The first time I read Fire and Blood I had a hard time believing a bunch of peasants killed 5 dragons. But I guess we saw a mob hurt Drogon in GoT, so it’s definitely possible.
Learning about the Targaryen family history was interesting especially with the narration by the actors whose characters died throughout the series which was great to be honest.

I can't believe how much George RR Martin put into this.... It's the greatest story ever written... The show is incredible, probably the best tv show ever made.. I hope that other projects whether it be spun off prequel tv shows or movies are made... There is soooo material..
Not really. The Dance of Dragons had about 20 years of building, simmering conflict, tension and politics behind it that erupted upon King Viserys' death. That's part of the reason it was such a bloody and horrific war when it finally erupted. So it would be hard to capture all of that in a film and accurately portray all of the nuances of the buildup to the conflict. I would love to see it as a TV series though. Either that or the First Blackfyre Rebellion.
If they planned it out well, they could make a series out of it. Maybe they'd only do 5 episodes a year because the dragon battles would eat up the money. They might not also put in every battle and focus more on the politics of the civil war.
If HBO ever DOES decide to do a Game of Thrones prequel series, like they have suggested they wished to do, I would suggest they do The Dance of Dragons, rather than Robert's Rebellion. It seems like there is meatier material there, it is longer, it is more removed from the action of the original series, and you won't run into all the cliches which prequels are now infamous for.
M28tan Haha. Not about how much they have. About how much they're willing to put back in. The fact that the final seasons would have so many dragon scenes and would cost a lot led them to keep the seasons shorter by 3 episodes.

It is ironic that Viserys is so firmly on Aegon's side and not Rhaenyra's. Had she done nothing, Viserys, as a descendant of her son would have been nowhere near the throne, just some distant cousin of the King. ... well, he was nowhere near the throne in canon either, just a distant cousin of the King, so perhaps that is his fate.
If Aegon were to remain a king Viserys would probably haven’t even born cause it’s Daemon and Rhaenyra’s line that continued the dynasty. Aegon II’s children died along him.
What happened to the Targaryen bastards and their dragons (the 2 that switched sides and the girl that Daemon helped)? Also the dragon that threw Rhaenyra’s son off it’s back and flew off.
The Bastards (Hugh and Ulf) were killed by hightower army host Because they were thinking of switching sides again. Hugh's dragon (Vermithor) died in a 2v1 dragon battle. Ulf's dragon (silverwing) was one of the two dragons that survived the dance. she died of old age. The girl Nettles (One that daemon helped) Rode to essos along with her dragon sheepsteeler. Nobody knows About her after that. The dragon which thre rhaenyra's son was Her Rhaenyra's own dragon syrax. Syrax was killed by Aegon II's Dragon sunfyre.
It's too bad no one had the guts to cut them down during Tommen's reign before Cersei had to light them on fire along with the Tyrells, her uncle, and hundreds of nobles and peasants. I would have liked to have seen a good fight between armored knights and cloaked cultists because I don't see why a bunch of knights with armor and swords should back down from a group of barefooted goons with clubs and maces.
He just said something about the Weirwood doors at the House of Black and White. Weirwood? 3 Eyed crow get access to the House of Black and White via the doors? Ya think or is that too far a stretch lol?
1:00:00 hopefully that scene makes it to the big screen (hbo) better yet 1:08:00 mark, this animation shows why they choose house of the dragon over blood moon
+ImTheWaffleman What does this have to do with feminism? There's various charcters persepctives on everything, and Ellaria has the same right to talk about it - she was born in Dorne, raised in Dorne, lived in Dorne as Oberyn did. It's not that deep, fam.
Oberyn already talked about Dorne in a previous season. Also, claiming that everything is because of feminism is no better than feminists claiming everything is the patriarchy's fault.
@@hekate5561 Also they only choose characters who are still alive in the seasons to speak of the histories that accompany those seasons. If they'd chosen anyone else besides Ellaria to speak of Dorne, it should have been Doran, being both Oberyn's brother and the Prince of Dorne. The Dance of Dragons is at least narrated partially by Oberyn and other deceased characters of the past seasons, which I think was done to provide the history with a more solemn tone given how it touches on the beginning of a bittersweet decline for the Targaryens.
I just want to say the gender equality stuff in the corner bit at like 42 mins. Is great I think it's a great way to do gender equality without feeling forced.
It depends, Aegon did unite kingdoms that were waring amongst each other for centuries and I guess that the Riverlords at least were happy that the dragons got rid of the Ironborn or Stormland or Westerland invaders.
At 49 minutes they say the high Septon anointed and crowned Aegon as the king of the seven kingdoms, but in reality, he was crowned King of six kingdoms because Dorn wasn't a part yet. Just saying. Get your facts straight game of thrones.
Asher Spira Harren's lands were split into the iron islands and the riverlands after the fall of Harrenhall. The North, the Riverlands, the Iron Islands, the Reach, the Westerlands, the Vale and the Stormlands. Thats 7, Dorne was never counted. Get out facted.
Ethan Quirk You are simply incorrect, but so am I. He was crowned king of the seven kingdoms just he didn't have all seven kingdoms it was just the style they used because he still called himself the king everywhere. Book of ice and fire page 45. Check your facts. No hard feelings
Using dragons to fight other dragons is unquestionably STUPID and absolutely WASTEFUL. This is for multiple reasons. First, they're living creatures. So if you are of that nature and belief, you could say that is a reason not to use them to kill each other, nor as a tool of war at all, despite their effectiveness and incomparable destructive potential as a weapon. Only the Game of Thrones hugely amped up version of napalm, which they call Wildfire, can wreck stuff as much as a dragon. Second, in a much more pragmatic sense, they are a rare and precious resource, regardless of how tough and mighty of beasts they are. They weren't many left after The Doom destroyed Valyria, and they had grown less and less over time, until they were barely the size of a house cat. Third, the Death of a single one, especially an older and larger dragon, is a huge loss. So any task involving one which could result in a fatality should've been carefully planned out, no matter how tiny a detail may seem. While The Dance of Dragons is an exciting and intense tale, it is also THE most foolish and wasteful event in the history of House Targaryen.
First: " They're living creatures " is not an argument. Aren't horses? And aren't people? Guess we shouldn't have any wars, since people and horses are living creatures and would die. Mind blown. Second. " They're a valuable resource " Uhm, so is gold, steel, dragon glass, etc. Not using a resource because you're afraid to lose it is similar to not having it. Yes, having a dragon will scare people into not challenging your rule. But if someone else has dragons, then not using yours to defend your claim is weak sauce. Also, the dragons grew smaller in size after the dance of dragons, not the doom of Valyria. Your third point was practically an extension of your second.
@@lethargictroll6788 they are a valuable resource, anyone can get gold but only the targaryens have control over the dragons so they are extremely precious. Using them in battle against armies is smart, using them to fight dragon against dragon is wasteful.
Yours is a very mute point. Dragons are used for war. And if both sides have dragons, they will both use it. Saying that using dragons is stupid, is essentially are meaningless as saying war is stupid. The only bad consequence from using dragons is that there would be less of them for targaryens to rule over the rest of the kingdom. Which is only bad if you are a Targaryen loyalist. If you are like me, who hate those white gaired sister fuckers who abuse an unnatural advantage they have on the rest of The world, having them fight each other so that they would lose that advantage is actually good.
really annoyed they missed out key details about the dance of the dragons, including the second battle of tumbleton where daeron(youngest of viserys I sons by alicent) perished

If lewyn and barristan were with rhaegar. Oswell, gerold, and Arthur were with Elia. And Jaime was with aerys. Where was Jonothor Darry. He was supposed to be at the trident
I wonder if it was just a mix-up or what but, Syrio Forel said he was the "First Sword" of the Sea Lord of Bravos, but, this cat says the First Sword serves for life,?? possibly another element to the Jaqen H'ghar is Syrio scenario (that sounded strange saying it in my head)? If Ned sent for a teacher from Bravos, why would they send "The First Sword" if he is the Sea Lords shadow and the First Sword serves for life (meaning he should be in the shadow of the Sea Lord all day, not playing in Kings Landing) Something is fishy fer sure!
The sea lord serves for life, the first sword serves the sea lord. If the sea lord dies before the first sword, and no one wants a knight who outlived the lord he swore to protect, than a knight must find another purpose, possibly out of the city.
even in death. daemon died the most badass way possible. i think he knew that 1. he probably will die anyways even if he won, 2. he HAD to delete Aemond no matter what. easily the most badass character in the war.
This Targaryan story is gonna be full of emotions when it unfolds in House of the Dragon Edit: & it's also gonna have the most epic dragon fights especially the one at Hurrenhal 👐. I can't wait!
So there is only one God worshipped by all of them. The Lord of light, the old and new gods and the drowned Gods are all the same God. Very interesting and very clever.
That’s not a fact. That’s just what some people believe. GRRM and the books never really confirm or deny anything about religions or which god is the real or how many there are.
I don't understand how a bunch of Dornish twats killed Rhaenys and her dragon, I know they have special arrows and everything but it's still hard to believe. Even when she and her dragon died her brother and sister wanted revenge, but they didn't attack Sunspear and kill all those Dornish scum? What in the actual hell. Two dragons especially with one of them being Baelon "The Black Dread" would utterly destroy Sunspear. That's why in my head canon, I have Aegon and Vysenya laying waste to Sunspear after their sisters death and uniting the Seven Kingdoms. The Dornish rebelled during Daeron I reign but conceded to marriage with the Targaryans later. That makes a lot more sense.
Meraxes was killed with a lucky shot through the eye from a scorpion. Aegon and Visenya didn't attack Dorne either because they were spooked by the loss of one dragon or (and this is fan theory) Rhaenys actually survived and was held hostage by the Dornish.
Dragons are mortal. One arrow to the eye, at the right angle is all it takes. After so many battles, hundreds, even thousands of arrows flying her way.. gonna get lucky eventually.
SPOILERS FOR HOTD During the fall of King's Landing near the end of the Dance, Maelor was supposed to be smuggled to Oldtown, but was killed by a mob of peasants before he arrived.

GoT History and Lore and Conquest and Rebellion Season 7 Full: ua-cam.com/video/qBupfOy4W0U/v-deo.html
Yoooooo!!! Dance of Dragons is insane!
I really enjoyed this. Better than the final season of GoT
Game of Thrones Season 8: The Dance of Dragons OR Aegon's Conquest?
I would love to see the dance of the dragons as a movie or show.
it will be
Hope youre loving it
Glad to know Faith Militants were destroyed once before Cersei eliminated them again!
Im just listening to this so i can fall asleep 🤷🏽♀️
Great thanks for sharing...
Np
55:50 Rhaenyra's eldest three sons didn't have silver hair👀
Braavos... now there is a city I would live in if I were in the GOT/ASOIAF universe...
It's a shame that they're not doing a series based on the events of the Targaryen civil war.
its, will be released in 2020 😻
@@ahmeddebrov3379 2022 more like
Dang the Rhoynar got really screwed didn't they?
1:59 am I the only one disturbed by the fireworks? so gunpowder existed in Braavos apparently...
why not.. it was only "gun" powder when they had guns.. but the alchemy was discovered much earlier.
Oh my god you're right
Black powder existed long before it was used to craft firearms
Yes. You are the only one.
He just said something about the Weirwood doors at the House of Black and White. Weirwood? 3 Eyed crow get access to the House of Black and White via the doors? Ya think or is that too far a stretch lol?
It doesn’t have a weirdwood face on it..the left door is made of from a weirdwood tree and the right is made from ebony.
This all needs to be made into tv.
The disease numbs that limb. I didn't know that. That's why Jorah could deal with the pain as bad as it was still
53:30 gets into House of the Dragon stuff so I stopped there now that Season 2 is upon us. Wondering if I should continue or wait.....
Definitely wait
Continue. You are weak.
56:08 Rhaenys was the cousin of the old king, not his sister.
Hope we'll get the "hour of the wolf" that happened right after the Dance too, one day
"but daemon was more snake than dragon" nice
Chachi?
1:00:00 hopefully that scene makes it to the big screen (hbo) better yet 1:08:00 mark, this animation shows why they choose house of the dragon over blood moon
Don't watch past the ONE HOUR mark if y ou dont wanna get spoiled(Or havnt read the books)
that was amazing!!
Yw
Dorne are the giga chads of Westeros
ua-cam.com/video/2YTAiIqPRk4/v-deo.html - CROSTRACK [MASHUP] OF GAME OF THRONES AND OTHER MEDIA PRODUCTS. FOR FUN.
I love these
Love Catelyn's voice!
These are better than some of the GOT T.V. series or seasons.
THEY SHOULD MAKE A ANOTHER SERIES ABOUT DANCE OF THE DRAGON! AMAZIBG DRAGON FIGHTS!!!!!
It will HBO confirmed it 😻
Dumb idea
The Valyrians at 21:05 : ESCALATE! ESCALATE!
Why would they let ellaria Talk about dorne
Random Footballfan yeah, should have been Oberyn.
King of Austria because woooo feminism -_-
+ImTheWaffleman What does this have to do with feminism?
Fark yeah! Dorne is so bloody amazing!

Dumb
I really like Viseris and Joffreys parts in this 😁😁
you mean Viserys DOHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I just want to say the gender equality stuff in the corner bit at like 42 mins. Is great I think it's a great way to do gender equality without feeling forced.
It's a deadlock:
Braavos is the greatest sea-power, Volantis has the greatest land army. Neither could conquor the other.
Seems like dragons have never been good news to anyone who wasn't a targaryen or a targaryen bastard lol.
Ethan Quirk
You are simply incorrect, but so am I. He was crowned king of the seven kingdoms just he didn't have all seven kingdoms it was just the style they used because he still called himself the king everywhere. Book of ice and fire page 45. Check your facts. No hard feelings
Asher Spira and so why was he not declared the king of the 8 kingdoms?
Dorne is not a Kingdom. Dorne has no King.
Ethan Quirk the riverlands was not a kingdom, they never had a king
It's not full! you missed "The Fait Millitant" part
Have you recovered?
Can anyone tell me what is what is the this GOT histories and lore? I mean this a officail GOT extra or not? If yes what is the release year?
And How someone watch the got seris in chrnology if I include histories and lore also??
Plz reply 🙏🙏🙏
They are official, they were included with the DVD extras. They are to provide history and backstory for the series so they aren't in the chronology of the show.
If lewyn and barristan were with rhaegar. Oswell, gerold, and Arthur were with Elia. And Jaime was with aerys. Where was Jonothor Darry. He was supposed to be at the trident
Gerold and Artthur were with Lyanna!
If Ned sent for a teacher from Bravos, why would they send "The First Sword" if he is the Sea Lords shadow and the First Sword serves for life (meaning he should be in the shadow of the Sea Lord all day, not playing in Kings Landing) Something is fishy fer sure!
i thought the same thing.
Larry Young the Sealord serves for life, not the First Sword
Larry Young the Sea Lord serves for life
The sea lord serves for life, the first sword serves the sea lord. If the sea lord dies before the first sword, and no one wants a knight who outlived the lord he swore to protect, than a knight must find another purpose, possibly out of the city.
I don’t understand why they don’t make this into an a tv show
Those last 40 seconds.... telling.
even in death. daemon died the most badass way possible. i think he knew that 1. he probably will die anyways even if he won, 2. he HAD to delete Aemond no matter what. easily the most badass character in the war.
This Targaryan story is gonna be full of emotions when it unfolds in House of the Dragon
Edit: & it's also gonna have the most epic dragon fights especially the one at Hurrenhal 👐. I can't wait!
i really wanna see more of the dance of dragons
who getsthe feeling that the many face god is actually satan
nah, it's death like 'the stranger'. i sorta think all the religions are death in some way like r'hllor and the drowned god.
"most were called supper" epic
So there is only one God worshipped by all of them.
The Lord of light, the old and new gods and the drowned Gods are all the same God.
Very interesting and very clever.
That’s not a fact. That’s just what some people believe. GRRM and the books never really confirm or deny anything about religions or which god is the real or how many there are.
braavos is a texturpack of Venice
anybody know if theres gonna be a season 7 lore???
Kasper Nielsen yep and 8

It sucks for those that watched this before knowing there was going to be HOTD show.
when the video started the first thing i thought of was "MYCROFT?!?" .... and then I remember 😅
Whatever happened to Maelor, Queen Helena's son who wasn't killed by Blood and Cheese?
And with Queen Alicent too
SPOILERS FOR HOTD
During the fall of King's Landing near the end of the Dance, Maelor was supposed to be smuggled to Oldtown, but was killed by a mob of peasants before he arrived.
46:26 If you're gonna make the seven pointed star a red fiery symbol, right after showing how you burned down another religion's followers and god symbols, it doesn't make your religion seem peaceful.
This was not season 5 lore lol this was Dance of Dragons basically. But i guess since Shireen is telling it it would relate to season 5 😂 still good stuff
