - I will be making a follow up video for this as well as other questions.
Mine is coming out really large. I used a 3.75 increased to 5" which is the width of my foot. It grew to 6.5" during the pattern repeats.
Aww Kelle, what size yarn are you using and have you tried it on? There will be a bit of a larger appearance once we switch to the 5.5Mm
❤️❤️❤️❤️ I need these
Of course you do, make them with me
Your nail are cute
Thank you beautiful 😍, you can check out my nail tutorials if you’re a fan of nails like I am. Thanks so much for watching
Hi and thank you for this pattern.. I have to do a pair for someone with a 30 inch thigh....how do I start it in the beginning so that it will fit around her thigh without falling down while walking?
You’re welcome Ayodele 🙏🏾 I would recommend you look at my updated video for these thigh-highs. You would go about the pattern the same way except for the calf and thigh portion you would just switch to a 6.5Mm hook to give the necessary room and stretch for her legs.. Also, in my updated version I show how to create the border so there is no slip or issues with staying up 👌🏾😊
So beautiful! You are very talented
Thank you so much for your kind words 🙌🏾💛
Is the best way to make a bigger a sock is using a bigger hook size? Or when you make the increases for toe part it will be wider for the leg
That’s a great question Brittani, thanks for your support 🤗. The best way to make the sock wider would be to continue with the increases for the toe portion ❤️
Love love love. I just became a new subscriber to your channel. Thank you for sharing this video. Beautiful.
YASSSS SHELIA 👏🏾🍾🍷 YOU ARE APPRECIATED. I am currently editing another version of this tutorial in a lighter colored yarn 🧶 so turn on your post notifications so you don’t miss out 👌🏾💛
I would like to see a pattern as well. i am still learning alot of stuff and patternes help. hope one day you could do one. thanks for the video
I will start a rough draft to see how it turns out. Glad you are on the crochet 🧶 side 😉
Love it thankyou
You’re welcome gorgeous 💛💛
I lost my starter mark as i was doing the 35 rows😮
Super cute🤩
Thank you love 💛🙏🏾
Love it thank you
How to make the ankle smaller? It’s too big using the 5.5mm.
I’m using a 4 weight yarn
Hey 👋🏾 Ebony 💛, I suggest trying a 4.25Mm or 4.75Mm hook if it is appearing too big. I also just uploaded a new updated tutorial so you can head there to see how to create a border to keep these up on your thighs 👌🏾😊
Hi Selassie I would like to know how you make your ball of yarn.
I appreciate you tuning in Elena 😊😍, I can definitely show what I use and how to ball up my yarn 🧶. Please also look at the updated tutorial I recently posted for these thigh-highs 👌🏾
I need some help please after you chained the 16 where is the first stitch the first chain or the first double crochet after the chain
I responded to your first comment love 💗 and please head over to the updated tutorial for these thigh-highs in a lighter color, I think it will help you see the process better 👌🏾
Do you think this pattern would fit an 8 1/2 or should I do the single
6 half doubles and 2 in the 7th sitch
Thank you 🙏🏾 for tuning in LaTrece, yes you can use this same pattern for an 8 1/2 especially since we are switching to a 5.5Mm so that has extra give. What weight yarn 🧶 are you using??
In the beginning there were measurements for calves and thigh, do you increase for the calves and thigh? I don’t think I heard you say increase. Or once you pass the heel portion you just continue in the round? Asking for us plus size women that have 19in calves and 26in thighs 🤦🏾♀️
Hey 👋🏾 my gorgeously thick Michaelia, when it comes to getting the size you want for the calf and thigh you do not need to increase, all you need to do is go up in hook size so switch from the 5.5Mm to a 6.5Mm 👌🏾😉
@@KnottybySelassie thanks
Thank you my dear!! Cause I hot some big thighs!! Cant wait to share my project with you!
Yasss Rosalind 👏🏾 I got you 😉 can’t wait to see your finished creation 👀🥂
Don’t forget to check out the updated tutorial for these on my channel so you can see how to create the border at the thighs to keep them up 👌🏾💜
Thank you.
Yes please do a video on how to roll a ball of yarn. Thank you
Alright definitely 🤩❤️, thanks for tuning in.
Alright definitely 🤩❤️, thanks for tuning in.
Hi! When you’re measuring the 4 inches, that should include the two non increase rows correct? I’m following along but with size 4 yarn and 4mm hook and making a sock for a present for an 8.5 foot and it’s looking massive. Should I go down to a 3.5 or a 3 since my yarn is a heavier weight?
Hey 👋🏾😉 and yes when you are using a larger yarn weight, you can use still use the 3.75Mm, it it still appears to be too big then move down to either a 3.5Mm or 3.25Mm. Hope this helps 😉
Thank you so much! And I have a follow up question. Where’d you get those particular beads from? My beauty supply stores here just have either wooden or the really cheap plastic ones.
I really love the pattern! thankyou! Quick question though, if I wanted to inease the hole? space ? for the nets. How do I do that ?
You’re so welcome 😉, glad you love it.. To increase you can either chain 2 between each V-Stitch or you can increase your hook size to the 6.5Mm Hook
I've wanted to try this for a month now but I am really intimidated by the whole thing? Can a sports weight yarn be used for this as well?
Hey Lisette, I appreciate you 👋🏾 yes you can definitely use a sports weight - with the yarn I used even though it showed to be a regular 4 medium it was about as light as a sport
Would anyone please, sharing what to use that will keep them from falling? Please
Hey 👋🏾 beautiful, I am actually going to be making another video to answer this question and other tips I have for these. Turn on your post notifications so you don’t miss it 👌🏾
@@KnottybySelassie Thank you ❤️
I love your pattern working on making a pair for myself now hiw can I add a photo
Yayyy I’m glad to hear that Arnette 🥳 I don’t believe you can add pictures on here but if you check the link in the description you can follow and tag me on social media. Also make sure to take a look at my updated version of this tutorial 😉👌🏾💗
Thank you now I know how to make them just have to get the right yarn or can they be made out of any yarn?
Yas 👏🏾 Marylin, can’t wait to see the finished look.. You can either use a 3 worsted weight or a light 4 worsted weight.. if it’s a regular 4 worsted then I recommend using a 3.00Mm hook for the beginning of the socks
Thank you for the video. How many did you chain for the tie?
You’re more than welcome ☺️💕, I chained 100 for the tie
Knotty by Selassie thank you 😊
Yes
💃🏾💃🏾 I got you 😉
Is there a written pattern?
Thanks for tuning in Micah 🙏🏾, I do not have a written pattern because writing patterns are still a little foreign to me 😳, if I get enough requests I will consider it

Hi fellow crocheter, so would you technically call yours stockings cause it's not technically a sock?
Hello 👋🏾, thanks for tuning in - Thigh-highs or stockings whatever you prefer
I actually love yours
Finished the one about to finish #2

I’m very stuck on the starting the heel , I don’t feel like you explained it enough
Hello 👋🏾 Aryana, thank you for the feedback. Please if you could watch the updated version of these in a different color - hopefully you will be able to understand better ❣️
So I rlly love these! But are they suppose to be lose? I wear like a 7 and when I follow your pattern it's too big
I'm gonna try and use a smaller hook
Hey Sara, excuse the delayed
Response. No they shouldn’t be loose, what hook size and yarn are you using??
Hey how do I go about switching colours
Great question Abbigail, for switching colors you would need to make sure you have your last 2 loops on your hook (if you’re doing double crochet) and then you get the new color to pull through both loops and then continue the pattern 👌🏾💛
Hello. You said you did yours 34 rows. Is that 3r rows from the toe and up..or is it 34total from the top of where the heel is. Thank you.
Great question Libby, that is 34 rows from where the heel is but it would be 42 stitches from the beginning of the project. Hope this helps and thanks 🙏🏾 for tuning in 😊
I want to make this for someone. But when do I start to change needles if they are bigger size? A few inches before the calves? Tia
Yes Wil that would be the exact time to switch to a bigger hook size. Thanks so much for watching. Make sure to turn on your post notifications because I will be posting an updated video with helpful tips
The ones you show in the beginning that were 3 thicker and looked wrapped. How do you get that look and/or effect?
They actually were not thicker, it only looks that way based on the different color changes. I used 2 different skeins of Mandala and put them together following the same steps in the video 👌🏾
What type of yarn do you recommend for these
Hey 👋🏾 thanks for tuning in. I used the yarn 𝙿𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎 because the weight is a bit different than a regular 4 worsted weight
I will try and send picture when done.
Sounds great Rose
Where are you from? You sound Caribbean. Thank you for the pattern, easy to follow.
Hey 👋🏾 Marisa, I am originally from West Africa, Ghana 🇬🇭 and I used to live in New York, Bronx (BX) to be exact 😉
What hook did you start with
I started with a 📌3.75Mm Hook ☺️
I started with a 📌3.75Mm Hook ☺️
Should’ve given how many stitches on each row for toe area
Thank you for the feedback
Love the tutorial.. how would you recommend increases for a 20" calf? I'm creating a pair for a young lady and she has a 20" Calf and a 25" thigh. Any thoughts would be great!!😊😊😊
I appreciate the love 💕 Cynthia, all you would need to do would be to switch over to the other hook I mentioned in the beginning (6.5Mm) and I forgot to mention how to go about keeping the thigh highs up since we are using those other hooks so I will be posting another video here soon to answer those questions. Thanks in advance for your patience 💛💛
@@KnottybySelassiethank you ma'am.. 🥰🥰 so would I use 6.5 from the ankle up or switch to 6.5 around the calf area. I may have to test it, but wanted your thoughts.
@@carrac89 I'd suggest at the calf. If that doesn't get the right size you can also do 2 chains between v stitches. That's what I had to do.
@@EssenceOfSpiritVlogs great info. Thanks Kimberly. I'm working on the stocking this weekend. I'll show you all the completed project😊😊
No problem love ❤️, I would recommend switching to the 6.5Mm Hook around the Calf area
May I ask what size shoe you wear
Hey Ariee thanks for tuning in and being a part of the Knotty-Creatives. I wear a 7.5-8
@@KnottybySelassie girl I kinda figured lol cuz I did one and I’m like omg it’s so big but so pretty chile I got to make it smaller for my feet how do I do that
Awhhh what did you think of the process to whip it up?? What size feet do you have and are you trying to make it smaller in terms of from the beginning or the length??
@@KnottybySelassie I wear a 4 n a half 5 just the foot part the length is fine .
Alright I think I understand now, instead of increasing the same amount of rows I did, make sure it’s enough rows for your foot width (about 1-2 rows less than I did for my increase) and then the remainder rows don’t increase till you get halfway to the arch before starting on the heel portion.. I hope that makes sense.
Hey 👋🏽 I have a question I’m a beginner but is it 34 rows total from the beginning of the pattern or 34 rows starting from the heel??
Hey gorgeous Sydney, thanks for tuning in. It is actually 34 rows from the starting of the heel. Stay tuned for an updated video with helpful tips.
Thank you so much I’m trying to make them when I post them I will for sure hashtag you ❤️
🤩🥳
how do i change my color if im using multiple colors??
Great question Cara, if you are using an already color changing yarn (Variegated) it will just change the colors on it's own while you keep crocheting.
I Love you pattern just was kinda hard to see .😍
Thank you, I ran out of bright yarn 🧶
@@KnottybySelassie oh okay well I'll just watch again I'm sure I'll get them done. Thank you.
Thank you beautiful, I made sure to get the lighting 💡closer to help as well. Luckily, after you get the toe portion done it’s a one row repeat
@@KnottybySelassie can I ask the name and color of the one's you showed before the video that was in a multi light color.
Of course, I combined 2 different colored leftover skeins of Mandala which I believe were 2-3 weight
How do you make multiple beads for the tie with the tassels?
Hey 👋🏾 Caprice, thanks for joining 🙏🏾 if you watch starting at 48 minutes 50 seconds you will see how I got the beads on the yarn 🧶 using a 1.00Mm Hook
Yes i saw... but I can’t seem to do it with multiple beads. I want to add like 4/5 beads and then the tassels.
Sounds cute ☺️, you would just need to keep trying to bead them onto the yarn first with a the smallest hook (1.00Mm) before you start with the tie - make sure they are all on the yarn first
How many skeins of yarn did you use?
Hey 👋🏾 Randi, if you use the same brand of yarn then you only need 1 skein
Thank you for showing up how make these
A lady was selling her pattern for $30 smh
You’re so welcome Lieu ☺️ and wow 😳 I can understand charging that for making them but for a pattern never 🙅🏾♀️

Hi
Hello 👋🏾 Rosalind, thanks for tuning in 🥳
There was NOTHING beginner friendly about this but lovely socks
Hello (1)
🙌🏾🍷 I appreciate you 💛
I'm worried that it will be too short for my feet. Wearing size 10, do I still only do 5 rounds before chaining for the heels? It seems to be really close to the toe area. 😓
Hey Brandy thanks so much for watching and joining the Knotty-Creatives. There’s no need to worry, the great thing about making this is the fact you can increase or decrease the length based on your measurements. In terms of your size you would actually need to increase more rows when making the foot portion before following up with the heel.
Is there a written pattern?
Hello Denene 👋🏾 I am currently working out the kinks - it’s been a little hectic on my end with moving and getting set up - once it is ready I will definitely let you know - I give thanks for your continued support 🙏🏾
