He may have just been misinformed. Also, he says that his economy was the best ever. There are variables that make it perception, but there were other terms with better economy.

it's more than that. Unemployment and crime are at historic lows. Those are probably related stats - when people are busy and working, they're less likely to engage in crime. And a significant part of that is due to the Infrastructure Plan, which has created a lot of construction projects in rural areas.
