Yes, Yes it is better than a StreetGlide. I have owned Harleys and an R18 Classic and now the R18B which is the BEST BAGGER I have ever ridden and owned.
I really don’t understand this obsession with forward controls (in the UK at least). 95% of our roads are nadgery, even our longest motorways are only a few hundred miles long. I had forward controls on a Harley and didn’t like it. All your weight is on your backside and at very slow speed you have nowhere to put your feet, you end up doing a duck walk. Goldwings have exactly the same set up & no one moans about that. Lovely bike.
One has more pressure on the backside with forward controls. But I like them and find it very comfortable even on 500+ mile days. Even some Harley owners opt for mid controls. Each to their own.
Your feet resting on the cylinders is actually do-able believe it or not due to the low heat transfer on these air and oil cooled engines . There is also pair of bracketed footrests that mount to engine bars if required.

Well said and very true
They are close these days, there is one thing for sure the R18 is a little more exclusive.

The black horse, yes lovely big massive bike, unfortunately too low for my old knees 😉😊
It’s a big low beastie indeed.
I've never seen an R18 in the wild funnily enough. I must be hanging around the wrong cafes.
I did last week when I was riding rental r12 lol
@awdadwadwad1723 Wow..Once in a lifetime event!
I'm curious how the wind buffeting is at highway speeds
Any feedback would be appreciated 👏
Was very clean air, however do test one for yourself.
The screen can be changed very easily with aftermarket low cost screens from PRC
@@Ray-he4oe changed to what? Do you loose functionality?
I just couldn't fit it through the garden gate.
You can't put your legs up on highway pegs though
Lay them on the cylinders?!

Tried the R18 and found it uncomfortable with the large jugs, at 193 cm or 6.3 or so it has ZERO LEG ROOM.
your loss
It's certainly as pointless as a Harley Street Glide.
There's nothing pointless in SG
your comment is actually pointless mate
