Well, 5.7 does have some pretty painful limits. The poly case coating for extraction doesn't play well with reloading dies, and the primer pocket walls are really thin so full pressure reloads aren't a great idea. Otherwise it's fine if you like having to shop like it's coof season when everything else is on shelves. 22 tcm*1.5" would be my preference.

Hey man i like my little brazillian 38 spl its a fine little boom twig. I mean I cant really hit shit with it, because its a snub nose, but I can shoot it fast enough to scare people at the range. Plus its loud.
I've actually put through well over 1000 rounds through my G3 with no failures. It's probably closer to 2000 now but I stopped keeping count after 1000. Only failures were from bad primers on shitty ammo. I've shot around 200 rounds of steel through it too. Did about 500 rounds through it without cleaning it once because I just didn't feel like cleaning it for a while. I've had more failures from other firearms from S&W actually. Had a failure to feed about once every magazine on a Shield. Had it looked at and still had issues. It was for my mom and I ended up selling it for a different S&W. Still has a failure every few magazines. I personally do all the cleaning and such on both of our pistols so it's not that. I know Taurus had a bad rep for a while but for a budget firearm (I hate that term. In aviation there's a four seat airplane that sells new for up to $1 million. You can do pretty much the same thing with ones from other manufactures for a quarter of that, sometimes less. We don't call them budget airplanes) at least in my experience it's not bad. I don't have the money or the time to shop like I'd like.
Funny story regarding new gun owners. Friend of mine processes background checks at a retailer in gun sales. He said hes seen more then a handful of "gun haters" become first time gun owners recently .... and some of them had the sentiment / statement (paraphrasing) of "my god this background check paperwork / time taken ... is bullshit, this is horrible" my buddies response: "well this is what you guys wanted / voted for." ... the irony lol!

I was one of the 1st time buyer last year. I got it because I had a bonus from work and my boss took me to the shooting range on my bday to determine on which gun felt good in my hands before buying one.

I’m a life member of the NRA and think that their training and marksmanship programs are fantastic, but their politics and leadership leave me extremely disappointed.
Would you prefer they cowtow to libs? I prefer an org that fights. I didnt join for them just to not fight for 2A rights.
