    This is really helpful, I have a total of 20 legionaries and 12 of them are still not painted. I was all over the place with the first 8, which still works since the EC marines love to style their armour however, but I still felt dissatisfied with some of my marines and felt it was taking way to long to just paint one. This video should help with getting some speed on the process.

    Thanks for this mate, I'm a first time painter and this will be a great foundation for my CSM

    Fantastic video and great job! This is a pretty effective method and one I might have to try out for my self since I plan to start a proper army soon. One thing I have noticed myself is that Magos Purple contrast seems to work much better then Druchii Violet when it comes to covering the entirety of the pink parts.

      Awesome! I'll give that a try if I ever paint some more. Useful tools, contrast paints!

    Thank you so much for this! I was trying to go my own way with a scheme for my first army and I'm finding myself in a mess of purples and pinks trying to get anything to look good until realizing what I need is simplicity. And black, just allow some armor panels to stay black.

    Great tutorial, much faster than my method for similar results. I think I would add a single pink layer on the upper portions of where you put the druchii violet but this gets you 99% of the way done.

    Could this pink be achieved with White scar prime + Emp's Children Base + Fulgrim pink layer (including Druchii Violet)?

    • @criticalhitwargaming5290
      @criticalhitwargaming5290  8 місяців тому

      It could, yes, but it would take a lot longer. The time is saved not painting the black armour trim.

      @@criticalhitwargaming5290 Thank you, I currently only have a White scar Primer and a bottle of Abaddon Black at the moment. Would the dry brush method also work with the white primer? Or would it be better with a base coat of Abaddon black.
      As opposed to CSM, im referencing your video to help color my Kriegs with a EC color theme. I find that the tone of pink you produce is the kind of vibrance that i've been trying to look for.

    Great guides, thank you so much! Any plans for Salamanders?

    • @criticalhitwargaming5290
      @criticalhitwargaming5290  3 роки тому

      I've done half a Salamanders test model and it came out pretty decent. I've got an idea to make it quicker, but that's going to involve buying a spray can just for that one paint scheme so I'll have to wait until I've got some spare money.

    what kind of brushes do you use? They seem super rigid and fine. I am having a rough time trying to paint all my models, so anything would help.

    • @criticalhitwargaming5290
      @criticalhitwargaming5290  2 роки тому

      I use Army Painter brushes, nothing special. Wargamer: Regiment, Wargamer: Character and Wargamer: Monster are my standard brushes, with a drybrush added in too. Buy yourself some brush soap off Amazon, and make sure you clean your brush in between painting sessions, and make sure your water is relatively clean.

    Are these models sold as emperors children or do you just get a chaos marine and paint him this way? I really want to paint some emperors children but I can't seem to find any being sold online.

    • @criticalhitwargaming5290
      @criticalhitwargaming5290  Рік тому +1

      You need to buy regular Chaos Space Marine units and paint them in this scheme. There are a few Emperor's Children specific units, such as Noise Marines and Lucious the Eternal.

    that basecoat is on the shiny side of satin.... not anywhere close to matte. Nice paint job nonetheless.

      @criticalhitwargaming5290  2 роки тому +2

      It's only that bright because I've got some pretty intense LED ring lights shining at it. You can make anything glow that way! For real it's a fairly matt.
