Glad to see you back in action. Yes, it is dry hear in East TX also. We got a partial 2nd cut in 1st week of July and no growth since. That's interesting that you twist off your PTO shaft. I started running a rake and baler combo this year (JD 705 and Vermeer 604R). I twisted off the PTO shaft using a 15' batwing the other day. The tractor is a NH TS110. Maybe it was weakened from using the the rake/baler combo. I need to get my channel up and running
Where are you an Ag teacher at, You guy are over worked and under paid. Keep safe friend, you ever make it to South Texas look us up. We breed pure bred Santa Gertrudis and Produce Hay.
We’ve been baling rice bales over here in our part of Texas. Been such a blessing being able to make them and to be able to sell them at a reasonable cost.
South Texas Cattle and Hay was a little worried about you, we had been watching your channel for some time. We started our channel, stop by some time fellow Texas hay producer. we have Irrigated and fertilized Tifton 85 hay for sale at a very fair price in the RGV South Texas. Hope you guys get some rain we also need it. Keep safe and hope the family is well.
We in lower S.C. are having problems with predicting fair weather windows long enough to facilitate the total harvesting of 170 acres..... from field to shed......So far we have had 2 ten day windows to our advantage that coincided with the cut dates... If production per acre is 1/2 of last cut we will exceed storage capacity..... So we ether park equipment in the open ( not going to happen)...... or have another shed erected.......................
Nice problem to have. I would rather have too wet than too dry. At least pastures would support cattle. Many in East TX are selling herds because of no pasture and sky high hay prices. Also some ponds are too low for decent water for livestock.
Glad to see y’all back. It’s good to be busy.
