  • Howdy Guys!
In this next Houdini Python video I wanted to answer a few questions I have gotten a lot of lately. Basically the question is how can we have control over the exporting of our Fracture simulations inside of our game engines and retain a group for each piece in the fracture. So I made a video that shows you how to make an HDA that will export your fractures to an FBX file such that each piece in the fracture is in its own group. We will use knowledge of HDAs, Python, and Houdini to get this built out.

Hope you guys like it and find it educational!
    Thanks!

Scripting in python, if you see when someone goes step by step seems so easy ^^
"now we need to press that button, so we gonna use function pressButton()" xD
Thank you for that and I'm looking forward for further videos on python :)

    Nice!
Instead of passing hou.pwd() as an argument to the function, you could pass kwargs
then in the function use kwargs['node'] - and there are other very useful things in kwargs

a simple question : I see that you use unit a lot , but If I don't want to create games, is there another reason to learn unity?

Howdy Beka! Well sure...Unity can be used for making short films, or for Arch Viz, or for VR sims, or AR sims, you can even make desktop and mobile apps with it if you so desire. Its a very flexible engine and I use it a lot because I am a fan of C#. Unity gives me the ability to customize it easily with C#. Though the latest Unreal allows you to create editor tools with blueprints now, which I like as well. But to answer your question, you can use Unity for a lot of things other than games, for sure. Thanks!
