- ‘TALK’, the 14th studio album by Progressive legends YES, was initially released on 21st March 1994 and is often referred to as the great ‘lost’ YES album. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Spirit of Unicorn Music will reissue the album as a 4CD Deluxe Edition featuring bonus material and a previously unreleased live show from Canandaigua New York in 1992. There are also brand new interviews with the principal players by renowned writer Jerry Ewing, a 2-LP limited edition white vinyl set and a single CD. YES fans will welcome the album’s vinyl version as mint copies of the original, and even the reissue, change hands for hundreds of pounds.

My first Yes concert, age 16. Absolutely blown away! Beautiful album, so many gems. Endless Dream is right up with Yes' greats!
I remember going to buy this CD in Columbus Ohio, in my late 20s, upon its initial release. Time does indeed fly my friends.
How old are you now?
30 years?! After purchasing this in 1994, I wrote Phil Carson a vociferously negative letter, largely because the album was so diametrically different from the promise that the Union tour seemed to hold. No Wakeman, no Howe, etc. He kindly, patiently wrote back to encourage me to give it a few more listens, and I did. He was right, and it stands as one of my go-to Yes listens to this day. Kudos to all those involved--those still with us, and those not.
This is a welcome reissue as Talk is one of the best records Yes ever made, the culmination of a brilliant trilogy of albums by Rabin, Kaye, White and, of course, Anderson and Squire.

The correct spelling is “Canandaigua.” (I was there, so I look forward to adding this to my collection!)
First, the original CD of "Talk" was not as "hard to find" as the band claims. 2nd, the single CD version should have some bonus tracks or material. Making someone buy a 4-CD version for any of that is asking a lot.

The Deluxe 4-CD set was withdrawn almost immediately after release. The question is "Why"?
By the way,due to some procedural or technical error, no May release from the Cherry Red group of labels can be preordered from dealers in the U.S.A.
another giant leap into the void of this act's alleged management
At one point,I was considering ordering this set, but i don't want it badly enough to warrant paying the extreme shipping charges of having Cherry Red send this from England. It's not Cherry Red's fault. At the start of the Pandemic, Britain's "Royal Mail" imposed extreme surcharges on packages destined for the U.S.A., They weren't content to double,triple or quadruple those charges. They QUINTUPLED the charges. As for the concert iincluded in the "Talk" box, I have ,by now found it elsewhere, along with many other concerts from the 1994 tour.
It was created as a result of Trumps "Make America Great" bollocks. Royal Mail had to raise prices because of his "great" new policies.
The same ridiculous pricing applies to buying goods from the USA to send to the UK and I've bought guitar parts where the postage has exceeded the goods cost.
Royal Mail International Parcel Prices to US Rockets
The cost of sending parcels to the US by Royal mail rose dramatically over the summer. The combination of COVID-19 international flight restrictions and changes in US policies on postal rates for incoming mail combined to create a worrying precedent for international mail.
Royal Mail in the UK, who we use for our international tracked and standard postal services, is one of a number of international mail providers affected by the circumstances, with the price of sending International standard parcels to the US increasing by 49% on average, and the price of International signed and tracked parcels sent to the US increasing by an average of 38%.
The impact of flight restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic is one cause of the price rise, with Royal Mail explaining that “Most of Royal Mail’s international mail is carried on commercial passenger flights. There has been a 95% reduction in air passenger flights globally following the outbreak of Covid-19. We are having to use air freight to keep the mail moving instead.” According to Royal Mail, this has led to a “five-fold increase in our air freight costs to the US”.
A more notable trend in international mail, though, comes from a change in US policy towards incoming mail from outside of the USA, which will contribute a long term cost increase in sending mail to America. Royal Mail explain that “The increase in the rates we pay for last mile delivery in the US are a result of decisions taken at the UN’s Universal Postal Union (UPU). This met the US administration’s stated objective - to increase how much they charge other countries for delivery. We expect other countries to follow suit. We are likely to see price increases to elsewhere in the world in due course.”
The complex relationship between the US and the UPU was first raised in 2018, when the Trump Administration announced plans to withdraw from the Universal Postal Union, citing unfair trading conditions which they alleged favored China. The US opted against withdrawl from the UPU when a deal was struck to allow the US Postal Service to set its own postal rates, which, according to Royal Mail, will see “A significant increase of more than 100% in the rates we pay for last mile delivery in the US from 1st July”.

Sorry, this is a poor anniversary edition. The remastering of the regular cd is no better sound than the collectors edition. The Bonus tracks from cd2 are not interessting to me. And the concert is more a better bootleg sound. Sorry no good job boys.
