- The night of the hack, Mr. Robot tries to shoot Tyrell, but the gun jams. Tyrell then convinces Mr. Robot he needs him for Stage 2.
From Mr Robot Season 3 Episode 3 "eps3.2_legacy.so"
Irving and the Dark Army appear, stating Gideon told the FBI that Tyrell shut down the honeypot, making him the prime suspect of the hack. They take Tyrell to a cabin in a secluded area. The psych evaluation breaks him, but he admits he will always be loyal to Elliot. Zhang begins working on both Tyrell and Elliot. Tyrell is given secure access to engineer Stage 2 with Cisco's firmware. The reports of Joanna moving on make Tyrell snap and go for a walk, whereupon he is arrested by a local police officer. The officer is killed by FBI Agent Santiago, another Dark Army plant and Dominique's superior, thereby ensuring that nobody knows about Tyrell. Irving is able to calm Tyrell, saying he can win his family back when this is over. Irving checks on Elliot through Leon. Tyrell is taken to a Dark Army-controlled hotel and is excited to meet Elliot again. After having to tranquilize him, Angela explains Mr. Robot's existence to Tyrell. After the surgery, Mr. Robot awakens and smiles at Tyrell for following the plan.

Tyrell is finally seeing the truth. If there is a billion to one chance the gun misfired, he is living in the dimension where this happens. Denial of coincidence and submitting to the moment. Price does it meeting Angela at all-safe, vera goes even more insane after meeting Elliot and it drives whiterose mad. My guess on what makes Elliot so attractive to these spirits and moments is the fact he isn't technically one person. He is living multiple realities at the same time.
This is the greatest show in newer television, so underrated

The funny thing about this scene is that if mr robot put the trigger again the gun will backfire which was confirmed by the officers who was searching around the area.
No, it was confirmed by the dark army agent who had the gun cleared for them after they took them away at the end of this hack.

@@NN_Blank Sorry, I didn't see this. The FBI would not have known the gun was jammed and would backfire because all they found was a casing for the bullet. They had no gun to inspect to learn this. Tyrell was given the gun by Mr. Robot after he tried to kill Tyrell.

Mr robot gave him the gun and tyrell used it on him in season 2. Now that's consistency. I often forget the things that happen in a show due to delay between seasons but good directors always remind us of past things and little details in the show. Good job Sam Esmail.

That gun smoked when he pulled the trigger, this indicates that the primer was ignited but the gunpowder in the casing was either corrupt or non existent, evident since the FMJ is still in the unfired casing. Meaning this isn't technically a jam, a jam occurs when there is either too much or too little pressure from the previous round's compression for the slide to properly rechamber a new round; this is a malfunctioning ammo round, still a common occurrence with expired or cheap surplus ammo.
That´s true however...later that milkshake guy said that it was a squib load and that the next round would „blow his hand off“ or something...so...error in the show since the bullet
was not stuck in the barrel. It´s a little thing but still.....

@@samuelbekele3601 Nah, squib loads generally happen because of poor quality ammo, not because of the incompetence of the shooter. Tyrell was right, it really was about as close to divine providence as you can get. The majority of firearm malfunctions can be cleared by racking the slide (which Elliot did), but squib loads require disassembly of the gun in order to manually hammer the stuck bullet out of the barrel. Had Elliot pulled that trigger, at best, he would have likely damaged or destroyed that gun, and at worst, blown a finger or even his hand off. Makes me wonder how differently the show would have ended had Elliot been missing some fingers...

Tyrell's acting SO on point
Rami and Slater get a lot of deserved credit but the side characters are top fucking notch as well, everyone brought their A game for this one
If I'm not mistaken, the handguns the two Dragon Army memebers use are the Type 77 Pistol, which would be a surplus Chinese Army handgun. Always love the attention to detail in the show.

Bobby Cannavale never really hit any grand points for acting (at least to me) until this scene, I couldn't imagine anyone better in this role. I am sure there are few, but he just actually looks comfortable for once.

@@momobobo5430 thank you. I never actually saw this show, but have watched enough clips on here to get a good idea of what is happening. This individual and his wife did excellent acting for their characters. They were portraying some very materialistic and sick people, but they did it very well. Some of their scenes were stunning, and I think they are both excellent actors. It is also cool that they had this exotic Scandinavian background, I have never heard of that before in an American show, but I don’t watch much TV.

@@Ulyssestnt in steel mountain (raspberry pi) the backups weren't online, and couldn't be online because they were on magnetic tapes, put in storage. They used the raspberry pi to heat up the storage room to the point of damaging the tapes. They could've used even a cafeteria hotspot for that, or just set a timer on the rpi. Backups in steel mountain were air gapped, literally. Can't be more air gapped than sitting-on-a-shelf. HVAC wasn't accessible from the outside, I see no issues here with the show.

I actually kinda agree with Tyrell for once. That gun didn’t kill Tyrell but also made a full combustion, jammed, without blowing his hand off.

@@khokon_m I don't know honestly, there are too many clues leading to Tyrell being the original host that I would find it hard that the writers would let them here without giving us a bit of closure for one side or the other.

Also, I don't know if you can remember, but when elliot was about to close the backdoor before stage two, tyrel shoots elliot and mr robot was disappearing, and after shooting, tyrel called the guy from the dark army for elliot's treatment.

@@khokon_m Yes I am not a hard believer of the theory. I wanted to say it was strange for such a well-written series to leave such clues like the room in S1 where Tyrell propose a job to Mastermind Elliot is exactly the same as the room in the end where all the altars are altogether or the fact that Tyrell appears that well in Elliot's fantasy world.
And what the hell is this 4x04 ending plot where Tyrell supposedly dies in the woods looking at a blue light coming from nowhere. It is like wiping all the part of the serie's plot in two minutes... I mean when I heard the theory of Tyrell seeing the blue light of the hospital monitor and the woods decorum coming from the painting in front of elliot in the hospital when he wakes up, I was like huh why not ?
But at the same time, there is many clues of Tyrell being a real person and not an altar. So I am in doubt of the theory being true or wrong because there are arguments in both ways... Maybe the truth is in the middle ground between those two extremes.
I always believed that all the plot of season 3 and 4 was a bit off, like everything was happening in a different world than S1 & S2. All the decisions of every character becomes very strange like everyone is crazy or on the verge of becoming it.

Mr robot is elliot, as elliot has a disorder called DID which means he has seperate people/personalities that are called alters, share a body and control it at separate times
