    Thanks Kevin for this video - certainly it enabled me to replace the clutch on the same model which we have. As an amateur this ended up taking me a total of 24 hours after hitting a good few challenges, but got there in the end.

    These videos show you how to change a clutch and the cars to stay away from or get rid if ya have one just incase the clutch might need doing one day, think I would rather do a mini clutch than one of these, my god the amount of work that went in to this respect to you Kevin 👍👍👍👍👍

    Getting horrible flashbacks to the worst job i've ever attempted on a car, our 07 2.0 S-Max! On our drive as well... took me about 3 days (half a day to work out how to disconnect the gear selectors!) to get the box off and I couldn't get it back on, called in a mobile mechanic instead I was knackered. I took the subframe completely off, didn't realise you could do it with it on! That would have saved some time.

    I'm going to do the same job on an S-Max 1.8, 2008 model. I assume it's pretty similar to what you've done? Some recommend taking down the entire subframe, but it looks like I don't need to? I'm also planning to convert to an SMF. I hope there won't be too much vibration. My local Ford workshop said I could do it, and that they have good experiences with it.

      Either the master or slave cylinder.

    • @spaceheads
      @spaceheads 4 місяці тому

       that’s exactly the fault I had on my car and it turned to be the slave cylinder. Followed Kevin’s video to the letter but because my car is a 2,2 the gearbox is a lump compared to the 2,0 and I’ve barely got clearance. A couple of subtle differences. The slave cylinder/release bearing was shot (knackered). Good luck with whatever you decide to do, although I’m sure you’ve already done it.

    why didn't you change the crankshaft seal? it is not an expensive part and since you changed the clutch it costs nothing to change it to avoid future oil leakage problems, hug

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 роки тому

      I would never replace a crank seal on its own as that’s bad practice. As it’ll be temporarily masking the issue., and deceiving the customer.
      If that seal leaks., equals = movement in the crank.
      Replace main and big end bearings. Then replace the seal = Job done correctly.
      Otherwise it shouldn’t leak. It’s constantly coated in oil so it shouldn’t go wrong.
      Simply = you wouldn’t have blisters if you’re wearing the correct size shoes.

      Kev respect to doing the UA-cam stuff , wished I'd got a camera lol the shit is the same day in day out lol last week all synchros Iveco Daily 64 plate today engine swap 66 plate fiesta .
      Tbh I hate Ford's but I'm mobile and work on folks drives , get the shit no one else wants !
      I'd sooner work on plant and HGV's and used to convert trucks to LHD for 15 years for export

    That was some unmerciful strike on the steering knuckle for the ball joint, usually takes my 8 or 9 whacks of a hammer and even then I get an ouchie 😂😂

    You want to get yourself your own number plate which has your business name on there, when filming stick out over the customer's number plate to disguise it.

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 роки тому

      That’ll be an idea. They cost a small fortune tho.

    • @sagster
      @sagster 3 роки тому

      @@WMCS No shouldn't cost more than £20, probably get one for much less than that

      @sagster 3 роки тому

      @@WMCS you're not registering it to put on a car or your van, it'll just be for sticking on top of customers number plate whilst you film right. So you just need a plate made up for whatever you want it to read. Example online plates website www.ukshowplates.com/

    That Ford should be called "Bracketmax" instead. Brackets on brackets on brackets.

    • @WMCS

      I think the bracket trophy might go vauxhall 😁… makes ford designers look professional., which are French really. 😂
